Users running Windows Vista: Click the ?Start? button. Type: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%Application DataOffice Genuine Advantage data Delete the file: data.dat Go to and click the Validate Office button. But not only do I get an access denied even when running explorer as admiistrator, but the full path resolves to nothing. I installed the TECHNET version of Vista Ultimate, and then I had to copy all my old dir's over from windows.old. Then I installed Office again, but now I get the errors.
i have 4 yahoo and 7 aol and one gmail account is it possible to add all of them in outlook 2007 or windows mail or any other mail application and what i want is that i will able to send reply or new message from any one of them ot just from my default mail. is it possible any plugin or add-on or any other app with which i can do it.
Recently windows installed office geniune advantage notification software. I am runniing Vista Home Premium SP2 with Office XP. When I load an office program a window pops up that says my copy is not geniune. How can I get rid of this? I can't find it to uninstall it.
I just finished restoring my computer and installing updates and my office software asked to validate itself over the internet and when it was done it left a folder called Office Genuine Advantage in my user folder. My office is genuine so this isn't a hide the notification thing or anything, just that there is an annoying folder in my user folder. All it contains is another folder (Data) which itself contains only one file, oaddin.dat. Can I delete this folder or is it and the one file there for a reason?
I have been running Vista with MS Works for some time. I have never bothered to install my ols copy of MS Office XP because I only use the word processor and the one that came installed with Vista was perfectly fine. However, about a month ago I had to install Office XP because I had to send some papers to my university tutor and he could only open documents in the .doc format. However, I now find that when I try to send batches of photos with their size reduced through Windows Photo Gallery they are routed through Outlook Express on MS Office XP and there is no way to send them. There is a message bar telling me the mail has not been sent but there is no send tab. I assume this is because I no longer have Outlook Express. I can send them one at a time if I open windows mail and send them as an attachment but that is a bit tedious. My question is: how do I get the photos to route from Photo Gallery through Windows Mail rather than Outlook.
I uninstalled Office 2007 trial version and loaded on my trusty copy of Office 2000 Premium (I custom installed without loading on Outlook as I know this may cause problems). Everything seems to work OK except Word. It opens, then hangs, then I get a 'Not Responding' message come up. I have looked a few other fixes -: Re naming Normal.dot (this does not seem to appear in any files) and I have changed the default printer (that didn't work either). I can get word to open if I type in winword.exe /a but I know this is only a temporary fix.
I just purchased a new laptop that has Vista. I am also using MS Outlook 2002. AOL is my ISP. I use MS Outlook on my desktop that has Windows XP. I don't have any problems on my desktop. When I put in all the specifications for imap.aol.com in Vista, I was able to download the emails but when I tried to open the emails, I got a message that imap.aol.com was offline. I was online. Does anyone know what I need to do to correct the problem? A discussion forum in AOL said that there is/was an update patch available thru MS Update or Office update.
i have a brand new HP Pavilion Slimline s3542.uk Desktop PC that seems to be working fine but I cannot download my emails into office outlook 2007 or get my NOD32 anti virus to update. My internet access is fine either wireless or hard wired directly to the router and my old XP PC works fine on the same connection. I have tried disabling the windows firewall and router firewall and also the anti virus, i have tried installing a different anti virus (avg) but all to no avail. Operating system is vista home premium 64 bit. Windows update is up to date.
At first I had problems with outlook freezing on start up. I tried to repair the installation and that didn't work so I tried to uninstall but going through add/remove programs didn't work so I had to follow the microsoft guide to manually uninstall it. That seemed to work but now I can't get it to install, the installer just hangs and doesn't go anywhere. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of and my next move is reformatting which I don't really want to do.
Any one have any issues with part of the words on the left hand side of the screen missing when microsoft office outlook is open? It's really wierd, sometimes the whole word is there and somtimes like the last one or two letters are mising but nothing that seems regular from day to day. Like on the name "Sent Items" sometimes it just says "Sent Iten"
I've been experiencing some problems with the Windows Vista Home Premium Edition lately. It all started when my Internet Explorer or Microsoft Office Outlook kept on getting stuck, and I would get a note that Internet Explorer / Outlook is restarting. I've been experiencing this problem in particular only with these two.
Next - as of yesterday, I started getting all these weird messages when logging onto familiar websites, such as Google and even Microsoft, about how there's a problem with the websites' security certificate, and that it's expired, so I have to click on "Continue to this website" every single time, and the worst part is that I can't logon to my MSN Messenger! The Error Code is: 80048820, and the Extended Error Code is: 80048412. I've tried working with their Troubleshoot, but nothing works! It's strange, because my Skype is working perfectly fine.
I don't live at home, so MSN is a very important communication tool for me. The third problem is that all of the usual Windows Updates, which are normally downloaded automatically, are not downloaded anymore, and I get a message that the Updates could not be downloaded.

