I know how to get Incompatible games to work is the simple answer. I will be here during my time on this forum correcting any issues for games. Dungeon Keeper is one of my all time favourite games, took me about a week to find this fix, been working on it really hard. You don't need DosBox, or Virtual Servers etc, just Windows Vista, and Dungeon Keeper. I am at work at the moment, so I can't post what to do to make it work, but will do shortly, on my break or something.
im not sure what system im using but it have xp and vista system... (not duel boot). Im using limited user on vista/xp but some of my game does not work like gameguard. anyhow to recover administrator password?? the debug administrator is lock(has pw cant open) and my brother don let me play games. i did try other method but dint work.
i cant reset the password from a cmd and i cant reset the password with boot(if boot. it will clear everything than im dead meat) anyway,if there is anyway to disable gameguard or recover the password using C:WINDOWSSystem32 ???
On vista (32bit), Game Overlay doesn't seem to work...Maybe because game overlay doesn't support directx10 So should i instal directx9? what would directx9 change? Or can anybody tell me how to let game overlay run with directx10? (btw, I would like to use gameoverlay in guild wars)
i have a problem my call of duty dont work i can start i but i first 2 sreens thet i am week not have reset then i clik yes and agian yes en then i i can not to the game i error make me the problem who know my problem
Okay, I'm hoping someone can help me out with this. The start screen comes up, but when I click "play" a small black window titled Oblivion comes up. However, it will not let me enlarge the window or change from simply a black screen. It says it is not responding in task manager, and I have to end the program.
I have an Inspiron 1420 with Vista. I checked and my system meets all minimum requirements, and my video card driver is up to date.
My DVD's have always run problem-free until today. I bought a brand-new DVD of a brand-new release and it won't run. I spent about an hour chatting with HP and trying different things - the tech finally concluded the DVD was incompatible with Vista.
New Toshiba A300 laptop with Vista Business pre-installed. Wlan drivers were not installed or supplied which I thought odd but went to Toshiba site and downloaded and installed driver for:"wlan-intel-3945-4965-v1200730-vista32.zip". From the start connection was very hit and miss, if I persevered and kept trying diagnosing and repairing the connection it might connect or might not. Now it won't connect at all. From previous experience I knew that a misconfigured firewall could cause problems so I uninstalled the trial version of McAfee and turned off Windows firewall, I intended to install Zone Alarm anyway. Also disabled router firewall. No difference at all.
Setup: New Vista PC (bargain-rack special - a bare-bones office machine with Vista Home Basic) has a built-in VGA adapter. I want to do the two-monitor setup, so I plugged in my ATI video card as the second video driver. Problem: When I boot the machine, I get the following error: Incompatible display adapter has been disabled. At least one display adapter on the system has been disabled because its driver is not compatible with the driver for the VGA adapter.
What I find odd, though perhaps it is not odd to you, is that the internal driver was the one disabled - the ATI card is now defaulted as the main (and only enabled) driver. In Control Panel, it does not say that the drivers or controllers are disabled, but instead that there are problems. Clicking on Troubleshoot does nothing at all.
This is an old list from BETA RC1 so a lot may not apply after the latest updates by microsoft to the released version of Vista. Feel Free to add or remove any of the following information:.....
I use Verizon Wireless Vzaccess (wireless card) as my internet provider. I have my Windows Mail set up, however, everytime I try to use it, it automatically disconnects me from the internet. I have not problems using my Windows Mail with other internet providers.
the game has installed but once tryin to load it says this
Error3:
Your system does not meet the minimum requirements for ( The game) (suberror 7). Your video card must support hardware acceleration and have at least 15 megabytes of video Ram available. i fyour video card doesnt support compressed textures it must have at least 64 megabytes if video RAM available.
I have tried going into the display settings and advanced settings then troubleshooting but my computer does not allow me to change it as the icon is grayed out.
the details of my graphics card are
operating system: windows vista tm home premium (6.0, build 6001)
Just got Vista (32). Battlefield 1942 expansion installed fine. runs for a second or 2 then crashes. Tried to reinstal, same thing. Came up with (game failed, game closing)?
I can sucessfully load up the game and all however whenever i try to join a multiplayer game(says "Joining Server... then crashes" or finish loading a single player game(after the textures are loaded or the shaders it just crashes) OR whenever i click audio in settings my game(right after i click audio it just goes boom) just crashes back to desktop with the BF2142.exe error. I've read about many different crashes with other people but this seems different, people have had crashes during map changes, splash screen, and a few secs after joining the server, havent seen anyone with my problem of crashing when i see the "joining server.." box.
I've tried 1)reinstalling/repatching 2)run the exe as admin. 3)disable UAC and reinstall/repatch after restart
Im pretty sure my computer can handle the game, my old one did fine and this one owns it. Im kind of lost, I've tried many things and this freaking game just doesnt want to work.
I installed SS2 on this PC (runs windows vista home premium 32bit), but sadly the game won't run correctly. I've looked around a little bit, and I see that not watching the videos is a common problem. But that's not my main problem <:/ I can run the game just fine for about 30 seconds... suddenly, it just freezes. The last sound is looped, and the mouse is frozen.
