Windows Picture Gallery Quality Does Not Look Better
Mar 23, 2008
I'm just wondering if anyone else is having a problem with this!? When i look at a thumbnail of a picture it looks fine till i open it with windows picture gallery... it opens it and it looks all yellow and i have to "fix" every pic i look at, and it still doesn't look any better! Is there an update, patch, or seeting to fix this!!??
What am I doing wrong ? Using Vista Home Premium on HP Pavilion a6120n Computer why does Photo Gallery and an HP Officejet5610 All-in-One print only half of an intended 8 x 10 on Soft Gloss paper but the complete picture on regular paper ? This printer has had some other peculiarities but this is the latest. Other programs do print the 8 x 10 but the quality looks poorer.
I don't want to delete my pics, but I don't want them in the gallery anymore. Help tells me to right click on a folder and then choose "remove from gallery." I don't have this option.
In the help menu it says to right click on folder then chose 'remove from gallery' but I am not getting that option! Is there another way to make certain folders private?
I used to open a picture from Windows Photo Gallery and click E-mail and Windows Mail would automatically open for me to send the photo to my contacts. Now when I click E-mail, I get a dialogue box asking what file size to attach it as, I choose, and it closes. How can I bring back this feature?
Not sure if this is the right forum for this ?. But In my "pictures" folders i use to see the pics now i just see icons. I changed the default program back to Windows Photo Gallery from Picaso to no avail.
I installed microsoft office 97(I found the CD) on my vista and each time i try to insert a picture or some clipart it will say" The clip Gallery Encountered and Error. Try restarting Windows or reinstalling microsoft office applications." and then it will stop responding and not save my work
OS - Vista Home Premium SP1. I accidently screwed my file associations (prob with CCleaner). I re-associated jpegs with the Photo Gallery, but whereas previously a double click on a jpg would open that image on its own in Photo Gallery, now it opens up the whole Gallery with 100's of thumbs.
I tried several searches but am unable to find out if you can adjust the DVD writing quality in Windows DVD Maker. I would like to have the best video reproduction quality as possible on the DVD.
I just installed Vista x64 and don't know what the difference between the "Windows Photo Gallery" that comes with Vista and the "Windows Live Photo Gallery" I can download. Is the download a newer version? Should I install it or just use the one that came with vista?
When I download pictures from my digital camera, it stores them all in one folder. Is there a way that I could download them into folders that it created by picture-taken date?
I just recently did a format and reinstall of Vista 64 Ultimate and i've been having a problem with windows photo gallery. If theres a bunch of new pictures on my desktop and i go to click on one it will take around 30secs to load and and when it loads it will just freeze until it loads the others. I've never had this problem before and it only seems to happen on my desktop. If i view a new image on my other hard drives they load instantly, it just seems to happen on my windows drive. Anyone know what causes this to happen?. EDIT: I tried windows live photo gallery and that works fine, but i would like to have the original working as well.
I have no idea how it happened but Windows Photo Gallery wont open my gif images. Even when I use Default Programs in Control Panel, it would revert to being opened in Explorer
Windows Photo Gallery does not recognize my network, HP Laserjet printer. The printer is the default printer for Windows Vista but when I try to add it to Photo Gallery the program shuts down in error. How can I print pictures to this device?
I have been using Vista Ultimate x64 for the last 5 months and have to say it's been a massive learing curve due to its fragility - 4 full rebuilds in the last 4 months - and not much fun when using SATA RAID. Anyway, got up yesterday morning, turned on the computer and it had managed to corrupt itself yet again: Windows Defender, Windows Picture Viewer and a host of desktop icons refused to find their pathways home and so decided against a full rebuild and started the repair option with a boot to the DVD. I set this off running and went to work at 12:30pm...
I came back 5 hours later and still had the dialog box " Finalising Registry" running on my screen! Well, a quick restart and i tried the upgrade option once back in Vista from the DVD. This then took and unbelievable 7 hours to complete and was finally ready - after updates - at 01:20am this morning, but a full clean install would have taken about 1-2 hours to finish, so i'll be doing that in future!.........
I have probably several thousand graphics (that I use for digital scrapbooking) that I've collected and carefully indexed using Windows Photo Gallery. I run Vista Home Premium. Anyway, it just lost most of my tags, AGAIN! This time is the worst because I've put many hours into it. Everything seems to be running smoothly for a long time and then all the sudden it all crashes. What happens to the tags.
I have all data including Photoshop's pictures on Drive "F", not "C", and when I try copying jpg's from Photoshop into Windows Photo Gallery I get nothing. Wrong procedure I guess. how to copy them to the Photo Gallery
How do you import photos into windows photo gallery that are on disk? It won't let you add them if they're already in the Pictures folder. And if import them from outside pictures folder it just includes that outside folder. The help is hideous for this app!
My question here is so darn elementary that it 'says something' about ME, the simple-minded user, OR about the software! I am a new user of Windows Live Photo Gallery. I am trying to learn it. It seems like a simple proposition to add captions to pictures. I do it regularly in MY preferred photo gallery, which is SmugMug. I also find it easy to caption pictures in the Kodak Gallery, in the Shutterfly Gallery, and in Picasa. BUT, in Windows Live Photo Gallery, it is a problem. Finding the place in the program for entering captions is easy as pie. Only problem is, the caption data so entered does NOT show up when the pics are displayed! Can someone tell me what, where, and how to make my captions appear?
Windows Photo Gallery. I was putting some photos in my gallery and suddenly ALL my photos have disappered my WHOLE collection has gone. Where has it gone-have I somehow deleted my whole collection??? What can I do???
The Info Pane does not change/update the File Properties i.e. Tags, Ratings under Details? Also how to open Details Pane (Cntl + I does not work either)?
I installed Kodak EasyShare's printer and photo software. Since then, when I plug my Canon 900IS camera in, AutoPlay no longer brings up the Import Pictures window, and I can no longer access Photo Gallery, which now is just a blank window that I can't close (I have to reboot to get rid of it). I uninstalled the Kodak software but that didn't help. Ideas? I'd like to have the Import Pictures feature back, as well as Photo
I just changed over from a CRT monitor to a LCD flatscreen monitor (Philips 190VW9FB/27), and I've found that while I can view image files okay in other applications such as Quicktime Viewer, Photoshop, or when viewing thumbnails in Windows Explorer, but when I double-click them to open them in Windows Photo Gallery, the picture shows up as completely washed out in magenta, with occasionally the darkest shadows barely visible. I've made sure that I'm using the latest drivers for the monitor and my video card.
