Can Delete Multi-part Message In MIME Format?
Sep 9, 2009I have three messages in my inbox that I can not delete. A box saying unknown error pops up when I try. I can delete the rest of them without any problem.

Mar 23, 2008I'm having trouble getting my Vista Ultimate desktop to see the XP machines and vice versa. The XPs see each other fine. I'll copy and paste all = the info I'm sure you'll need below=20 but let me say right now that the browstat wouldn't run on the Vista PC. When I opened to text file it was empty. Also, you'll notice in the ipconfig that it says NetBios over TCPIP is disable but it's not. I = have no=20 idea why it says disabled (see pic)Thisis gonna be lengthy so please forgive me. No firewalls are installed = and the one in Windows has been disabled.................

Apr 8, 2009I don't know if I got a virus or not. I don't think so, I ran a virus scan completely twice. but check it anyway.I was trying to get a photo program to do something, don't even remember what now, and it went crazy. It added a .lnk to every program. I mean every one. It wouldn't even show the desktop on a reboot until I removed it. It sent everything to the internet browser where of course it wouldn't run. I can't get rid of it. I can remove a program and reload it, make a shortcut and the thing adds a .lnk to the shortcut I delete the .lnk and it wants an association. I can assign it one but it requires it every time. There seems to be no way to check a "use this association every time." It's grayed out. It scattered all the desktop icons all over the desktop and changed the icon pictures all to blank. I have a program called Iconord that will restore the arrangement of the icons and it even failed.I have tried system recalls to no avail. Just getting email to work again took a long time and I still have to assign it an association

Jan 22, 2009I just installed a new MB (Biostar MCP6P M2+) and CPU AMD 64 x2 Brisbane 4200+ 2.2ghz. overclocked to 2.8ghz. and installed Vista x64 Premium OS. I was trying to import some pictures into Picasa from an SD card via a multi card reader on my Canon MP130 printer and the program froze. I shut it down. When I tried to use my multi card reader attached to the MB it wanted to format my disk??? is this because I am using a x64 system? After a few more attempts my entire system froze. I hard rebooted and when the POST comes up it only shows the CPU info and stops?

I basically only need vista nowadays and want to get rid of XP pro to gain more HD space.So, Vista is on partition C and XP is on partition D on the same hard drive. I can not delete or partition the XP part. I get an error message saying ."The attempted operation cannot be completed. This operation is not valid on volumes containing system partition, boot partition ore pagefiles".The XP partitions says "System, Primary Partition".I set the Vista partition to be 'active'.

May 13, 2008I know this is the Vista forum for Outlook Express but I can't seem to navigate to the one for XP. Anyhow I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. When sending a message in Outlook Express 6.0 in Windows XP, the message will say there were errors but in the details section it is blank. There will also be a copy of the message that stays in the outbox BUT the message is being received by the recipient. Also, I can't delete the message from the Outbox and the message keeps getting sent every time OE is openned.

Windows Mail Encoding/mime Problems In Sent E-mails
Mar 23, 2008I migrated my email from Outlook Express to Windows Mail.for the mosst part, I like the new features and support in the new Mail
program.
But I have come across one problem that I can't figure out.searching the posts on this forum, no one else seems to be having the same problem.
When I send a new e-mail OR reply to an e-mail from a contact, the email content is shifted to the bottom of the email and a ton (about 30-50 lines) of MIME encoding information is imbedded in the top portion of the email.
I have tried changing encoding to reply in senders format or default to Windows instead of ISO format all with no resolution.
People complain about the emails they get from me from my Windows Mail account but if I send from Outlook Express, from hotmail web interface, or my Blackberry all is good and encoding info is not included.
Seems to be some Windows Mail setup issue running on Vista Ultimate x64 with
latest updates applied as of now.

Whilst that works well there is on occasion a message which actually isn't SPAM after all. I can copy the email to the desktop and edit it with notepad to remove the word SPAM from the subject line and then save and drag it back into Windows mail but the situation I have is that I have a (mail) folder which has a large number of needed emails incorrectly marked. Does anyone know of a utility that can be used to rename the subject line (specifically to remove the word SPAM) from all messages in a given folder?

