how can i transfer a windows mail folder ( and about 30 sub folders) to a usb drive. ultimatley, from there i'd like to import them into MS outlook on another computer. if that can't be done, i can use windows mail on the other one.
View 4 RepliesSorry, I could not find the correct place to post this. Basically some how I accidently moved my Contacts folder into my Windows folder. Now the Windows folder template has dissapeared and in place of it is the Contact template, when I open it i can add and remove contacts but inside the folder is all of the Windows sub folders. How do I get this back to normal please, I am afraid someone else will hop on my computer and carelesly delete my contacts folder which contains all those subfolders. I did try one result i saw about going into regedit and deleting those "Bag" files but they didnt work.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi can't get my vista machine to open a folder in the same window. Since about 3 days ago, my folders open up in their own windows and to my knowledge, nothing has changed. The option is checked in the folders option area, but no luck. Even tried numerous registry entries with no luck as well. From what i've heard, this was an old vista bug from pre-sp1 days, but i can't seem to find a fix if any.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWe are all familliar with "Explore" and the Tree structure on the left side, vs "Open", which opens a folder in a single window. Normally, in Explore, as you click on the folders you travel thru the tree and can pretty quickly navigate thru the system, whereas with Open, you can get there, but it isn't quite as easy if you take a wrong turn to back out & recover. Explore is a good name for that option, as that's what it's best for. It also means you don't have to have two windows open to move files, as you can drag to any folder in the nav pane with relative ease. With Open you're better off with multiple open windows for those file relocation tricks..................

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got this problem after I installed Vista SP1. Inside Windows Explorer, when I double click a folder in the right pane, that folder is opened up as a new second window. No matter what I change in the settings window I cant get rid of this. If I instead right-click the folder and select "Browse", the folder contents is shown in the same window, but (as I said) double click the folder icon, a new window opens up. Seems to me that "double-clicking" a folder in the right pane triggers the "Open" action instead of "Browse" action.

View 7 Replies View RelatedLet it be known that if you purchase the above OS, you will not be able to transfer any of your e-mail messages or contacts from your old 32 bit system to the new 64 bit system. Even if you attempt to download Outlook Express, it is 32 bit and will not download and instal, therefore, you can't imnport your Outlook files into Outlook Express to convert their file extension to something compatible with Windows Mail, which is the new e-mail program.
OH, before I forget, I want to thank Microsoft for the laser/wireless mouse and keyboard configuration. My Device Manager does not recognize the keyboard as a wireless keyboard, instead it ;ists it as a "HID", (Human Input Device", or dome crap like that, and my mouse and keyboard continually freeze.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to transfer files & settings using the Belkin Easy Transfer cable from an XP computer to a Vista computer. All starts well by showing that the two computers are connected. But after finding the files and settings and providing the amount of data to be transferred, it starts gathering information but then shows a flashing disconnection icon in the upper right of both computers' transfer windows and freezes. This happens at a different place each time, but early in the procedure (after about 10 minutes). Would anyone have any advice? I have done everything by the book, as far as I'm aware.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIn my previous email program of choice, Outlook Express, I used to beable to select the "to" function within the email message template and see a display of contacts that included the FOLDERS. In Windows Mail, the same action calls up ALL the contacts and NO folders. ALthough I can select multiple contacts from the Windows Contacts folder and through "action", install them in the "To" pane of an email message, I cannot jump from folder to folder to, for example, select contacts within another folder whom I wish to CC on the same message. The "Action" sequence always generates a new email template, posting any selected contact or contacts to the "To" pane.
I do not wish to create GROUPS and then go through the convoluted process of calling up the group in the "To" pane, and then deleting the ones I don't want. Needless to say, this feature was critical to my email flow and organization. Am I missing something? I have checked every forum and group I can. Others report the same issue without resolution. One forum individual said, "That's the way Windows Mail is".

It has been entered over and over. Rebooted, created new email account, verified username and password with server.

I just set up window mail and it works fine, but the question is why all email from yahoo (Transfer from) imported to window mail and left none in yahoo it self. I would like to know if I can transfer back to original or safe all the mail from window mail, so I can use them in other computer.
