Trial Upgrade To W7

I have a Windows 7 Home Premium that I have used on one of my laptops, with excellent results. After taking a complete backup of my wife's Vista laptop, I'd like to use the same CD on her laptop, as a 30 day trial. If she likes it, I'd be willing to pay for another copy. If not, I'd restore her laptop to it's Vista.
I use StorageCraft, so my backup will restore everything, Vista, drivers, installed applications, absolutely everything. I'm not looking to cheat Microsoft, but don't want to buy a copy and then not like it. Will this work? We'll probably like it, and pay a fee to continue using the installed copy, if possible.

I purchased a digital update of Windows Vista Premium upgrade and the download won't load. I am useing a trial version of Windows XP 64-bit. I first used the digital locker a few times and it would stop at 99 percent and give a validation error. I figured it the locker was having a problem so i manual downloaded the three files through my internet browser. They downloaded fine without problems, but when I tried to run the Vista setup I ran into another error: 0x8007000D Windows was unable to create a required installation folder.

I'm having absolutely no luck installing Adobe CS3. I've tried everything that I could find suggested on various forums to no avail and have even contacted Adobe support. They tell me they don't support trial downloads but that my situation is "strange" and unusual. This is not the impression I get from looking at several different forums, also I can't buy a piece of software I can't install
I must have downloaded at least a dozen CS3 trials and attempted to install them. The files extract onto the desktop and then when I run setup I get the installer window. The bar moves across and that's the end of the story. I have tried running an elevated command prompt:- "cd C:WindowsSysWow64" then "regsvr32 vbscript.dll" then "regsvr32 jscript". I thought this was going to be successful but when I tried to run the installer it failed and I got the following message:..........

When I bought this computer it had Trial Versions of several Microsoft programs. One was MS Office 2007. I've tried to remove this and some of the other programs, and I get the "error code 2755", and cannot remove them. Some are sizeable and I would like to recover the space.

i recently downgraded my IE8 on vista, down to IE7 and have been waiting for IE8 to be fully released.. now from what i am reading in MS emails, it looks like its up and running as they are offering tools to upgrade ur websites, so they can be compatible with IE8 and so on... anyways b4 i go thru upgrade again, i was hoping someone could shed some light on weather its ready or not... i currently use IE8 on my win7 OS, but that one doesn't seem to be ready yet... so don't know?

I want to give a clone of my system (Ultimate) to colleagues with very similar hardware. If they get convinced, they would buy license keys of their own. As long as they test it, they should not run it with my license, but as a 30 days trial. Of course, my Vista is already activated. So, how can I turn its image back into an unactivatedtrial? (A clean install is no option for my colleagues, since I installed applications, drivers, tweaks and hacks, which only make the value of this particular installation.).

My full version of AVG just ran out a few days ago so i'm looking for a new antivirus program. I've downloaded trial versions of different scanners but I always get the same error message when iI try and install the program. "unknown publisher" Vista will not let me install antivirus software or any service packs.
Vista 32bit home edition OS - Internet Explorer. Pages don't load completely, runs very slow. I know a little about computers, I guess an average user.

we have recently got two new Asus N61j laptops which have came pre-installed with a Microsoft office trial version (amongst other things), now the computers that are being replaced have full versions of office on them and I was wondering if I could just uninstall office on the old laptops and use their product keys to activate the office on the new computers so that I would not have to do two new installs on the new computers

already has a Vista Home Basic trial installed but it has ended by now. It also has a couple of drivers already installed. However I have an OEM CD of Vista Business 64 that I'm going to use and I also want to have Vista to be in it's own partition. It's been a long time I had to format and create partitions so I don't remember much. And it was with XP then, not Vista. I was planning to format the drive and then install Vista Business 64, but I've been told I can simply select an 'upgrade' option from Home Basic to Business and keep the rest as it is. Is this true?
I also know you can create a partition in Vista, but can it be created in the drive where Vista is already installed? Like for example it's installed on a 640GB drive. Can I split it and have Vista be in a 80GB drive while the other 560GB are in a new completely empty partition? Also, in case I decide to format instead, should I do Quick Format or Format? I've been told the only thing normal format does is check for errors at the end. Taking in consideration that Vista Home Basic is currently installed is Quick Format acceptable?

I had been trying to install Norton AntiVirus 2009 15 days trial. When i click on the installation file, the installation will start. The status of the installation will only remain at "Intializing". Approximately 5 seconds later, the installation will stop, no prompt message appear.
Same scenario appears no matter how many times i tried to install.

I have a Aspire AM5620-E5301A Acer computer. On Acer it has Windows Vista Premium Home. I bought Windows Ultimate software to put on my Acer computer. It starts to load up OK, put in the key number in than next step is. To pick custom install or upgrade install, but upgrade choice is grey out. It is disable from using the upgrade choice, I want to choose to pick. I did not purchase Windows Ultimate through Acer anytime upgrade option. It was a store bought software it was cheaper than Acer price they offer. What is the problem with installing Ultimate with Acer computer?

I have a laptop with 64-bit Home Premium. The warranty expires in June. I want to upgrade to Ultimate. I haven't checked out the Anytime Upgrade yet. Will I be able to get the 64-bit upgrade to Ultimate or is a 32-bit upgrade to Ultimate the only upgrade path?

I have XP Pro, its quite good a little slow here and there despite the high end output of my computer( 2.6ghz core 2 duo E6600, 2GB Ram 2x 250gb HDD 512 pci-e card more fans than you can count ) I get along fine, apart from a sata issue i have been fighting with ASUS, but thats nothing really. but is it worth upgrading to Vista, one thing i noticed is that it takes 40GB on install thats a large jump from XP, i guess ill have to get a bigger main drive? 500gb or something. Also my G/card is directx 9 do i have to get 10?? or will vista work with the 9 card (ATI x1950xtx pro 512mb MSI Build) i run the full adobe suite cs3, word 2007, a few other industry video and imaging programes, divx and a load of games (mainly titles within the last 5/6 years)

I have 2 problems which may or may not be Vista-related:
Free AVG users have to upgrade to Ver. 8. I have tried twice yesterday.
1st time received 17.4MB
2nd time received 23.8MB
Same message for both: Some of the files are corrupted. Please download a
new copy. What is going on. Must I first remove the existing Ver. 7.5?
My Windows Live Mail doesn't shut down properly when I close it to shut
down. Then I receive one or more drafts when I log in again. The envelope

I am looking for a new PC for my wife and in order to get the most bang for the buck there seem to be an abundance of vista PCs out there that can be upgraded to windows 7. Unfortunately is seems that her 2 most expensive programs, Painter 9.5 and Photo shop CS2 won't run on a 64 bit O.S., or at least not without a lot of trouble. All of the PCs that I am looking at have 64 bit vista installed. My question is can I buy one of these and when I get my free upgrade disk for windows 7 can I install win 7 32 bit? I don't mind doing a clean install.

I tried to use my Vista Ultimate and bypassed the numbers and it would not let me into the OS, says I have to have an OS to upgrade. Microsoft techies said yes I have to install Win2000 then XP upgrade then Vista. Now I have to wipe my partition clean using a third party software and install 3 OS's, does that suck or what.

Can I do a upgrade from a XP 32bit Machine to Windows Vista 64bit by just adding the disk, hitting intall and all that, or do I need to do a clean install when changing to 64bit.
Also, if it's just your average HP machine with a AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800+ with 2GB ram and a 200GB HD.. is 64bit even really needed, or should I just do 32bit. As I'm installing vista and then selling the machine to someone locally.
