I just got my new system and am now running Vista Home Premium. I just installed Dungeon Keeper 2 and applied the 1.7 patch that came on the disc with it, then did the compatibility options stuff under the properties tab. The game loads up no problems but during game play all I can see is a bunch of tiny black squares all over the screen. Tried fiddling with the graphics settings in game but nothing seems to work

My computer freeze for 2-5 second, next is black screen for 2seconds(as monitor is shuted down) and next is black screen while i don't stop the game. Next I see this-> I hope that you solve my problem(and see that image) BTW: if this problem was solved on this forum sorry, but on system instantForum i was never been and i don't know how it control. But now, when I play and there is too many ppl around me or too many skills cast, im getting a black screen, like a flash of 2 - 3 secs and sometimes more.. Before i re installed vista, everything was okay, i could run WoW easily without any lags.. EDIT: When I got too many of those " black flashes " my pc crash..my pc specs sux but I could run WoW, counter-strike: source without any lags before..

But now, I reinstalled the game to play it again and it just got stuck on the Starting Screen or just plain BLACK Screen! I can still play some MMORPG like Sword of the New World: Granado Espada or the recently Closed-Beta, Luna Online just fine. I don't know what I did wrong with my Dell XPS Laptop.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have my WoW installed on a separate partition, b/c I thought this would speed it up (something about the computer not having to look through ALL of its memory during game play). However, whenever my computer does ANYTHING else, I experience a 5-10 second lag in game play. I have a 2 Ghz dual processor and over 200 gigs of space on my main drive (the WoW drive has 15/30 gigs being used right now). Is the problem being caused by WoW being on a separate partition? if so, would removing that partition fix the problem? And can I do that without reinstalling WoW (WoW regularly updates with patches downloaded from the internet, which would take several hours to redownload and install).

I can install it, but when I start to play, the screen become more colorful than a rainbow and my computer crash. My question is, does f.e.a.r. is compatible with vista 64 bit home premium sp 1? I don't really understand that I can play Crysis, but not f.e.a.r.! Does anyone have the same problem? Reguardless of the game or age thereof. it may be linked to this message that pops up every time the computer starts up but im not sure. i ordered my 1st ever graphics card a BFG 9800 GT OC 512MB from play.com for £117,as i wanted to buy a few games n memory as well. so will my card play games ok? I also bought 2GB PNY DDR2 667Mhz for just £12. I wont be able to buy a new motherboard till febuary which sucks as i can only go as far as 2GB Ram on the 1 I've got Oh yeh some of the other BFG cards at play.com come with a 425W power supply,but no mention of it with mine,would i need 2 buy 1 straight away?

He's not very good with computers so he didn't know..he thought he'd buy me a 298$ desktop and I'd be happy.. I can't open Emulators for (SNES, NES, DS, ETC...) I can't play anything on Yoyogames... with small programs it gets 100% CPU Usage.. My computer model is un-upgradable.. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have nVidia as per title, but when I want to play HD 1080p videos through VLC player I come into problems. It starts of 1-2 second then stops, while you can hear the sound, then plays the video for another 1-2 second and stops again, while you can hear the sound.When attempts to play the video, it jumps to where video should be together with the soudn you can see pixels and very slow movements and it stops again. Almost it seems that it is buffering the video while attempting to play it in the same time. I know that max resolution is 2560x1600 which is more then enough to 1080p HD videos. I have 17" monitor, Q6600, 4GB ram. how can I play 1080p HD file without having video output start stop. Went an downloaded trial version of CoreAVC and was able to play it through Windows media player

i installed cricket 2004 in my laptop with 1gb ram. unfortunately the game requires only 64mb of ram. so my game runs very faster that i culdnt play on it. i want to restrict the memory size that is allocated to that application.
View 6 Replies View Relatedwhile back I had a Windows XP PC but it got dumb and crashed. So I just got my new Tower Which is Windows Vista-x64(Home Premium.) On my old machine I had a game I new and loved called Rayman 2 that isn't compatible to Vista. So my only option was to install it under Microsoft VPC 2007. It did Install but It wouldn't play. Here is the issue: I go To play the game and an error pops up that said I need to install DirectX 6.0 so I did. It didnt matter tho cuz I still had the error. So then I realized the error as telling me to configure the Graphics so It had another error when I Opened The "GXSetup."
Which was this: error1.jpg It Didn't Really matter because it still let me open the exe. But HERE IS WHERE THE REAL PROBLEM STARTED. The program successfully opened! But This is what it contained: MajorError.jpg My only thought was what the f*ck I am going to scream. Because from what it looks like Virtual PC Wasn't Detecting Much or anything at all to do with Graphics (the dropdown arrows contain absolutely nothing).
I finally decided to upgrade to Vista, and since I have 4GB ram I thought I'd give 64bit a shot. Every game I play crashes, or fails to load at all, or gets into the game and crashes during map load. I have Vista Ultimate 64 installed. I have installed and re-installed the OS multiple times to no effect. I've downloaded all of the windows updates. During one of my first installs of vista, I was able to get in to games of codwaw, but then it would crash after about 5 secs.......
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am building a new system and have a new copy of Vista Home Premium 32bit.
I got it all put together and tried to load Vista. It got to the Windows is loading files screen and then screen in getting black video. Keyboad and mouse stopped working at times. So I updated the board BIO's per intel through iso image and same thing. So I tried installing XP and got to the F8 screen to accept lic. and it just reboots everytime.
Any ideas why Vista would stop? Added the info about the XP install so it may help.

