I've repeatedly checked instructions as given through many sites to make sure all the right ports are typed in for Gmail, all the right boxes checked. I even unchecked the box someone suggested in the Norton security outgoing mail filter, and I still get this message:

View 5 Replies View RelatedCannot get Windows mail to connect to my Yahoo POP3 server. Contacted Yahoo and we installed telnet and successfully connected to the servers through there. Old computer had Outlook express connected to the same account and I had no problems. Have checked the setting numerous times to insure they are correct. Have tried different port 's and different configurations - get different error messages but still no luck. Have checked all the firewalls (only have one on) and it has been configured to let Windows Mail have full access.

I discovered that I CAN access my Yahoo email using OE. My new laptop has windows mail that will not work. I'd love to make the current MS Mail work but I suspect it will just be easier to install OE if possible? unless you know some way to get past my "Mediacom" port blocks?