Mar 2, 2009I downloaded iTunes, version 8 I believe, and I see the progress line go all the way across in the Downloads window and the installer appears on my Desktop as TunesSetup.exe.part. It won't open and when I look at Properties, under General Tab it shows as having 0 bytes and in the Details tab, it shows as having 1.55 mb.

Jun 24, 2008I just noticed a file in C: named SYM_REGISTRY_BACKUP.reg, dated 4/22008. It is quite large (223MB) so I wanted to delete it to free up some space. Searching the Internet, I can't tell if it is part of a virus or it I can safely delete it without breaking some legit working program (assuming it is not virus related). I scanned it with Norton and it says it is ok.

Router Not Shown As Part Of Network
Jun 21, 2008I have had a new vista desktop for about 6 weeks. It is hooked directly into a Linksys router which in turn hooked to my DSL modem. I also have a laptop on the network connected wirelessly. For the first few weeks, whenever I clicl on network I see three icons--one for the desktop, one for the laptop and one for the router. Acouple of weeks ago I noticed that now there is only an icon for the desktop and for the laptop. I have rebooted several times and then run the network utility but the router ceases to show up. The router works as both pc's have internet access and both pc's share files ok.

I still have my old laptop and it still posts to the newsgroups via outlook express 6. I'm using it right now. Incidentally, Bellsouth/ATT is going to drop newsgroups next month.I have the same settings for the account in both laptops. This one is running XP pro. When I set up the acct on the Vista one, the headers came in asusual. Everything works as usual, except when I click on send, it doesn't send. I get an error message instead. I get this one: "windows mail could not post your message. etc...snip.. 441posting failed rejected by post filter port 119,secure (ssl): no, server error :401 error number: 0x800CCCA9" Is there a hidden trick to setting it up so it sends? I searched the net and one guy had the same problem and resolved it by changing the mimo to uuncode, or something like that, I forget exactly what they were, but I found them buried in a menur on my system somewhere, and made the change but it didn't fix mine.

Mar 4, 2009Does anyone know a freeware program that can convert multiple dvr-ms files automatically to wmv or avi? My Playstation 3 can play media from my Vista desktop computer. Unfortunately, it can not play the dvr-ms file type Media center creates.
I record multiple TV shows on a day. Vista windows movie maker can convert them from dvr-ms to wmv, but can convert 1 file per project. Converting takes very long, so if I have to convert them manually 1 by 1, it takes too much time.
What I would like is to have a program that can convert multiple dvr-ms files simultaneously or through a automatic waiting list. Just like Windows media player can do with MP3. You place a CD in your computer, choose which songs you want to convert to MP3, and media player converts them automatically 1 by 1. You don???t have to do anything else.
Multi Page .tif Documents
Mar 16, 2009I got my computer twith Vista on it this summer and could no longer view multi page .tif files. I need to be able to do this for my job. My old computer had XP and it used MS fax and picture viewer, or something like that. I used this forum in September to figure out my problem, and someone instructed me on a download at Microsoft that would fix this problem. I think it is Microsoft Document Image Writer, but I could be wrong.
This fixed my problem. Now, for some reason, my computer has defaulted to QuickTime and it will only allow me to view one page. I can't remember what program I used before (whether it was the Image Writer or not), and even so, I don't know how to get it to default to another program. I have tried to search previous posts to get the answer to my post from September 2008, but I can't figure out how to do that either.
How To Remove Multi-booting
Mar 23, 2008I multi-booted my hard drive so I could try out some Linux releases. I'm done with that now and would like to restore my hard drive to single booting of Vista only. Is there something in my Vista Upgrade DVD or the Vista Recovery Console or somewhere else that will set the MBR back so it points directly to Vista?

Apr 15, 2008When UAC kicks in for some reason, you can optionally choose to view more details where that dialog displays what looks like a long hexadecimal string - I haven't confirmed whether it is valid hexadecimal. The point is, its probably some kind of ID for that particular instance of UAC kicking in. Why isn't that string selectable so that it can be copied to the clipboard? Is that string stored as part of a log that UAC maintains?