Recently, for literally no odd reason my screensavers decided to stop working. I'm getting the "Incompatible with Direct3d" error message, but the thing is is hat my screensavers have worked before on the exact same Drivers I'm using now. I'm running Intel 965 Chipset Express Family graphics, with the latest drivers also the ones recommended by Windows Update)
I finally decided to upgrade to Vista, and since I have 4GB ram I thought I'd give 64bit a shot. Every game I play crashes, or fails to load at all, or gets into the game and crashes during map load. I have Vista Ultimate 64 installed. I have installed and re-installed the OS multiple times to no effect. I've downloaded all of the windows updates. During one of my first installs of vista, I was able to get in to games of codwaw, but then it would crash after about 5 secs.......
i can't alt-tab out of a steam game, counter-strike. it's never done this before, and i'm trying to think of what i may have done for this to occur, but nothing comes to me. the only thing i can do to get out of the game is by quitting the game itself, or ctrl-alt-del to task manager. when i go to task manager, it says that the "aero" theme of vista isn't compatible with the game. like i said, it's never had this problem before.
I found an old game, DUNE2, and tried to run it. I received an error message that my system does not support fullscreen mode. I am running Vista Ultimate 32-bit.
I play World of Warcraft for a long time now. First i started play on windows XP with my internet ADSL (3mbs speed). But then i bought a new PC and came with windows Vista. I like working with this OS, its cool. But now i can hardly play my favorite game. because I have a big lag in the game (4/5 ms). can anyone tell what i have to do to reduce my lag??
Im on black and white 2 and I really need to mod it! I went on the files and guess what? I modifed it for it to be easier and it came up that it cant find the file or path! (Happens after saving modified file)
i've had vista 64 ultimate sp1 for awhile and decided to install call of duty 4, at the end of the install it wants to install dx9 and i think vista 64 ultimate has dx10 so i declined the dx9 install. when i try to run the game it wont run but calls for a file named D3DX9_34.DLL does anybody know the fix ?
I've got a Gateway FX7026 pc. 24" lcd monitor Q9300 quad cpu 2.5ghz nvidia gf 8800 512mb 4gb ram
I can't play Quake wars enemy territory, can't play cyris, battlefield 2 demo won't work. All these are demo. Age of empires 3 and war chiefs work just fine.
in the games that don't work they will eventually lock up after a minute to 3 minutes. you also see tons of weird very fast moving lines all over the screen. not sure how to describe it. can take a screenshot if possible.
Temp is fine im sure as is ram etc.
is this a video card being dead issue or what could it be? i am guessing hardware cus this happens in more then one game and the same thing and it happens in both vista and xp. i have prebuilt with the pc it came with vista home premium sp1 64bit and i installed on the second hard drive xp sp3 pro and both oses and the same games have the same issues.
I installed newest nvidia 64bit drivers for vista and the issue still happened.
I'm totally clueless here. My guess is i'll have to take it where I got it for a replacement which is fine as i'm under warranty for 2 total years from when i bought this pc a few months ago.
doing a recovery on the pc doesn't help either. I'm also not running any software other then the game.
i don't have any other issues on the pc, just these ones mentioned in here.
They tell me to uninstall from the control panel. ie go to START,CONTROL PANEL,PROGRAMS etc. so i've highlighted it in the list-normally i would just click UNINSTALL but they tell me to only use the copy/paste method. How do i do this.? I only know how to copy/paste my registration key in to the initial download, never ever done it before so i'm not clear on how i do it while the title is in the list amongst everything else.
I had a game I wanted ot make work but DEP kept stopping it so I turned off DEP by using the command prompt. bcdedit.exe/set {current] nx AlwaysOff and it worked. I then restarted Vista and all I get is a quick flash of a blue crseen and then two options, 1) Repair and 2) Start normally. I have restored to an earlier point, I have also tried safe mode, I pressed F8 and tried starting with last known working settings and also F8 then a repair option, opened a command prompt and tried reversing the command but it didn't seem to do anything.
is my IL2 Sturmovik forgotten battles won't play. It loads no problem but when you click play the next icon(shows a russian plan) appears the screen flicks and thats it
i insert the disc and it does nothing. i then go to drive e to open and manually install it and it says please insert a disc, but theres already a disc in there.
I am trying to run British Open Championship Golf/ Looking Glass Technologies 1997 ( I have the 2 disc set )...Shipped with Active Movie 1.0 System requirement Windows 95 w/ DirectX 3.0 Min Pentium 60 Mhz ...Picture freezes. Also an AppHangB1 error. I did try to run game in "Windows 95" compatability mode with no luck.
I've downloaded StepMania onto my computer so that i can play DDR and I have a game pad and a USB converter too so I configured everything and I'm really having no trouble but when i play the computer is reading the arrows as an analog and not separate buttons this really isn't and issue except for when i am holding one arrow down and i press on the other it only reads one making double notes impossible.
so i went into the control pannel, went into game controllers, and it says that it is a 4 axis 16 button joystick and when i go to properties and press the arrows it moves the axes in the direction of whatever arrow i press and only moves one way when I press both arrows...so my prediction was correct...what i can't figure out though is how to program the pad to read as buttons instead of a joystick axes?