I have recently bought a new PC running Windows Vista Home Premium. I have loaded the above programs for my son and when they a running the screen is not centred and the is a black bar to the right of the screen approx 3 cm wide. I have tried to run the games in compatibility mode and as adminstrator as recommended with other games but with no success.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having a very wierd issue with vista's screen saver. So basically when I leave the comp idle it goes into screen saver then turns off the monitor after 15 mins. Sometimes, more often than not, I come back and move the mouse and hit a few keys on the keyboard and nothing. The monitor wont come out of standby I try turning it off and back on, and nothing. I have the latest drivers for everything in my system and I checked the power management settings and they both are able to wake the computer up. I have a G15 keyboard and I keep the leds on and when this happens the leds are off and the lazer for the mouse is off too.

My one guess is its something to do with the display driver maybe because that has been stuffing up a bit of late, in the way of the screen going black for a couple of seconds then recovering.
Why do I get black picture after I have pressed PrtSc button? Of course it shouldn't be black and it happens only when the screen is on full screen mode (for an example videos, games etc.). View 6 Replies View RelatedAlrighty I went off to work with my pc turned on a few days ago, I come back and the screen is black and nothing I do is responsive to the screen. I then reboot the Pc it leading to a blue screen. Some times when I reboot it will blue screen some times it will just be a black screen that is un responsive. I have tried f8 options in advance boot optiotns, Ive tried re installing windows- it claiming my disk is full. Ive tried system restore it also says I have a disk failure. It wont let me check errors in the properties options on my hard drive. I have done a virus scan(no virus's) and I have 300gigs left of space.
View 8 Replies View Relatedis that when he tries to delete some files that he previously stored in the C:"Account Name",he gets a message saying that the file is unavailable in the specified location.However,that is not my main problem now,because when I was trying to help fix this problem I typed "msconfig" into the RUN box to get the startup utility box and I unchecked some of the background programs to prevent them from loading automatically when the system starts,in order to speed up the system;but when I restarted the system I can see the first screen, which is by the manufacturer of the labtop;then when vista starts loading, the screen becomes black and don't display anything,although I am sure that Vista is loading successfully but I cannot see it on the screen.
I am assuming that one of the programs that I have unchecked is responsible for displaying. I have tried to do a repair installation by using a bootable Vista DVD but I couldn't because I cannot see anything on the screen.I tried logging in on safe mode but that did not work either. How can I undo the changes that I have made to startup utility.
I have two users set-up, user K (with Administrator rights I believe and a password) and user N. If I login as user K, after I enter my password my computer will run for a bit (I can see/hear it logging in) but after a few minutes the screen goes black except for my white cursor and nothing else happens. If I then hit ctrl-alt-del I can see the Task Manager and switch users to user N which will start up normally and give me access to my desktop.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have tried installing many different games on my pc, which are quite new and have been released in the last few years. The installation goes fine, and everything is great. When it comes to launching the game, well, i double click the file to run the game, and i get a black screen. Nothing happens afterwards. It just stays black. 'Ctrl + Alt + Delete' does not work, and neither does 'Alt + Tab', or any other keyboard shortcuts. This results in me having to hold in the power button and turn my pc off like that.
Any idea's on what could be wrong? It is extremely frustrating, due to the fact that i've tried running about 3 - 5 games on my computer, and neither of them work, without a black screen coming up after trying to launch any of them. I've tried numerous things like 'Running as Administrator' and changing compatibillity modes and so on and so forth, but none of that works.
I was having a weird problem with my screen going black at random after installing any version of Vista, and kept having to force a restart because there was no way to get the screen to come back on. I searched all the forums and it seemed to be very common, but as with most of the forums everyone was argueing about how to fix the problem instead of helping the people with the problem. So I'm posting this one in the hope that it may just help one or two people with the same problem.
My remedy was simply to update the BIOS to the latest version P32 I think from the XFX website, and the problem was no more, I also updated the High def audio driver from the same site, now my machine has been running flawlessly for three days now.
