I have only had Vista for 10 days and already I'm getting messages that my mailbox is full and some messages are being blocked. I used Outlook Express for 6 years and never had this problem. A tiny mailbox is no use to anyone, how can I increase it's capacity ?

In XP, I could go to any of my picture folders and the thumbnail was instantly viewable, but Vista seems to have a bit of lag displaying them. When scrolling down a folder with alot of pics, it seems to be generating thumbnails as it goes along. Is there a way to increase the cache size so it behaves like XP?

Presently I have 1.4 GB and around 11000 files and 400 folders in my Windows Mail and not surprising it's a little bit slow when starting. However it works fine and fast. Could I continue forever let's in a couple of years having 140 GB and 1000000 files and 10000 folders? Don't know how Windows Mail uses memory RAM and sidefiles when opened. Is that a limiting factor? I'm using Vista 32 bit with 2 GB RAM.

I'm using the Windows Mail that came with Vista Home Premium (Sp1). How does one increase the border between windows in Mail? The thickness of the border seems to be one or two pixels wide and it's a real pain to zero in on the correct place to resize a window. If this is a common question that has already been answered, forgive me.

View 7 Replies View RelatedRunning under Vista Home Premium SP1. I just loaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 (which had been running previously under WinXP with 500MB RAM) into my new PC with 3GB RAM. It would not run and requested that I increase Windows Virtual RAM! Task Manager shows RAM with Total=2939MB, Cached=2080MB, and Free=20MB. My first guess is that the problem has to do with having an administrator and five standard users, four of whom are minimum-user kids and should be removed (along with the kids).

I can no longer use the restore system, since it has been too long since the

While browsing files and folders I've noticed something extreemly annoying. You can see the size of individual files in the Size column but you cant see the folder's contents size. This extreemly frustrating and I cant seem to find where I can enable that function. I know you can scroll your mouse over folders one at a time and a window will apear and you can see the size then, but thats just inconveniant for what Im doing. I need to be able to glance at multiple folder sizes constantly.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've seen numerous posts out there about how to get Vista to remember the size and position of Windows Explorer. Altering registry keys, holding down Alt, Ctrl, or Shift while closing etc. None of these worked reliably for me. Here's what I've stumbled across that works in my Vista Home Premium 32bit:
* Position and size Windows Explorer as desired.
* Select the Computer folder (via Navigation Pane or Address Bar)
* Close Windows Explorer (no need to hold down any keys)
I finally found a fix for the above problem and you two surely deserve to know what it is. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Microsoft > Internet Explorer > Settings > I modified Always Use My Font Size from (1) to (0). Initially, I was doing my searching using the entire computer and it literally took hours. Since I knew that searching KEY_CURRENT_USERS was a waste of time (you had already suggested deleting Windows Mail), I only searched for key words using LOCAL MACHINE. This allowed me to shorten search times to a reasonalbe amount.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI put together a new system, and the hard drive shows its true size (250GB) in the bios, however during the windows vista 64bit installation the hard drive says its only 232 GB. I then exited the installtion and restarted. It still said it was 232GB. I continued on with the installation hoping to see if it would change once Windows was installed with all the drivers. I paritioned the drive so that windows would be 50GB and the rest of the drive would be for whatever i wanted and i would split it up later. I proceeded to format the remainder of the hard drive before i went on to install windows, and it stayed there for a while and then i realised it locked up and i got a BSOD.
I reset the computer, and went on to install windows and i didnt bother to format the remainder of the hard drive. Windows installed without any problems, but when i get to windows, the drive still shows as 232GB. I ran a memory test from a Kubuntu CD and its not the ram.
I started by setting up "Switch between Windows" Now I would like to do away with this feature. Tired of the windows opening up in half size and I have to go to Restore each time I want to look at the whole picture. Full Screen is what I want.
