Not sure if this is the right forum for this ?. But In my "pictures" folders i use to see the pics now i just see icons. I changed the default program back to Windows Photo Gallery from Picaso to no avail.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAll of my picture icons were changed to standard-generic icons when I had my computer restored to the factory direct setting. Now they don't display anything except a flower, house, ect. My question is: How do I change the picture icon setting back so I can see a tiny preview thingy for each icon, instead of having to click on each one to see what they really are?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI used to open a picture from Windows Photo Gallery and click E-mail and Windows Mail would automatically open for me to send the photo to my contacts. Now when I click E-mail, I get a dialogue box asking what file size to attach it as, I choose, and it closes. How can I bring back this feature?

When i look at a thumbnail of a picture it looks fine till i open it with windows picture gallery... it opens it and it looks all yellow and i have to "fix" every pic i look at, and it still doesn't look any better! Is there an update, patch, or seeting to fix this!!??

Using Vista Home Premium on HP Pavilion a6120n Computer why does Photo Gallery and an HP Officejet5610 All-in-One print only half of an intended 8 x 10 on Soft Gloss paper but the complete picture on regular paper ? This printer has had some other peculiarities but this is the latest. Other programs do print the 8 x 10 but the quality looks poorer.

I suspect I have a pop-up blocker on somewhere, but only found one and despite turning it off, the smiley still won`t send/attach. What am I doing wrong. View 4 Replies View Relatedi had to reinstall pc to shop bought condition after a lot of errors which are now gone but when i try a install a shortcut to desktop and try to open it i always get a box opening saying application not found, tried the online help and in that it told me what to do, but to no avail. Also when i go to online help i can only see boxes with a red cross in it.

I re-associated jpegs with the Photo Gallery, but whereas previously a double click on a jpg would open that image on its own in Photo Gallery, now it opens up the whole Gallery with 100's of thumbs.

View 5 Replies View RelatedA Vista SP1 Home Premium problem - 9 live icons covering 9 dead icons: Several days ago I had a desktop with 9 live, working icons at the bottom of the desktop. ie: recycle bin, computer, network, control panel, etc. The 9th icon was a folder called 'powershell'.
Several days ago I deleted the 'powershell' folder, and, underneath that folder, was surprised to find a dead copy of the 'powershell' folder. The deleted 'powershell' folder was in the recycle bin, and an undeleted dead copy on the desktop. This dead copy cannot be accessed with selection, left-click, or right-click operations - so the 'Properties' info cannot be displayed.........
Everytime I restart my PC, my desktop icons go where ever they want each time. What is causing this and is their a way to lock the icons in place?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been using Windows Vista Premium for over a year now. So far I've no problems with it yet. However, just recently, I noticed that the icons for the computer and recycle bin were gone. Futhermore, the icon for some of the folders on my computer were either blank or a icon of the computer. Some files (ranging from the .dll to .exe) were changed to the computer icon as well. The icons for the floppy drive and my usb also disappeared and are displayed by the icon that represents file that windows does not recognise. How I can restore these icons? I have tried a system restore back a week when they were all still good but that did not make a difference.

View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I just traded out my year old Gateway laptop (which stopped working) for a new Dell Inspiron. I've never been particularly impressed with Dell but the Tech Guy at Best Buy assured me the quality of their laptops had improved. Anyway, it came with Windows Vista Home Premium. Since it was a Dell it came loaded with a stardock with mac-like icons instead of desktop icons. I like it so I customized it with the icons for the programs I use most, stared typing up notes for medical school with MS Word, and started downloading music files.
So the other day I notice strangely that the dock had reverted back to the original icons that were present when I first got the computer. Then I noticed all of the files downloaded/saved to the harddrive had disappeared. So I start anew adding files and replacing most of the old ones. Then suddenly yesterday the dock changes again back to how it was...customized and the files that I originally had reappeared but now the files I saved when it changed the first time are gone. So what is going on? Is this some kind of glitch in the OS? Is there something wrong with the actual computer? how get my files back?
PG has won't respond. I have gone to the MS tutorial and tried renaming...did not work. I have also read there might be some sort of bad web address somewhere in a file, but cannot find this. I have pulled my hair out over this one. I have Photo Gallery, not Live Photo Gallery.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just recently did a format and reinstall of Vista 64 Ultimate and i've been having a problem with windows photo gallery. If theres a bunch of new pictures on my desktop and i go to click on one it will take around 30secs to load and and when it loads it will just freeze until it loads the others. I've never had this problem before and it only seems to happen on my desktop. If i view a new image on my other hard drives they load instantly, it just seems to happen on my windows drive. Anyone know what causes this to happen?. EDIT: I tried windows live photo gallery and that works fine, but i would like to have the original working as well.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWindows Photo Gallery doesnt display the proper colors in pictures and I can't figure out why. At first, I figured it was just a flaw somewhere adn I didn't worry too much about it because everything else looked fine. Just the photo gallery was messed up. Then, I replaced my geforce 7600 with a newer 8800 gts and reinstalled my OSs fresh for my annual clean up and same thing. Photo Gallery displays goofy colors. I'll provide an attachment for details. What's up with it? Take a look at the attachment. doesn't it look like some antique photo?
