I go to the taskbar properties to check on thing and the sport to click these icons are grayed out.
Often, not all of my notification icons show in the System Tray. I check and the app is running - but, without the icon, I can't access the app. Is this fixable?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to the Notification Area properties, only the "Clock" option is checked. The "Volume", "Network", and "Power" options are un-checked AND grayed-out so I can't check them. How do I get these system icons back? (I'm running Vista Home Premium-SP2, and the only recent changes have been "Windows Updates" - critical updates only.) Bob C.
View 6 Replies View Relatedall my desktop icons got suddenly changed to internet explorer icons,after (i opened some program in the internet,) then i did some personalisation then it changed to my adobe photoshop icon, all the desktop icons now shows the adobe,,icons.like all my programs which was earlier like (yahoo msngr, msn mesengr,windows vista programs,almost all other programs) and my internet wireless stopped working. i have a vista home premium 32. and my comp is asus f3t series. i was trying to do the icon cache, but couldnt find. tried restarting but couldnt solve.now trying to run my antivirus scan Mcafee. if anybody knows the solution to restore my earlier icons.

Now they don't display anything except a flower, house, ect. My question is: How do I change the picture icon setting back so I can see a tiny preview thingy for each icon, instead of having to click on each one to see what they really are?
View 4 Replies View RelatedDesktop icons overwritten. After a recent automatic update it appears my desktop icons have two icons on top of each other. Visible on top is the "default" icon and slightly visible underneath is the original icon. I use Firefox and Vista Ultimate 32.
View 5 Replies View RelatedA Vista SP1 Home Premium problem - 9 live icons covering 9 dead icons: Several days ago I had a desktop with 9 live, working icons at the bottom of the desktop. ie: recycle bin, computer, network, control panel, etc. The 9th icon was a folder called 'powershell'.
Several days ago I deleted the 'powershell' folder, and, underneath that folder, was surprised to find a dead copy of the 'powershell' folder. The deleted 'powershell' folder was in the recycle bin, and an undeleted dead copy on the desktop. This dead copy cannot be accessed with selection, left-click, or right-click operations - so the 'Properties' info cannot be displayed.........
Everytime I restart my PC, my desktop icons go where ever they want each time. What is causing this and is their a way to lock the icons in place?

1. Set audio track and subtitles for your converted video* ?Audio Track? and ?Subtitle? are under the preview window
2. GET ANY TIME-LENGTH VIDEO CLIPS Click ?Trim? button to open the trim window, you can set the exact begin and end time for your clips or just drag the slider bar.

so I finally said the heck with it.. and I disabled the UAC.. becuase it's very very irritating for it to stop EVERYTHING I do on my system.. But, every single time I restart my Machine I get the little popup, and the notification that it's been changed and the little RED X warning in system tray. I don't like seein a bad mark when nothing is wrong.. so I went into the setting and found a place where I could click do not notify, but show Icon.. so now the popup is gone, but it's still there.. is there ANY way I can completely get rid of it so It doesn't bother me every singe time I restart my system... just a thought.. let me kno please.

through the proper uninstall process and it all went smoothly. However now
when I boot up and log into Vista I get a little error message saying
there's a problem with winamp and that I should re-install to rectify it!
it has an OK button that gets rid of the message. It's not causing any
problems but it's beginning to annoy me!
I have tried CCleaner to clean up the registry and it did find many
references to winamp and it cleaned it all up but despite that the darned
message persists! I had a look in regedit and clicked to find instances of
winamp and there are lots of keys. I was very tempted to just delete them
all.

I have a really strange problem on my VISTA home premium PC. I have a number of HTML files stored in documents folder, but when I try to edit the HTML file in notepad I get the following error message: Cannot create the file. Make sure that the path and file name are correct.
File and path are correct because I just opened it from the documents folder. What makes it strange is that if I change the extension from HTML to TXT I can edit and save without any issue, but once I change back to HTML I lose the ability to save any edits. Also, if I copy the HTML file to another folder such as desktop or C: root, I can edit without any issues. I've checked the properties of the folder and file and haven't found anything out of the ordinary. Searched the MS KB and haven't turned up anything.
Is there a way in Windows Vista (Ultimate, SP2) that I can edit and alter file associations other than the method outlined in the Help file (which is to right-click on a file, then click on Open With ...)? I'm having network troubles, so I reboot my router and my Windows, just to make sure everything is clean.
During startup, a file opens on my desktop in in TextPad (a utility that I have installed since December, but have not used or made changes to in recent months). This file is in C:UsersMikeAppData LocalTemp and is named nos_uninstall_Adobe.bat......
How does one set the file type associations for the Open and Edit options in the menu that appears when I right click on a file? Vista seems to have hidden the FileTypes tab in the options dialog of WinExplorer.

Just wondering if it's possible to UPGRADE from Vista Premium 64 edition to Ultimate 64 without doing a clean install. I've tried 3 times and it never finishes the "completing Install" stage. Also, can you transfer a registered vista program from one computer to another.