Everytime I open outlook or try to take any action, I get "please wait while windows configures microsoft office ultimate 2007". it takes a good while before it goes away. I have cleared the registry. I have uninstalled the previous trial office. I have uninstalled ultimate and reinstalled. Turned off the User security. looked at loads of threads
I have an OEM version of Vista Home Premium x64. I would like to install another copy on a different hard drive on the same system. Will the second installation fail validation? Will the first installation become disabled? What kind of side effects can I expect?
I'm running Vista64 ultimate SP1 and had to reactive a month or two ago because of hardware changes. Tonight I flashed my bios (only thing I did) and I was notified I had to activate Vista again! It took about 20min last time... what a pain in the arse.
I decided to attempt an online reactivation and low and behold Vista reactivated? How could this be? I installed once with the key. The second time I had to call Microsoft (in India I think) and the third validation was OK online? I don't know if this has happed to others but I thought I'd share my weird experience with the latest and greatest Micro$oft product.
I have recently installed Vista on my comps(2). I installed the first comp sans the Validation number and ran it for two days to confirm all was OK. I then validated it and decided to install to the second comp. I validated this setup (different number )and later found that I was getting probs. (eventually tracked it down to the battery in the wireless mouse being low on power). I reinstalled Vista perfectly then validated, ollowed by all the updates. ( I now have Windows.old using up disk space and am somewhat doubtful about removing it ).
I have Googled the following: How do I check my Vista validation? All I get is how to cheat the WGA with some crack! So, can some kind person tell me how to check on the comp where I look for the Validation number.
I downloaded Vista SP1 and then tried to download Defender but my computer wouldn't pass the validation test. It had until then! I uninstalled SP1 and then tried but it still wouldn't allow me to download. My copy of Vista premium is legal and was on my computer when purchased it in August 2007.
I have been able to delete Microsoft Office Outlook from Office 2007 , but NOW when I am on Internet Explorer and want to send a page by email, using the "page" drop down are listed "PAGE", it say CANNOT send PAGE or cannot send LINK until I CREATE A PROFILE under the MICROSOFT OFFICE OUTLOOK--- I just got rid of OUTLOOK OFFICE but I NEED this usage of my computer.. I am ready to UNSTALL OFFICE 2007 and send it on a thousand pieces to Bill Gates...THIS is soooooooooooo frustrating. Now I know why the MAC commercials are right on target. I NEED usage of my WIN MAIL AND the usage of "send page or link by email" on my computer...

I simply dont know what directx I have now. I cant see it anywhere, but when I try to run and download directx form microsoft site it says that I got one on my computer. But where is it? Its not in the C disk, its not in The D disk. I cant see it in install uninstall programms directory. So how can I see what kind of directx ive got? I would like to completely delete all of it and install a new direct x 10. Some body tell me please how to delete all the existing direct x and where is it?
So i've been dealing with 100% CPU usage for the last 3 weeks. I've narrowed down the cause to the Flash plugin for ANY browser, regardless of IE or Firefox. Anytime Flash is loaded in the browser, the CPU shoot straight up to 100% until you close the browser. I've google'd solutions for this. The only one I've seen is the all FULL CONTROL for the Everyone user on two of the Flash drives. This does not work. So I tried something else.
I reformatted and started from scratch. As soon as the Flash plugin was installed, BOOM, right to 100% CPU usage again. This happened on both Vista x64 Ultimate w/ SP2 and a clean install of Windows 7 x64 Ultimate RTM (It's a legal copy.)......
I'm learning to use Vista (new computer purchased yesterday) and my old PC as XP and Office 2003. I only use the calendar feature of Outlook and was wondering if there's a way to import my outlook file (outlook.pst) to Vista Calendar (seems to only import .ics files) as I don't yet have Outlook 2007 installed on my Vista PC.
Installed Office 2003 on new computer which is running Vista Home Premium 64 bit. Unable to change the Office Assistant image from the paper clip. Receive message "not enough memory to perform this operation.: Computer has 4g of memory! Microsoft says this is an unresolved compatability problem with Office 2003.
Originally, I had Office 2003 installed in my computer, & a trial version of 2007 that had already expired.
Today I installed a full version of Microsoft Office 2007, without removing any of the other two versions from my computer. I realized that it seemed to automatically remove the older version. I`m not bother about it not being there, as I got the new version, but I wonder if this is an automatic uninstalling that Office does, or if the version is still there but I can`t see it, as I would like to remove it properly if it`s still somewhere in my computer.
I checked in Control Panel & the only thing I can see is "Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007", the full version I just installed, & everything that come with it. No 2003 anywhere.
I know you can do this document-by-document by opening each document individually and clicking "Upgrade" or whatever, but is there a way to convert all your Office documents at once?
