As said I am strictly Windows.' But if I play with Linux, it's NovellSUSE Not Debian-based Ubuntu, which is funded, di doyu know? By Mark Shuttleworth, remember S.A. entrepreneur whos epaid for a SpaceShuttle trip and changed hi slastname? He makes money on Extended TechSupport for Ubuntu, no tmuch money but Ubuntu is not entirely free, problem it creates pitiful amount of jobs & is as inferior to Windows, as free healthcare would be to commercial. Nothing good is free in this world, except natural commodities like air, and even that is a limited & increasingly polluted resources
Nothing sux more than something you don't pay for, when you grow up & realize you spent years on playing with Hobbyist Operating System. Again if I play with it, it's SUSE. SUSE is simply closer to commercial quality, yes you will say Novell is in bed with Microsoft. So WHAT??? In fact it's a good sign.
is my IL2 Sturmovik forgotten battles won't play. It loads no problem but when you click play the next icon(shows a russian plan) appears the screen flicks and thats it
I have my WoW installed on a separate partition, b/c I thought this would speed it up (something about the computer not having to look through ALL of its memory during game play). However, whenever my computer does ANYTHING else, I experience a 5-10 second lag in game play. I have a 2 Ghz dual processor and over 200 gigs of space on my main drive (the WoW drive has 15/30 gigs being used right now). Is the problem being caused by WoW being on a separate partition? if so, would removing that partition fix the problem? And can I do that without reinstalling WoW (WoW regularly updates with patches downloaded from the internet, which would take several hours to redownload and install).
I've just buy the first f.e.a.r., and it seems I can't play it. I can install it, but when I start to play, the screen become more colorful than a rainbow and my computer crash. My question is, does f.e.a.r. is compatible with vista 64 bit home premium sp 1? I don't really understand that I can play Crysis, but not f.e.a.r.! Does anyone have the same problem? I've tried to run this game as an administrator, and to run it in compatibility mode, but nothing seems to do the trick. I've installed the latest driver for my graphic card, etc, etc....
Whenever I play any game at full quality graphics, after some time the computer just freezes.....Does anybody know how to fix this My graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS Intel Core 2 Duo ....
Recently my windows vista/computer has been shuting itself down after a period of 10-15 minutes of gameplay. Reguardless of the game or age thereof. it may be linked to this message that pops up every time the computer starts up but im not sure. If there is anyone who knows how to fix this or knows of anyone who can help me please help me! This is the message that continues to pop up "Could not load file or assembly 'MOM.Implementation, Version=2.0.3555.28962,Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=90ba9c70f846762e' or one of its dependencies. the system cannot find the file specified.
I can't play Game and can't watch Movie in my Vista machine, it happens to all kind of games requiring to initialize the graphic, for example I play game like Plants vs Zombies, a screen with black screen will appear, and any windows moving about this game window, will leave a trace on the game window :
I have tried running the game as Administrator, to set compatibility mode to Windows XP SP 2. and it still not working, I even downloaded DirectX 10 and re-install it, but it still not working

my dad just bought me this computer its a e machines EL1300G-01W its rating is 3/10... He's not very good with computers so he didn't know..he thought he'd buy me a 298$ desktop and I'd be happy.. I can't open Emulators for (SNES, NES, DS, ETC...) I can't play anything on Yoyogames... with small programs it gets 100% CPU Usage.. My computer model is un-upgradable.. I can only upgrade the ram..thats about it...it only has one PCI 1 slot and not enough room for my new graphics card that needs a PCI-Express 16x slot.. What the hell do I do with this?? My dad won't bring it back for a refund... It is better then my other computer but it still lags like crazy..
I just got my new system and am now running Vista Home Premium. I just installed Dungeon Keeper 2 and applied the 1.7 patch that came on the disc with it, then did the compatibility options stuff under the properties tab. The game loads up no problems but during game play all I can see is a bunch of tiny black squares all over the screen. Tried fiddling with the graphics settings in game but nothing seems to work
I'm having trouble with my beloved Counter-Strike! In the middle of game play CS will just close on me, BAM! with no error messages or notifications; almost as if I ended the task. I'm new to the tech side of computers.
I have nVidia as per title, but when I want to play HD 1080p videos through VLC player I come into problems. It starts of 1-2 second then stops, while you can hear the sound, then plays the video for another 1-2 second and stops again, while you can hear the sound. When attempts to play the video, it jumps to where video should be together with the soudn you can see pixels and very slow movements and it stops again. Almost it seems that it is buffering the video while attempting to play it in the same time. I know that max resolution is 2560x1600 which is more then enough to 1080p HD videos. I have 17" monitor, Q6600, 4GB ram. how can I play 1080p HD file without having video output start stop. Went an downloaded trial version of CoreAVC and was able to play it through Windows media player
About a few months ago I can still play games like Combat Arms, Call of Duty 4, BioShock, and Dead Space at minimal performance. But now, I reinstalled the game to play it again and it just got stuck on the Starting Screen or just plain BLACK Screen! I can still play some MMORPG like Sword of the New World: Granado Espada or the recently Closed-Beta, Luna Online just fine. I don't know what I did wrong with my Dell XPS Laptop.
i installed cricket 2004 in my laptop with 1gb ram. unfortunately the game requires only 64mb of ram. so my game runs very faster that i culdnt play on it. i want to restrict the memory size that is allocated to that application.
while back I had a Windows XP PC but it got dumb and crashed. So I just got my new Tower Which is Windows Vista-x64(Home Premium.) On my old machine I had a game I new and loved called Rayman 2 that isn't compatible to Vista. So my only option was to install it under Microsoft VPC 2007. It did Install but It wouldn't play. Here is the issue: I go To play the game and an error pops up that said I need to install DirectX 6.0 so I did. It didnt matter tho cuz I still had the error. So then I realized the error as telling me to configure the Graphics so It had another error when I Opened The "GXSetup."
Which was this: error1.jpg It Didn't Really matter because it still let me open the exe. But HERE IS WHERE THE REAL PROBLEM STARTED. The program successfully opened! But This is what it contained: MajorError.jpg My only thought was what the f*ck I am going to scream. Because from what it looks like Virtual PC Wasn't Detecting Much or anything at all to do with Graphics (the dropdown arrows contain absolutely nothing).
You had better not be using Linux because they don't support Linux. "Most Linux users are serious computer users. We?re geeks, and geeks use a lot of internet. Wouldn?t it be wise of AT&T to just acknowledge us?" Linux users are an oddball bunch of less than 1 percent of the desktop populous.
"This is not the first time I?ve run into problems with AT&T pretending that the world consists entirely of Windows and Macintosh. Once I was helping someone else get a Linux system going with AT&T DSL, and they flat-out refused to give her the manual setup instructions for the connection if she couldn?t use the automated Windows or Mac installer. The tech told her? If you run Linux you should be able to figure it all out on your own. I won?t help you, and I won?t transfer you to anyone else.".............
I finally decided to upgrade to Vista, and since I have 4GB ram I thought I'd give 64bit a shot. Every game I play crashes, or fails to load at all, or gets into the game and crashes during map load. I have Vista Ultimate 64 installed. I have installed and re-installed the OS multiple times to no effect. I've downloaded all of the windows updates. During one of my first installs of vista, I was able to get in to games of codwaw, but then it would crash after about 5 secs.......
Quote: Last year Microsoft announced that it would end support for Windows Live OneCare, and turn instead to develop a new, free security product, code named Morro. We’ve heard that Morro has already been in limited alpha testing, that it’s based on the same security engine as Microsoft’s Forefront technology, and that most of the work for the new product is being handled by Microsoft in India. more: LiveSide
the game has installed but once tryin to load it says this

