5-10 Second Lag In Game Play
Jul 14, 2009I have my WoW installed on a separate partition, b/c I thought this would speed it up (something about the computer not having to look through ALL of its memory during game play). However, whenever my computer does ANYTHING else, I experience a 5-10 second lag in game play. I have a 2 Ghz dual processor and over 200 gigs of space on my main drive (the WoW drive has 15/30 gigs being used right now). Is the problem being caused by WoW being on a separate partition? if so, would removing that partition fix the problem? And can I do that without reinstalling WoW (WoW regularly updates with patches downloaded from the internet, which would take several hours to redownload and install).

Jun 6, 2009I've just buy the first f.e.a.r., and it seems I can't play it. I can install it, but when I start to play, the screen become more colorful than a rainbow and my computer crash. My question is, does f.e.a.r. is compatible with vista 64 bit home premium sp 1? I don't really understand that I can play Crysis, but not f.e.a.r.! Does anyone have the same problem? I've tried to run this game as an administrator, and to run it in compatibility mode, but nothing seems to do the trick. I've installed the latest driver for my graphic card, etc, etc....

Reguardless of the game or age thereof. it may be linked to this message that pops up every time the computer starts up but im not sure. BFG 9800 Card Play Game?
Dec 17, 2008i ordered my 1st ever graphics card a BFG 9800 GT OC 512MB from play.com for £117,as i wanted to buy a few games n memory as well. so will my card play games ok? I also bought 2GB PNY DDR2 667Mhz for just £12. I wont be able to buy a new motherboard till febuary which sucks as i can only go as far as 2GB Ram on the 1 I've got Oh yeh some of the other BFG cards at play.com come with a 425W power supply,but no mention of it with mine,would i need 2 buy 1 straight away?

Aug 12, 2009my dad just bought me this computer its a e machines EL1300G-01W its rating is 3/10... He's not very good with computers so he didn't know..he thought he'd buy me a 298$ desktop and I'd be happy.. I can't open Emulators for (SNES, NES, DS, ETC...) I can't play anything on Yoyogames... with small programs it gets 100% CPU Usage.. My computer model is un-upgradable.. I can only upgrade the ram..thats about it...it only has one PCI 1 slot and not enough room for my new graphics card that needs a PCI-Express 16x slot.. What the hell do I do with this?? My dad won't bring it back for a refund... It is better then my other computer but it still lags like crazy..

I just installed Dungeon Keeper 2 and applied the 1.7 patch that came on the disc with it, then did the compatibility options stuff under the properties tab. Oct 24, 2008I have nVidia as per title, but when I want to play HD 1080p videos through VLC player I come into problems. It starts of 1-2 second then stops, while you can hear the sound, then plays the video for another 1-2 second and stops again, while you can hear the sound.When attempts to play the video, it jumps to where video should be together with the soudn you can see pixels and very slow movements and it stops again. Almost it seems that it is buffering the video while attempting to play it in the same time. I know that max resolution is 2560x1600 which is more then enough to 1080p HD videos. I have 17" monitor, Q6600, 4GB ram. how can I play 1080p HD file without having video output start stop. Aug 10, 2009while back I had a Windows XP PC but it got dumb and crashed. So I just got my new Tower Which is Windows Vista-x64(Home Premium.) On my old machine I had a game I new and loved called Rayman 2 that isn't compatible to Vista. So my only option was to install it under Microsoft VPC 2007. It did Install but It wouldn't play. Here is the issue: I go To play the game and an error pops up that said I need to install DirectX 6.0 so I did. It didnt matter tho cuz I still had the error. So then I realized the error as telling me to configure the Graphics so It had another error when I Opened The "GXSetup."
Which was this: error1.jpg It Didn't Really matter because it still let me open the exe. But HERE IS WHERE THE REAL PROBLEM STARTED. The program successfully opened! But This is what it contained: MajorError.jpg My only thought was what the f*ck I am going to scream. Because from what it looks like Virtual PC Wasn't Detecting Much or anything at all to do with Graphics (the dropdown arrows contain absolutely nothing).

