Deleted Items Folder Empty Automatically
Jul 3, 2008In OE6 my Deleted Items folder would empty automatically when I closed the programme. I cannot find that option anywhere in Windows Mail Tools - is there one?

still shows a number of unread items. If I close and re-open Windows Mail the figures disappear. I have looked through some recent posts and see mention of ghost messages in Deleted Items, but in my case this shows up in all mail folders. I also saw that it was asked a few times whether an anti-virus program is running, so if this is relevant I am running AVG Internet Security 7.5.

Apr 12, 2008Ill try this again. I cant send email I keep getting this message. Ive disabled my AVG email scanner, reset my account numerous times, still no luck. I dont have any problem deleting the message from the outbox.

May 27, 2008I have Windows Vista. Whenever I delete something, whether by just selecting it and pressing the delete key, selecting it and right-clicking and selecting Delete, or by dragging an item to the Recycle Bin, it asks me if I want to permanently delete the item. I usually say no because I don't want to. I want it to go to the Recycle Bin. But there are no options to send it there. I created a couple test files so that I could see what happens if I say Yes, and sure enough they do not go to the Recycle Bin, they are permanently deleted. I DO NOT have the setting to delete without sending something to the Recycle Bin checked. I have made sure of this numerous times.

Now, when I delete an email from my "Inbox," it does NOT appear in my "Deleted Items" folder. It just seems to disappear. I did read many of the earlier posts and have tried the suggestions. I've gone to Tools>Options>Advanced>Maintenance - the "Empty messages from the Deleted Items folder on exit" is NOT checked. I've also gone to Current View "Show all messages" - that's identified/checked. Is there something else that I can do? I'd appreciate any suggestions. This is the first time I've used
the Discussion Group, so I hope that I'm doing this correctly.

When I try to delete the mail it will not delete, when I try to move the mail to the junk mailbox it cannot be moved, when I try to send the mail it cannot send. I've tried shutting down Windows mail and restarting, I tried shutting down the computer, I've tried changing the "sender" e-mail addy, tried changing the "to" e-mail addy. This mail is now blocking other mails I am trying to send.
OUTbox Does Not Work
Mar 23, 2008I purchased a new Acer computer in January 2008 which had Vista Premium pre-installed; i activated the free 90-day trial from Norton. The Mail program worked fine until about one week ago when my outbox stopped working:
1) when i press ??Send/Reveive?? nothing happens, and even the graphics for that button do not seem to work (i.e. the button does not appear to indent). In order for me to be able to send email, I have to close the Mail program, at which point I get a message box asking if i want to send the unsent message(s), which it does when I click on OK.
2) I've also noticed that the bold characters (that normally indicate if there are unread messages in the Inbox, or unsent messages in the OUTbox) do not work anymore, i.e. they stay bold eventhough there are no new messages in the Inbox, or are not in bold when there are unsent messages in the OUTbox..............

Aug 2, 2009Ive read many discussion on this...and found out about the download which I did and it says "Update does not apply to your system" Someone else had this same exact problem named Marie...But, I couldnt find where it said how to fix the problem...I use the 32 download, can I try the other one ? My computer is 32 byts I found that on the computer..Then also tried to change that 25 to the 587 ( as I read of here also ) and now the message says " one or more messages in your outbox do not have a valid acct.specified would you like to use your default acct to send messages...I have deleted this acct. and started over many times and still end up with the same results..