I have tried going into the display settings and advanced settings then troubleshooting but my computer does not allow me to change it as the icon is grayed out.
the details of my graphics card are
operating system: windows vista tm home premium (6.0, build 6001)
Just got Vista (32). Battlefield 1942 expansion installed fine. runs for a second or 2 then crashes. Tried to reinstal, same thing. Came up with (game failed, game closing)?
I'm using Vista Premium Home 64-bit and I've noticed that I have no Previous Versions Tab available on any of my files. I also changed the services (Micrososft Software Shadow Copy and VSS)to automatic.
I just got a vista computer yesterday. the people I had gotten it from said they installed a 64 bit system and 32 bit is what is reads on the system is 32 bit. what my question is. is the product key that is on the computer for a 64 bit or a 32 bit. and since a32 bit system was installed. if it should ever have to be reformatede, could it be done with the disk they gave me or does it have to be a 32 bit?
So I just upgraded from Windows XP to Vista x64. Since I got the retail packaged upgrade, I have both the x64 and x32 DVDs. I think I know the answer already, but, I take it that licensing would not allow me to activate both the x32 and x64 versions on the same PC, or seperate PCs for that matter?
I was having problems with my pc freezing. Took it in for a diognostic and everything came back fine. They said it was a Vista problem.
So, I reinstalled the operating system disk and put windows back on the PC.
Now when I turn on my PC I get the Windows Boot Manager screen asking to choose operationg system to star with two versions of Vista to choose from. The first on the list is the rebooted (new) version. If I click on the second one, it is my old version with all my old files and programs.
Funny thing is, I am not having any issues with the old version any more.(YET)
Is there anyway to get rid of the rebooted (new) version windows so I can stop getting the windows boot manager whenever I start the PC? I rather keep using the version with all my old programs and files since it seems to be fine.
Can some one tell me about history of DOS versions? and which version does vista & windows 7 contain?? and why windows "7" ??? where does this come from??
I know that there is a MS link out there, but I just cannot find it again. What versions of Windows XP and Vista can be upgraded to which versions of Windows 7?

Unhandled exception error has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. The detailed report is appended. It will be seen that .NETFrameworkv2.0 is involved. When I skip the message the program runs but a similar warning (not shown here) is repeated with nothing achieved.
This incident follows a skirmish fought on my system between .NET Framework 3.5 and .NET Framework 3.0 following the installation of Nero 9.0.9.4 and Nuance OmniPage 17 during which I ended up with both .NET 3.5 and 3.0 installed, as neither package would install with 3.5 alone. I am wondering whether I now also need to install .NET Framework 2.0. Ideally I suppose I am seeking a .NET environment that will cope with everything that is thrown at it. Is it OK to have multiple versions of .NET installed concurrently? Perhaps I should just backup and then edit the icon overlay? Where would that be? (I have icon editor IcoFX 1.6.4)......
I have both Minefield 64-bit and regular Firefox installed but whenever I run Minefield, Firefox always appears. I suspect its something to do with profiles but not sure.
I have automatic updates active (installation at night), but have not seen SP1 listed as an update on my computer or on "Windows Update". Is the service pack only for non-ultimate versions at this time? Or is there something I have to do? Or is Microsoft rolling out this a chunk at a time?