Every game I play crashes, or fails to load at all, or gets into the game and crashes during map load. I have Vista Ultimate 64 installed. I have installed and re-installed the OS multiple times to no effect. I've downloaded all of the windows updates. During one of my first installs of vista, I was able to get in to games of codwaw, but then it would crash after about 5 secs.......

I have tried going into the display settings and advanced settings then troubleshooting but my computer does not allow me to change it as the icon is grayed out.

Aug 2, 2007I can sucessfully load up the game and all however whenever i try to join a multiplayer game(says "Joining Server... then crashes" or finish loading a single player game(after the textures are loaded or the shaders it just crashes) OR whenever i click audio in settings my game(right after i click audio it just goes boom) just crashes back to desktop with the BF2142.exe error. I've read about many different crashes with other people but this seems different, people have had crashes during map changes, splash screen, and a few secs after joining the server, havent seen anyone with my problem of crashing when i see the "joining server.." box.
I've tried
1)reinstalling/repatching
2)run the exe as admin.
3)disable UAC and reinstall/repatch after restart
Im pretty sure my computer can handle the game, my old one did fine and this one owns it. Im kind of lost, I've tried many things and this freaking game just doesnt want to work.
Game Freezes: Game Won't Run Correctly
Jan 5, 2008I installed SS2 on this PC (runs windows vista home premium 32bit), but sadly the game won't run correctly. I've looked around a little bit, and I see that not watching the videos is a common problem. But that's not my main problem <:/ I can run the game just fine for about 30 seconds... suddenly, it just freezes. The last sound is looped, and the mouse is frozen.

Sep 18, 2009i can't alt-tab out of a steam game, counter-strike. it's never done this before, and i'm trying to think of what i may have done for this to occur, but nothing comes to me. the only thing i can do to get out of the game is by quitting the game itself, or ctrl-alt-del to task manager. when i go to task manager, it says that the "aero" theme of vista isn't compatible with the game. like i said, it's never had this problem before.

I can't play Quake wars enemy territory, can't play cyris, battlefield 2 demo won't work. All these are demo. Age of empires 3 and war chiefs work just fine.
in the games that don't work they will eventually lock up after a minute to 3 minutes. you also see tons of weird very fast moving lines all over the screen. not sure how to describe it. can take a screenshot if possible.
Temp is fine im sure as is ram etc.
is this a video card being dead issue or what could it be? i am guessing hardware cus this happens in more then one game and the same thing and it happens in both vista and xp. i have prebuilt with the pc it came with vista home premium sp1 64bit and i installed on the second hard drive xp sp3 pro and both oses and the same games have the same issues.
I installed newest nvidia 64bit drivers for vista and the issue still happened.
I'm totally clueless here. My guess is i'll have to take it where I got it for a replacement which is fine as i'm under warranty for 2 total years from when i bought this pc a few months ago.
doing a recovery on the pc doesn't help either. I'm also not running any software other then the game.
i don't have any other issues on the pc, just these ones mentioned in here.
Cant Uninstall Game
Oct 8, 2009They tell me to uninstall from the control panel. ie go to START,CONTROL PANEL,PROGRAMS etc. so i've highlighted it in the list-normally i would just click UNINSTALL but they tell me to only use the copy/paste method. How do i do this.? I only know how to copy/paste my registration key in to the initial download,never ever done it before so i'm not clear on how i do it while the title is in the list amongst everything else.

Jun 30, 2009I had a game I wanted ot make work but DEP kept stopping it so I turned off DEP by using the command prompt. bcdedit.exe/set {current] nx AlwaysOff and it worked. I then restarted Vista and all I get is a quick flash of a blue crseen and then two options, 1) Repair and 2) Start normally. I have restored to an earlier point, I have also tried safe mode, I pressed F8 and tried starting with last known working settings and also F8 then a repair option, opened a command prompt and tried reversing the command but it didn't seem to do anything.
