The person who sold me Vista Ultimate said that it came with everything I needed for business (word, excel, etc), yet I don't find any of these programs. Should they be there, or should I buy the software separately?
View 8 RepliesEverytime when I try to open Microsoft Office 2007 I'm getting message: this file could not be found, (C:Windowssystem32Files.doc. After this I press OK button and I'm getting second one: The directory name is not valid. (C:Windowssystem32(x86) Microsoft.doc) I press Ok and program open and works fine. I know that I can use it but this things really bother me because I know that something is wrong and maybe later it will be bigger problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just built a new computer and am trying to load and DVD OEM Vista ultimate x64 OS. I have 4 SATA hard disks and 1 SATA Sony bdu-x10s blu-ray drive. I have configured the 4 HDDs in Bios for RAID0. I also set BIOS to boot from the Sony drive only.
When I put the Vista disk in and power on the computer I notice that it loads the HDDs very quickly and sits on the Sony for a long time ~30 seconds. then it checks the disk and says no bootable media found. I observed that if I remove the disk and power on the computer the Sony drive loads just as quickly as the HDDs
I've heard conflicting reports as to whether Office 2000 will run successfully under Vista. In the hope that they are compatible, I installed Office 2000 and then installed (from the Microsoft site) updates SR-1a and SP-2. Then I downloaded SP3, but when I attempted to install it, I got the message "The expected version of the product was not found on your system." Is there some reason for this, or should I just try again? I looked for, but could not find, a newsgroup that deals with Office 2000 -- is there an alternative newsgroup that would be better for these questions?

Today I installed a full version of Microsoft Office 2007, without removing any of the other two versions from my computer. I realized that it seemed to automatically remove the older version. I`m not bother about it not being there, as I got the new version, but I wonder if this is an automatic uninstalling that Office does, or if the version is still there but I can`t see it, as I would like to remove it properly if it`s still somewhere in my computer.
I checked in Control Panel & the only thing I can see is "Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007", the full version I just installed, & everything that come with it. No 2003 anywhere.
I know you can do this document-by-document by opening each document individually and clicking "Upgrade" or whatever, but is there a way to convert all your Office documents at once?

View 9 Replies View RelatedPurchased an HP notebook with premium and set it up but did not activate yet. Then purchased an Ultimate Upgrade with anytime upgrade. Installed the upgrade using the key from the bottom of the PC when it asked for the current product key. No errors. Finishes the upgrade and restarts and still is running Home Premium. Why did ultimate not take? We need ultimate to login to a domain.

With the anytime upgrade to ultimate can I choose between the 32 and 64 bit vista ultimate? I do realize that I would have to do a clean install of the 64 bit OS. I'd rather not spend a couple hundred dollars to do this when I already own Vista Ultimate 32-bit. My computer came with Home Premium and I purchased a Vista Ultimate Upgrade CD (32 bit). Now what I want to know is if I buy the $30 non liscensed Vista Ultimate (64 bit) CD, can I use my Ultimate (32 bit) Activation key to activate it? This would save me around $150. I have a HP pavilion laptop which came with 64 bit vista ultimate pre-installed. I shrinked the OS partition (160 GB), created new partition (40 GB) for 64 bit windows 7 ultimate. After installation of Windows 7, I cannot see the vista ultimate boot option when I boot my PC. When I boot into Windows 7, I still can see the vista partition. But instead of C: it is now displayed as E: I used the HP Recovery Disc to repair windows vista but I can only see a blank blue screen with the mouse pointer. How can I recover the vista?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI use two tables: "Authors" and "Books" (Authors being a list of authors and then the books they have written; and Books, well, just being the list of books by all the authors) {see Books1}. Whenever I entered a new entry, it always went to the bottom of the author I selected(which I want because it is done in the order I read them in) {again see Books1}. However, now whenever I enter a new entry it goes to the top (which is annoying).
Just as a random example, say that the first 4 books are in order that I read them in (normally chronologically). Then, I add the 5th book and it goes to the top! So now it will be in the order: 5, 1, 2, 3, 4 {see Books2}. I do not know how or why this has begun to happen. What I want to do is have them in the order in which I entered them (by entered date or whatever). Sorry if it is a bit confusing! I'm no expert and I'm unsure of the "official" or "proper" termonology when it comes to Office Access!

I've installed a few games and both games are giving 2 errors saying that "This application has failed to start because WINMM.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem". This pops up twice, and then the game starts and seems to work without any issues.

After some searching around the web it was suggested that I update DirectX. However, it appears that I am running the most recent version, DirectX 10. I am reluctant to update something that appears to be up to date.
It is true that d3dx9_40.dll is missing, but some of the suggestions I found on the web indicate that I should not merely download this dll. I am not a big gamer, just wanted to look at this game, and am reluctant to spend hours and hours reconfiguring my system, but I would like to know why I am getting this error and why DirectX 10 doesn't include d3dx9_40.dll.I apologize if this is addressed elsewhere, I looked and didn't find anything that directly addresses this question.
