Wrong Overclocking?

I tried to overclock my memory ram from 800MHz to 1066MHz,big mistake ,my pc start to restart 5-6 times with many biiiiibs end after some more strange sounds and restarts fortunetly my bios autorecovered.Now when i start my pc with the rest messages...memory dualdual bios mbla mbla i see this to>-->CPUID: O6FB Patch ID 00B6.
My pc specs...
tower silent giant,inout extra large fun x2+in/out large fun x2+duall mini fun under every hard disk.
Power supply Seasonic 700W 80plus with removable pins.
mobo gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 with duall bios rev1.1.

I am not afraid to fry my rig but I am better at following orders from someone that has done this before than me testing and trying various changes on my bios. Do any of you, knowing my specs, want to take a gander at helping me OC my rig? I am not looking for extremes, just something to help me play games better (ie: smoother visual and better fps's). I understand if you are reluctant but, we so love to test and what better way to do so if it won't break your rig, right?

I was thinking over overclocking my cpu a bit, and im not sure which program to use, its an amd phenom 8650 x3 2.3mhz.
I was going to use amd overdrive but it doesnt work with my processor.

in an article on this forum about ocing an intel 8400 on a asusp5n-t deluxe stew2 advised "go to your tweaking tab and set the cpu,ram and AI over clocking values to manual".....I can find AI overclocking but where are cpu and ram values?

Some people are unsure on how to overclock the GPU. Quite frankly, the GPU is the easiest thing to overclock in a system. Lets start from the beginning. This will void your warranty if you have an ATI video card. The first thing I recommend is to grab some useful programs and the latest NVIDIA WHQL drivers. The programs I recommend are EVGA Precision 1.7.0 or Rivatuner (for the overclocking/monitoring), GPU-Z 0.3.3 (monitoring/GPU info), and ATItool (artifact testing). ForceWare 182.50 WHQL DriverWinXP 32 bit WinXP 64 bit WinVista 32 bit WinVista 64 bit Proper uninstallation/installation of video drivers (Vista, in XP it should be somewhat similar):Download and install Driver Sweeper or something similar. Right click on computer, click Device Manager (on left) Select your display device (video card), uninstall video device software. Delete driver folder (C:NVIDIAWinVista641xx.xx) Reboot in safe mode (repeatedly hit F8 during boot sequence). Run Driver Sweeper or your equivalent. Only clean Display driver. Reboot. Download and install your desired driver. Reboot. When installing new drivers, make sure all anti-virus software is disabled. EVGA Precision 1.7.0 Download , GPU-Z 0.3.3 Download, ATItool.26 Download , Driver Sweeper 1.5.5 Download

I just got done messing around with overclocking a little, and I'm afraid I might have be heading into trouble. How hot is too hot for a cpu to be running? Right now I'm at about an average of 53C idle And the hottest I've gotten is 57C. I just did a quick 10-min stability test from my nvidia software, and the max/min temps are 66/53C, reported on the motherboard. CPUID actually measured core#0 at 43/63C and core#1 at 43/60C.

I am having a problem with my PC. It is a home built with a Gigabyte EP45T Extreme motherboard with a Intel 9550 CPU, 4 GB DDR3 Corsair ram, Gigabyte Nivida GT280 video card and 2 700GB Sata 2 drives set up in a RAID0 array. I have tried overclocking and cannot get it stable. Runs fine for a time and then suddenly starts not to POST. I have gone back to completely standard to see if I can find the problem and even with that there are issues. The drive has two Primary partitions and one extended that is devided up into other partitions. The first primary holds Vista x64 and the second is going to hold Windows Server 2008 as a demo trial..........

overclocking my Intel Core i7 950 3.07 GHz I know there is a lot of guides and stuff about OC but Check my specs for more info on my system. I really want to make this overclocking the right way. I OC'd my last Core duo 3.16GHz a bit but it never felt safe. So any tips or anything to get me started would be great

I have been overclocking my graphics card with RivaTuner, I decided to try nTune, I then realized I needed to adjust my GPU fan speed, but when I open nTune under the "Performance" tab there isn't any category which let's me adjust my mobo settings... I'm not sure if it is my specific video card (8400GS) or mother board (Dell RY206). But it is running VERY hot, last time I checked close to 140°F.

