Cannot Edit The Registry
Jun 25, 2008I am trying to add an entry to the registry, but am denied access. I tried running regedit as Admin, no good. I tried logging in as Admin, no good.

Scared To Edit Registry!!
May 30, 2010I once had software called Winamp installed. I no longer wanted it so went
through the proper uninstall process and it all went smoothly. However now
when I boot up and log into Vista I get a little error message saying
there's a problem with winamp and that I should re-install to rectify it!
it has an OK button that gets rid of the message. It's not causing any
problems but it's beginning to annoy me!
I have tried CCleaner to clean up the registry and it did find many
references to winamp and it cleaned it all up but despite that the darned
message persists! I had a look in regedit and clicked to find instances of
winamp and there are lots of keys. I was very tempted to just delete them
all.
Task Manager, Registry Edit And Command Prompt Disabled
Sep 13, 2008My task manager, registry edit and command promt was all disabled by administrator, But I am using an administrator ID(only ID on my PC). I tried to get some enable programme online, but after download can't run(double click and no respond). I scanned my PC with updated anti-Virus programe and window defender found no problem. Could someone help me on this topic? I am using Vista home premium.

Win 7 compatible - have used this and deleted all 1200 entries it found. It makes a backup - been running for several hours and reboots with no probs. Also working fine so far on my Vista x64 and Win 7 x86 installs. After cleaning you need to shut the app. and reopen it for it to find it's backups. (Easy to find them by hand - it can compress them to.7z files, too ). Have used their regdefrag a lot - identical scans and results to the Auslogics and Glary versions- so use whichever defragger you already have. WARNING: not recommended to defrag registry across drives.

Nov 13, 2009I am using this program to clean up my registry and it seems to work fine except the errors keep coming back. I can do a scan, clean up all the errors and then shut down and start up and I have a new 20 registry error list and most or all of the errors relate to "bad path for the value" and its windows files that seem to be at fault. I don't understand why Microsoft operating system would create registry errors on a startup, before anything has been installed etc. is RegistryBooster misleading me or what. I am running win7 but it did the same thing on vista home premium so I think the question is valid for this group.

Unable To Edit HTML File
Oct 5, 2009I have a really strange problem on my VISTA home premium PC. I have a number of HTML files stored in documents folder, but when I try to edit the HTML file in notepad I get the following error message: Cannot create the file. Make sure that the path and file name are correct.
File and path are correct because I just opened it from the documents folder. What makes it strange is that if I change the extension from HTML to TXT I can edit and save without any issue, but once I change back to HTML I lose the ability to save any edits. Also, if I copy the HTML file to another folder such as desktop or C: root, I can edit without any issues. I've checked the properties of the folder and file and haven't found anything out of the ordinary. Searched the MS KB and haven't turned up anything.

I'm having network troubles, so I reboot my router and my Windows, just to make sure everything is clean.
During startup, a file opens on my desktop in in TextPad (a utility that I have installed since December, but have not used or made changes to in recent months). This file is in C:UsersMikeAppData LocalTemp and is named nos_uninstall_Adobe.bat......

Mar 27, 2008My graphic card is NVIDA GeForce 7600 GT WDDM. One old LCD monitor which is non PnP and one new 24" acer LCD monitor which is a PnP monitor. Both monitors displayed the boot up information from the BIOS when booting up. The old monitor screen became blank when the Windows "welcome" message appeared. The Windows system recoginsed two monitors presented one PnP and one non PnP but can't recongised it under the display setup monitor. It only display 1 multi monitor on NVIDA GeForce 7600 GT and 2 general non PnP monitor on NVIDA GeForce 7600 GT. I can edit the resolution in 1 but not 2. I tried to swap the cable slots between the monitors and the new one always became the main monitor.

I am right clicking the Windows Start button and choosing "Explore All Users" as directed. It works fine for 85% of the items on the Start Menu but there are still several items on the menu that don't show up in the Start Menu/Programs directory that comes up to edit the menu. Mar 10, 2010I was using Windows XP on my desktop before. There was some changes I had to make with the hardware. I am currently on my laptop with Windows Vista 64-bit. I plan on installing XP or Windows 7 hopefully this weekend. But since it may take longer than expected: I do have certain files I transfered from my old hard-drive in an external hard-drive enclosure through my laptop onto an external hard-drive.
I was wondering if I edit the files, the rtf files (rich text files) or the mp3 metadata for instance: Will it be a problem when those files get re-introduced into a 32-bit environment or another OS? I doubt it since a file is a file. If I download or view a file from myspace or soundcloud, or microsofts site I am pretty sure it is irrelevant what operating system was used to make the program. As long as I have the right player, program, viewer, application, etc. I know if a file is 64-bit it won't work in 32-bit.
