Blue Screen, System Failure

Jul 19, 2009

I keep getting a quick blue screen. (not blue screen of death). It restarts so it has something to do with system failure. I've tried switching hard driver but the same problem happens. It just randomly turns blue when im browsing or playing games. it doesnt happen if i let the laptop just sit there.

Everything was fine for about 2 minutes after the desk top loaded. Anoter blue screen and when it went to boot i got a boot failure please insert disk and press enter. I created a boot disk because i do not have the software for my pc because it got lost in a move. Anyway the boot up disk booted to pc doctor. System Boots Then Blue Screen

Sep 26, 2009

all day I've been trying to sort this out but to no avail. I've searched Google like crazy, and whilst I've found that others have had this issue there's been no real resolution. My system boots all the way up to the point of the loading bar, then it goes blue screen and restarts. I've found that it loads up in safe mode, and I can access all my drives (I've tried unplugging external devices), and I'm 99% certain that running a system restore would fix the issue. HOWEVER, safe mode revokes me of all rights to perform any system based tasks, so obviously it won't allow me to run system restore, regedit, pretty much anything. Here's what I've tried so far:

-Running system repair through a boot disk, it didn't find anything wrong

-I tried running system restore through the boot disk but apparently there weren't any restore files (which isn't true)

Blue Screen: System Helted

Apr 6, 2008

I am building this mach from scratch, so I picked Vista hardware.Such as:Abit IP35v mobo, Intel P4-D 930, OCZ Pc 6400 DDR2 2x2gig(4gig) and MSI NS8500GT TD256E-OC PCIe 16x video.Pioneer DvD DL writer SATA.Others: Rosewill RAID PCIe 1x controller w/2ea Seagate 250G SATA2 HD, 2ea TV tuners 550 Theater Pro, Fatal1ty X-Fi sound..The only hardware items migrating to the New box, from my old box, is the TV tuners & X-Fi sound brd... all PCI devices..I am trying to install Vista from scratch, I purchased an OEM copy of Home Premium. After wrestling with trying to find a Partitioning prog that would Boot from a SATA DvD ROM, I plugged my PATA model in and was able to partition the RAID volume... But got a Blue screen saying something about "my system was halted to save it from damage, etc" stopped at 0x0000012(0x00000000,0x8BC50028,0x000000,0x00000000)...

When I Booted from Vista CD, and started the install... That was with all hardware in place..I have removed everything, now I have Mobo, mem, CPU/ sink, video, PATA DvD
& 1ea SATA HD, partitioned w/ Pri NTFS Bootable, on port 1..I still get Blue screen, but the numbers are alittle differant..Only the numbers changed to 0x8BD9DD18..The install goes as far as Displaying "Microsoft Corp" with a green strobe L>R... and then Blue screens about 1-2mins into the install... or should I say after the strobe appears..Any ideas? I have tried a differant video card, but it Blue screens almost emediatly when the green strobes starts up... with different numbers again.0x8BD50028.

System Restore + Blue Screen = Virus?

Jan 20, 2009

I've got Win Vista Home Premium SP1. Up until recently, when i chose System Restore it came up with a calander-like window and then i was able to choose the day i wanted my sistem restored to. Then a few days ago I experienced a crash, and it took my pc a while to check my disk (the only one, since it's a laptop).

That's the checking:

Then i manged to enter Vista again, and i thought i'd just restore again, hoping nothing was wrong. And when i clicked System Restore it took absolutely AGES to open (the rest of the stuff worked/s well...) and when it eventually opened i got that:

And now, if i choose "Choose a different restore point", i get this:

Where has the calender gone? Where are my previous restore points??? What's wrong?

Then, yesterday i was checking bbc's webpage and i came across this article: Click

Blue Green Screen Wouldn't Working System

Sep 15, 2009

my problem being stuck at the blue/green screen while making a new fresh install.) Well I first signed up because I have was having install problems. When it got to the blue/green screen it wouldnt do anything. But what do u know.. right when I was typing this it starts to load and Im now on my way installing windows vista 64 bit! (cause I just recently bought 8gb of memory) Well... I guess I would explain my story since Im a newbie... and something for you guys to read.. Well my computer really needed a new HDD because for some reason my old one would always get curupted after like so many months... about 2-3 months? I was wow **** this. I wasnt sure why it was doing this. But my computer was only on a surge so I think maybe a couple power outages ****ed it up. (I already fixed that problem though, just bought a battery from newegg.com, when I bought more things, like my new hdd, memory, mouse and mouse pad.)

so finally my memory and windows vista x64 bit dvd came into the mail. As soon as I got em... I installed the memory then I wanted to upgrade my version of windows xp 32bit (I must say a really good OS at the moment, till when windows 7 comes out) So I tried just throwing in the cd and found out I couldnt upgrade that way. Because I got an error that said "somethin, cant remember the full message but bascially because I couldnt run 64bit dvd when I have 32bit" so no biggie right? Then I was like ok well I can just install it by booting up. I got passed the part that said "Now loading windows vista files" alright not bad... so far so good. But damn I was wrong when I got to the blue/green background. I noticed the dvd wasn't spinning my computer was just sitting there. It was frozen though since I could still move the mouse. So I was like oh man... cmon vista... Well I waited a little bit not to much though cause I think it should just pop up and start working. It wasnt doing that so I knew something was wrong......

