I just set up my Windows Vista Mail so it retrieves the emails from our website. Previously I was using the webmail. I did it all with the help of Fasthosts Support over the phone and it downloaded 14 messages fine.

After years of slogging along with an age old laptop (Windows XP and MS Office xp Professional) I bought two new computers running Vista Home Premium and one (Asus netbook) running XP. Result: netbook can use the same Outlook settings as previously, but the other two, using the same XP settings will let me send Emails (to myself and elsewhere) but the Vista machines absolutely refuse to send mails to anywhere.