I just recently overclocked my cpu (Amd athlon64 3800+)stock 2.4 GHz, to 2.83GHz. I have gotten my processor up to this lvl before without facing these issues, my firefox will crash every now and then and azureus does crash every few minutes... This never used to be a problem but i may have done something wrong in overclocking this time. I have ddr400 (200mhz).*2x1gb sticks* The fsb clock is at 257mhz and multiplier is 11. I maximized the voltage for my cpu so that it can run. My dram was configured so that its at 180mhz(with overclocked cpu it is boosted back to around 200-205mhz, checked with cpu-z.) Any idea what im doing wrong or i have missed? do i need to change the voltage for my ram? I tried to change that *other multiplier thing, supposidly stock is x5, i put down to x4, no difference....

As the title says, ive managed to overclock to 3.8ghz really stable in XP. But vista wont take anything. my rig is below the stock fsb is 1333 i put it to 1350 and it still froze. What am i doing wrong, i see people online have overclocked in vista just the same. btw it freezes every time about 30 secs after i see my desktop. Usally just after Nod32 smart securty loads. do you think this could be the problem?

I have a Asus engtx 275 and was overclocking it my final clocks are 723/1404/1257 All the Quote: As far as the GeForce GTX 275 goes .. it's a pretty darn nice overclocker. We bumped the core to 743MHz vs. 632MHz standard, the shader clock is now 1605MHz vs. 1404MHz standard and the memory is running at 1282MHz (2564 effective) vs. 1134MHz standard. The above is from GeForce GTX 275 Overclock guide Yet the whole system locks out if i have the shader clock even at 1450.

I have an inspiron 1545 with a hd 4330 with 256 mb gddr3 VRAM. I tried to extract the bios but GPU-Z said bios reading not supported i heard somewhere that pc manufacturers cuts of the read/write pins of the GPU Some gu ys told me that in some laptops the Video BIOS is a part of the main bios. If it is true what if I extract the video bios from my main bios setup file & after changing the clock speed reflash the main bios. By the way my bios version is A14

I have and found this forum while I was trying to figure out how to switch from vista to xp. I have found a few thread on the subject, pretty much implying that there was no possible way (my computer has been bought last year in another country so my supplier cannot be reached easily).
Many of the answers were asking: why switch from vista to xp?
Well, personally, I am not a great geek, but I am amazed how much complications with softwares seem to result from vista. And the greatest of all, for me, is the incapacity to edit my movies (which was the main purpose of my purchase). According to what I experienced and read on other forums, Vista does not recongnize most of the camcorders (with Premiere or Movie maker) and I have been unable to install avid either... anyone has a solution for me? cheers!

I have Vista on my laptop. I need to connect to a wireless network which has WEP encryption with a 6 character pass phrase. Every time I attempt to connect Vista tells me that the pass phrase must be 5 or 13 characters long. The other users all have XP machines and are connected and working. There is no way to get the pass phrase changed.

my product key is on the certificate of authencity at the back of my laptop but when i try to enter it in microsoft powerpoint, word etc, it always says that it's wrong. i really need microsoft office before it gets blocked and when i go to help it says that it should check for a sticker at the back but it says it is wrong!

I'm curious on what temps I should be cautious of reaching? I have a Intel Centrino 2 Duo P7350 2.0GHz. I've overclocked it to 2.4GHz and ran Orthos and about 3-4 minutes I checked HWMonitor. I was reaching temps around 75 Celsius (167 degrees Fahrenheit) on the CPU. So my question is, is that a safe temp to operate at and what is the "danger level" I should be concerned about?