Analyze Blue Screen: No Consistency Of Circumstances, A Blue Screen Will Appear!

Jun 30, 2008

Business with SP1
Sony laptop, fast core2duo, 4GB
Defender+Avast!
Working beautifully for many months, and then a few
weeks ago this began happening:

Perhaps 2-3 times a week, and with no consistency of circumstances, a blue screen will appear. It might happen while working or when returning from hibernate. There's a countdown as memory is stored, and then a freeze. The only way to recover is to do a hard OFF (5 seconds on the power switch) and restart. When it first happened, I had not installed or changed anything, so I was comfortable doing a restore. It happened again.

It's confusing because the stated cause is inconsistent. I've checked to ensure that all drivers are updated and nothing that's contraVistarian is installed. What analytical steps can I undertake to discover what's causing this, and then to help me make the necessary changes?

Different Blue Screens:Look Like Blue Screen Appears When To Much Action Is Going On Like Opening Of IE And Outlook

Feb 13, 2009

Problem Blue Screen. No new hardware or software installed recently, last Windows vista update was on 01/15. When I start first, PC passes user registration (boots fine) and
does the normal stuff like loading software and starting the wireless internet connection via Netgear, opening some windows/programms I will close. All normal, but than comes a Blue Screen and very fast shut down of system with restart. Hardly can read the message...Look like Blue Screen appears when to much action is going on like opening of IE and Outlook... or open to many windows... or some bad programm/hardware is booting. But when I restart, restart gives a different blue screens and trouble is much earlier or directly after registering to the system.

But all starting or booting turn slower, real slow now. Start in --safe mode with net working-- the PC works, but the PC can't handle heavy workloads, is really slow in action. I cannot open --My pictures-- to see all picture files displyed on screen (2.7 GB) (the process trying to access the files in safe mode is real slow) and when I attempt to transfer the file to a USB stick, the computer is stopping in middle of action (after 50% transfer)..........

Screen Freeze Or Blue Screen Needing Reboot

Feb 1, 2009

I've had voltage issues causing my computer to freeze or reboot during games and dvds. Fixed that and the computer was fine after memtest showing no problems. That was late Dec.

A few days ago, the computer would go to a blue screen saying it's dumping physical memory and then automatically reboots. Thinking my harddisk might be collapsing on me (I have a seagate barracuda 7200.11 500Gb HD with the SD15 firmware, the infamous crash friendly HD), I flash the HD with the SD1A firmware from seagate, then it was fine. 2days later, Catalyst started to cause problems by not responding, so I formated the drive and reinstalled vista ultimate, along with Catalyst, drivers from Mobo manufacturer ASUS, plus a couple of other softwares. That was yesterday, and now I'm getting the same blue screen back, or the computer just freezes.

Boot Failure: Black Screen

Apr 27, 2010

Vista will not boot normally. I get to the black screen just before the Welcome, and then... nothing. Just a black screen. I CAN start in safe mode with networking, however. I disabled EVERYTHING in the msconfig startup, as well as all non-Microsoft service, to no avail. When I run ComboFix, I get the msg 'ComboFix is preparing to run', followed by 'Acess Denied. Administrator permissions are need to use the selected options. Use an administrator command prompt to complete these tasks'. I did right click on the CF icon on my desktop, and selected 'run as administrator' but got the same result. If I just let it run as is, I get the usual 'Scanning for infected files... This typically doesn't take more than 10 minutes, etc...', but NOTHING ever happens for at least 15 minutes after which ComboFix finally does start. However, while its running through the 50 stages, embedded in those stages is the occasional ''Access Denied. Administrator permissions are needed....". The completion of CF and subsequent restart did absolutely nothing to change the boot problem. I do have a MS Vista install disk, and I've run Startup repair. No change.....................

X64 Random Blue Screen At Log In Screen, But Before Log In

Feb 5, 2010

I've had pretty good luck with vista so far but every so often it will blue screen on me and I cant figure out why. The scenario is

1. System startup from power off condition
2. System boots to login screen
3. Blue screen referencing processor timing or something

I have not overclocked or anything everything is vanilla. I would also note that I run hardware diagnostics utilities and it seems fine. Also, I never get the message about abnormal system termination like ususal. How can I get a clue as to what is going on here. So far it seems like the error is bogus, I can log in and the machine will run for days with no problem.

Boot Disk / System Recovery Failure

Mar 19, 2009

I run vista 32 bit. I'm pretty sure it's Vista personal (PC didn't actually come with a Vista disk). I only use it for music and games, basic stuff. It's a Compaq....It shat itself recently, it wouldn't boot, so i borrowed the Vista Business disk from my dad to repair it/disk boot, and it worked fine, that was a couple days ago. Today it happened again, except it won't repair the same way. I start it up, it goes to the Compaq startup screen with 4 options; [Esc] Boot menu, [F9] Diagnostics, [F10] Setup, [F11] System recovery. Except I can never go to the diagnostics or system recovery menus, i press the keys and nothing happens. Then when i don't press anything it goes to a black screen with "Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter", so i do. Then it says "Windows is loading files" with a white bar below, once that's done it goes to the Microsoft Coporation green load bar that scrolls across over and over. Then it suddenly stops for a few minutes and a blue screen appears saying

"A problem has been detected and Windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps: Check to see if any new hardware or software is properly installed.
