In the windows mail, how do you view and edit the words that you have added into your computers dictionary? A wrong spelling was added into my computers dictionary by accident and now it doesn't find that misspelling and it is a frequently used and important word to have.
I was not paying attention when using the spell check the other day & clicked on "add" instead of "change" so now have words like "i" added in lower case. Know how to edit in WLM but it does not seem to work the same way in WM. Have tried searching for an answer but no luck.
1. How do I edit the custom dictionary in Windows Mail? I misspelt "neighbour" as "nieghbour" and cannot undo it. 2. Is there a BRITISH spell checker for the app? It is becoming very tedious to have to add words like "favourite", "neighbour", "realise", and "colour" to the AMERICAN one...
How do I change the spelling of a word in the Spell Check dictionary? By mistake I indicated that TEH was the correct spelling for THE. Now it thinks that teh is ok and doesn't point it out as incorrect.
I'm unable to use spell check. I keep getting the following message "This language is no longer available for spell check". What do I need to do to activate spell check?
where to find the spell checker dictionary so I can add or delete words from it? I use open office if that makes any difference, I obviously accepted the wrong spelling of the word "the" and accepted the spelling as "teh" now every time I spell "the" wrong the spell checker does not find the error.
When using the Spell Check, I inadvertantly clicked on the "Add" button, which put a word I misspelled into my Spell Check list. I would like to remove this unwanted word, but I cannot figure out to get rid of it, since there isn't a "Remove" button in the Spell Check window. Does anyone know if this word can be taken out of Spell Check?
Why does this not say American and why is English not available. 70% of words Highlighted have the correct spelling and mail simply wants to use the American corruptions. In virtually every other Microsoft product we have both English (American) and English (True or UK as normally quoted). Why not in this product after all Americans only make up some 4 or 5% of the world population?
My vista laptop won't spell check in Word. I have tried a number of things to try and solve this problem but none seem to work. I have gone to WORD OPTIONS; PROOFING and checked all the appropriate boxes and it still won't check my spellings. It works for the grammar but doesn't even pick up made up words that I try to test it with! I have checked my dictionary and ran the Microsoft Office Diagnostics. I have watched the tutorials and read one other post with the same problem but there was no solution for it.
how do i get this probelm fixed i just bought this computer in the last few months. the spell check error message reads this language is no longer available for spell checking. please select another in spelling options dialog.
can someone one come up with a solution to the spell check? I have been on vista for a while & when I started the spell checker was O.K. & then suddenly it went 'sour'. I am sick of answering emails that I can't do a spell check on, so now I open a ducument in word - spell check it - & then copy & paste into my email that I am trying to answer. don't give me the bulls..t about changing my language- saving- & then going back & changing the language back to English. I'ts a heap of 'cods wallop'.
Since Outlook Express has been replaced by Windows Mail I am no longer able to use spellcheck. Is that permanent or is there something I have to do to get it up and running?
If I don't have MS Word, does that mean I won't have a dictionary for spell check in Windows Mail to use? If so, is there an option for acquiring a dictionary?
I'm unable to use my spell check in my msn mail. I have ms word loaded and my spell check works fine in that program. I checked my windows mail and that also checks out. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did they fix it
I think (hopefull) the spell check in the mail is corrected....but has anyone had trouble with windows works? I can't get the spell and grammer check to work most of the time I get a message about needing to re-install and corrupt files...the computer was new and I got this message and nothing was on the computer.
I have Vista. In my old email program - outlook express - I had the spellcheck set to automatically capitalize I's, the first word in a sentence, change words in progress and many other things. I can't do that in my new windows mail with Vista.
How is that possible when it is the English language? This make no sense to me at all. Just a few minutes ago it spell checked another e-mail I just sent out.
I had a Gateway laptop that I purchased new a few years ago, with Vista Home Premium. I really like the spell check option up top on the tool bar. I now have a brand new laptop - Gateway FX, with Vista Home Premium. But, it is no where to be found on my pc. What gives?
I know absolutely nothing about operating systems & all the other technical speak, I have just upgraded my computer from XP to Vista. How do I get spell check on windows mail? I've found out how to do it in Word but can't figure how to spell check in mail. It appears a BIG error in the system. why no spell check in tool bar?
Microsoft seems to have hidden the UK English dictionary in Windows Live Mail. After Googling around for info I decided to automate the installation and have written a small program to so. If you want to try it out get it here:
I do have Window Vista premium and it says on window mail not available. I followed a suggestion toclick on tools and then option, but I do not have an option to click on in tools.
1. Once by mistake I okayed i to be added as a word in the spell check. Many times I type in i as there is not enough pressure on the shift key. Question - how do I restore my word dictionary to undo i as an incorrect word?
2. My spell check does not pick up small case for the start of a sentence/paragraph? How do I fix that?
I had this issue once before on a different PC and it was XP not Vista, and got tech support but forgot how to fix it. My spell check in e-mail works fine except misses the letter I standing alone. Tech support took me somewhere (in WORD I think) and we found this box that had the small letter i in it and was not supposed to have anything in it. Spelling rules or something. We removed it and it then worked fine.