After using perfmon to determine what applications were hogging my internet connection at 2am every morning I found that AeLookupSvc and Appinfo were the culprits. After looking up what they did and deciding that it would be ok to disable them (!!) I did so, and now any activity that requires administrative privileges either does not respond, or returns the error "C:Windowssystem32services.msc The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. Perfmon, services.msc, windows firewall, system restore, accessing my registry, none of it works. I can still run programs and serf the net, but anything that needs admin priv will not work. I guess what I need is some kind of workaround, I need to enable Appinfo without administrator privileges so I can get my administrator privileges back. Thanks for any help you can provide, Tim **SKIP the FOLLOWING if you just want to help for said issue** Now time for the RANT: Jesus I have never been so frustrated! I have never had a prolonged experience with something so clunky, so ridiculous, and coming highly touted from one of the largest corporations on the planet! This is only one (and the worst) of the many problems I've had. While playing warcraft I'll suffer from framerate issues with a powerful dual core until the cpu's decide "hey, he's got 6 fps, lets stop whatever we were doing and help him out" and my framerates will jump to 60. I spent an hour in the registry working on my latency issues, I spent 30 minutes in the registry fixing a fallout 3 console problem, svchost will decide to go surf the net in the middle of me doing something myself and lag the crap out of me. My computer has a mind of its own and rarely is it doing something I want to do too! If windows vista wiped my a$$ it would be a 47 step process and have to stop and ask my permission to ask my permission. I went to microsoft support for help, entered in my product i.d. in order to determine if I could get support help WITHOUT having to PAY $49, and it told me the number was for vista home premium 64 bit instead of the 32 bit I selected, well, ok, I went back and changed the option to 64 bit, re-entered the SAME exact i.d., it gave me a product i.d. format error......the same, copy/pasted i.d..... I went and did it two more times both ways including opening a new browser window laughing my ass off!!! Way to go microsoft! Your $230 billion dollar organization wants $49 from me to help me with your problems! I'm so glad I was so frustrated I laughed, otherwise my laptop would have traveled through the wall. ( I know, anger issues, but can you blame me?!?!) There's some more I could write if you're still reading, but my finger's are getting cold, I haven't typed this much since my senior design project.

So I just bought my 2nd Evga 8800gt card Superclocked Edition. I tried running SLI with it and when I enable SLI, I'm only getting 10 fps on 3dmark06. When I disable SLI, I'm getting a much higher fps running just 1 card. Is it some bug with Vista x64? Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? I've tried everything from reinstalling the drivers to reinstalling the cards themselves. Both cards show up in my device manager and both are bridged. I can't figure out why this is happening.

I have 3 e mail address's and one of them is my default address, which is subscribed to a mailing list for my football team. I get quite a few e mails on this list and often send to it. For some strange reason tonight, when I try to reply to an e mail that has been sent to the list, it tries to reply from one of my other e mail address's rather than my default one. Yet when I do a new e mail its ok, and creates one from my default e mail address!

i bought this network attached storage drive from Maplin Dual SATA Network Enclosure : Network Enclosures : Maplin I tryed updating the firmware and got some message in German about how if i updated the firmware the network connection would be lost. i clicked ok and now after rebooting my drive cannot access it. i have reset it and cannot try to update the firmware again as there is not USB Port on the drive to access it directly from the computer.

I was currently fixing my folder i cons because they were yellow instead of green, i replaced the desktop.ini for all the folders. then i went to command prompt and typed this in attrib +r AdminDesktop and now he User is desktop: when i click it and i go to the top it says "C:UsersAdmin" : I tried viewing hidden folders but nothing.

When I receive a mail I sort it into personal folders (me, my wife, my son) Going into one of that folders I can see, ie 10 mails. All mails have different sender and contents. However, every mail I open, will always displays the same contents. i mean: I open mail nr 1 and I have the sender and the contents of mail 3. I open mail 7 and I I have the sender and the contents of mail 3.But in the list all different senders are shown. I am using Windows Mail (6) with Vista Ultimate.
