Can't Send Emails: The Connection To The Server Was Interrupted
Oct 22, 2009
After years of slogging along with an age old laptop (Windows XP and MS Office xp Professional) I bought two new computers running Vista Home Premium and one (Asus netbook) running XP. Result: netbook can use the same Outlook settings as previously, but the other two, using the same XP settings will let me send Emails (to myself and elsewhere) but the Vista machines absolutely refuse to send mails to anywhere. Any one had similar experiences? The error message was: Task 'mail.navigate.de - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0F): 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'
I'm experiencing a similar issue to a number of people on this forum where I am unable to send emails on my Vista Home Windows Mail. I have followed the advice shown to others and so far have: Downloaded the patch 941090 from Microsoft (32 Bit) Turned off email Scanners on Norton Antivirus Changed the Outgoing Mail Port to 80,
But I still get the message: The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Re: Test', Account: 'pop3.blueyonder.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.blueyonder.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 80, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I've been having trouble connecting to only one website the past few weeks on IE and firefox. This is the message I get on Firefox ...."Connection Interrupted. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." Its the same on IE. My friends are having no problem with the site and I had no issues until a few weeks ago. Nothing changed with my computer. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
I can receive messages, but none would sent. It was working fine for months, but after I moved to a new location I can send with the Windows Mail. I have 5 ssages in the Outbox and every tiem I send this erros msg. shows up: Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection.
How do I correct this POP3 server problem when i add my comcast account i got the information from comcast Incoming mail.comcast.net. Outgoing smtp.comcast.net I keep getting error messages that the smtp is not correct.
When I try to send an email the below message comes up (please do not suggest checking the authentication setting as I have tried almost anything to get it to work). The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

I just set up my Windows Vista Mail so it retrieves the emails from our website. Previously I was using the webmail. I did it all with the help of Fasthosts Support over the phone and it downloaded 14 messages fine.
But since then when I Send/ Receive All it gives this message:
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Fasthost windows mail info', Account: 'mail.concrete-publishing.com', Server:
Fasthosts say it may have to do with McAfee firewall? I'm reluctant to shut it down because it opens me to bad stuff should I continue using the Fasthosts Webmail and forget about Windows?
I have been trying to set up Windows Mail. I get an error message:
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Test', Account:
'POP3.live.com', Server: 'SMPT.live.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E. I have disable my email virus scanning. I have checked with Qwest about the correct ports, 25 for outgoing and 995 for incoming. SSL is checked. My server requires authentication is checked. Incoming mail is POP3.live.com. Outgoing is smpt.live.com. I have Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 with a 64 bit operating system.

A previously functioning Windows mail account now won't send mail. I've tried fixes suggested in the help screens by opening properties, changing authentication, etc. Nothing has worked. Here's the error message. Means absolutely nothing to me. The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test', Account: 'pop.comcast.net', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E Could it be related to Comcast's changeover?
I have two email accounts that I check using Windows Mail. I've had these set for almost 2 years now. Tonight I tried to check, but got the error message below. I've rechecked the account properties, and everything seems to be set correctly. I can't send or receive mail.

When I want to send mail it goes directly to the out box and messag reads,

every time i send emails thru microsoft i get that smtp is not a valid server, i use yahoo.com, and my account i have is yahoo.com. Yahoo states that smtp is a connection which confuses me, what server do i need?
I am also receiving the following error message when I try to send an email.

I have been on the phone with my service provider and they have checked everything on their end and said that it is a problem with Microsoft. I have also, after reviewing other posts, changed my port from 25 to 80 & 587 and neither have fixed the problem. I have also uninstalled my antivirus program. Still nothing.
This is the message i get when i try to send emails.
