No Text Wrapping In Windows Live Email
Jul 29, 2009I am using the web based Windows Live email, and I just received an email with no text wrapping at all, even when the window is fully open. My computer operating system is XP.

Windows Live: Does Not Email Server
May 2, 2009Have set up windows live.com.au as email address as wireless provider does not have email server, thought it would be easy but tried many variations but cannot figure out pop3 or smtp server address, no use contacting provider as it is windows (ie hotmail account) any clues?

Apr 5, 2010I am quite new to Windows Live Mail having just switched from Windows Mail. There are some emails I want to keep as files in Documents but can't see anywhere that I can use 'save as' or whatever is needed. I have tried select all and copy/paste but as some of the stuff I want to save includes pictures it doesn't work for me.I am using Windows 7.

Mar 23, 2008I have upgraded from Windows Mail to Live Windows Mail and have imported my emails and contacts. The contacts have worked ok but I cannot find any of my imported emails. I have looked in the storage folders and imported folders as well as all other folders but there is no sign of any of my emails.

May 4, 2008When I go to websites, sometimes they have an email address (contact address) that I need to send an email to. XP would not allow me to use such a function with Hotmail because Outlook would pop up and say "no." This I understand because Hotmail is not allowed with Outlook. Now, that I've switched to Vista and Windows Live, I click on a website's contact email address and instead of Outlook popping out I get a Windows Live form which allows me to write an email to that website's contact address.
When I send the email (I have a Hotmail address) I do not get any errors and Windows Live gives me no indication that I have made an error. Yet, when I go to my Hotmail address, there is no indication that I had sent an email to the mentioned website's contact address. So, what gives? Can I use Hotmail as my email address when using Windows Live to send email to a website's contact address? Or do I just go back to copying the website's contact email address and pasting it into my Hotmail's address form like I did with XP, and now Vista?

May 12, 2009i also tried to change my default email to windows live, it doesn't work, comes up w/ some weird kind of mail that doesn't send messages (not sure if it's trying to use windows mail even tho it's set to windows live mail, or what). so, i'm trying to set up my windows live account (which is new, just set it up a couple of months ago), through windows mail. tried setting to pop3.live.com and smtp.live.com and when it goes to connect i keep getting this error message:

Feb 21, 2009what is it; last week i emailed a page and it went thru ie7 msn.com e-mail and this week i can't e-mail because i not have "microsoft.com" address and can't seem to find out how or where i can get this new address; i do get "live mail" but t what address! what am i doing wrong??? why is microsoft making the use of ie7 more difficult use; there is NO possible reason for this; is there??

Dec 12, 2009The login screen for my computer is missing all text and controls except the speech assistance button in the bottom left corner. If you click this the password filed does display and you can login. After login all text is missing from icons etc. Start menu will not display nor will right click menu. If applications are lanced they show in the task bar but never become visible. That said full screen applications such as games will launch from the desktop and work fine. I have scanned the hard drive for viruses with AVG from a Ubuntu instance on the computer which found no viruses.

Feb 10, 2009recently I've just been noticing a lot of text being cutt off at the end, or even cutt of vertically when it goes to a second line. I've posted about this on a couple other forums but had no success fixing it and my google searches aint produced much either. I thought this was just winamp messing up at first but then i noticed it in itunes as well and now i keep seeing it everywhere, in some webpages and a few other apps. Heres a few examples. A while back i had some problems with a load of fonts being deleted somehow so that vista started using some other ones instead. in the end i fixed this by copying all the missing fonts from my vista laptop over to my desktop. Dunno if this is what has caused my current prob but might have something to do with it.

May 6, 2008I'm running vista 64 home premium and I have noticed that on a number of windows games the hint windows are dispalying over large fonts so you cant read the entire hint. for example in freecell when you try to move a stack of cards thats too large the hint window is supposed to tell you how many cards you are able to move at that moment, but that part of the message is off the egde of the window. Ive noticed this with all the card games the mahjong game even the kids game Purble place. Ive tried adjusting the fonts dpi setting and even the advanced setting from personalizations.

Aug 24, 2009I have a Windows Live Mail account and a Yahoo account and they both show up on the left hand side of my Window Live Mail account so I can choose which account I want to use or, for example, which inbox to look in. At the bottom, also on the left hand side of my Windows Live Mail account, it shows 'Add e-mail account', which is what I want to do with a new 'AOL' account and I want it to show on the left hand side like the two other accounts.
So I made a new AOL e-mail account, clicked 'Add e-mail account' at the bottom of my 'Windows Live Account', then I put in my new AOL e-mail account and password where it showed me. Then I clicked next.
The next page was all about my email server. When I did this before with a new e-mail account, it was all filled out automatically for me, but this time, all the blanks were left open and I have no idea what to fill in. I believe once I have this information, the AOL e-mail account will automatically then show on the left hand pane of my Windows Live Mail account below the other two accounts.

Mar 23, 2008Well for what I use a computer for email, browsing, e-commerce and blogging, SP1 made no difference. Still swapping windows at random and loosing text in input forms and applications. In short, not something we disabled folks can use effectively or efficiently. I'll bet business productivity is truly terrible if everyone has my experience. I can't even get MSN to recognize my spelling dictionary from Office 2007. Vista's just not a good product from my standpoint.

Windows could not search for new updates. Error(s) found: Code 80040154. Get help I have googled my error code but not many responses. So thats my first concern
b)Live Messenger 8.1- Secondly, i was shocked to find my msn wasn't working (works on web based version, so cant be wrong login details) first the typing was slow then i get the error code: 800401f3 denying me login. I searched up the code and found i had to type up some things in cmd...........

when I pressed the download button, I saw the file was named wlsetup-web.exe. Does this mean that to install Mail, I will first be installing the framework for installing any other Live applications I may want in the future? That is, is this like installing only Word from the Office suite?
Windows Live Keeps Opening Itself Over
Jan 5, 2008i have a hewlett packard computer thahas vista home edition in the motherboard. and windows live keeps opening itself over and over and over sometimes it tries to open 5 copies of itself at once. and i have done several spyware scans with several different pograms including norton, adaware, spybot, mcaffe and windows defender. i and spyware free on my hard drive yet this progran will not leave me alone!
if i play a game.. it closes out me gaming window every 3 seconds some times demading my attention if i am surfuing the internet it will over ride my keyboard and make itself the formost window. if i close the program out completley it restarts itself and will try to run 5 copies of itself at once.............

Every time I open it, I have to click on Newsgroups. I would like to be able to open Windows Live Mail and have it directly open to Newsgroups.

Mar 28, 2009Windows Mail is so buggy I am beginning to feel I shall be forced to use Windows Live Mail, which I dislike imtensely. Almost wonder if that is what MS want and therefore dont fix WM. In Windows Live Mail, is there any way of sizing or moving the list of email accounts which dominates the whole of the left hand column? I have many accounts and having them take up so much space is just awful. It's the huge account headers that cause the problem - really bad design. Also, how does one get buttons for the common functions onto the menu bar? Or is this impossible and yet another bad design flaw? Why on earth don't MS provide OE for Vista? There was nothing wrong with it and the demand for it seems enormous.
