BF2 went to blue screen of death after a couple of mins playing,so after i played around with the sound (which it wasn't) i uninstalled the Nvidia drver and replaced it with this beta one which was not a vast upgrade (163.22 to 163.44) but it worked. Brian Lara 2007 kept having the emulator prob or wot ever it was(yes i did intall the patch from codemasters) so i got the "No-DVD" patch and hey presto it worked?

the game has installed but once tryin to load it says this

I have tried going into the display settings and advanced settings then troubleshooting but my computer does not allow me to change it as the icon is grayed out.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI can install CoH from my DVD no problem. The game works. When I try to patch it, the game becomes corrupt. I can get patch 1.40 to install, after that it is a no go. I am completely frustrated. I must be having a hardware conflict or a corrupt install disc. I do a selective startup with only Windows services running. Each an every time I get this error message involving this file "ww2data.sga" and this code: Error 10104. Anyone else on Vista 64 experiencing this problem? View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter installing the patch the singleplayer is fine but it seems multiplayer is broken. If I start a server it loads the map but locks up straight away, also looks as though it's missing textures(random black spots) It even crashes from menus if I try and change my character as its also missing textures (all black) Ive tried uninstalling, reinstalling etc. Latest Catalyst drivers, card is a 4870. Running as admin, compatability mode etc make no difference, weird as it works fine with no patch, unfortuantely all the servers require 1.42.

I have a new system that has been working flawlessly til this patch. vista64 home premium, and the offending device is a microsoft usb wheelmouse optical.Now when ever I reboot it says new hardware found and driver instillation failed. I downloaded and installed intellipoint 6.1 for 64bit. and device manager shows no conflict and if i just clear out of the error boxes it works fine. Just everytime I reboot it does same thing again. It in fact, it cannot even recognize the device it is trying to install drivers for which is why i think it fails the driver update on reboot. I found out the hard way by telling vista to ignore the problem and it promptly disconnected the mouse altogether. I tried restoring to a point before the patch but it did not fix
the problem. One of the patches warned that it cannot be removed , so my guess is that is what is causing the problem.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI can sucessfully load up the game and all however whenever i try to join a multiplayer game(says "Joining Server... then crashes" or finish loading a single player game(after the textures are loaded or the shaders it just crashes) OR whenever i click audio in settings my game(right after i click audio it just goes boom) just crashes back to desktop with the BF2142.exe error. I've read about many different crashes with other people but this seems different, people have had crashes during map changes, splash screen, and a few secs after joining the server, havent seen anyone with my problem of crashing when i see the "joining server.." box.

1)reinstalling/repatching
2)run the exe as admin.
3)disable UAC and reinstall/repatch after restart
Im pretty sure my computer can handle the game, my old one did fine and this one owns it. Im kind of lost, I've tried many things and this freaking game just doesnt want to work.
I installed SS2 on this PC (runs windows vista home premium 32bit), but sadly the game won't run correctly. I've looked around a little bit, and I see that not watching the videos is a common problem. But that's not my main problem <:/ I can run the game just fine for about 30 seconds... suddenly, it just freezes. The last sound is looped, and the mouse is frozen.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble enabling AHCI under Windows Vista Business x64. I initially installed the OS with AHCI enabled in the BIOS, but I receive stop code 7B upon reboot. The only way to get the OS to boot is to disable AHCI in the BIOS. The last time I installed the OS, I was able to apply a registry patch and manually copy IaStor.sys (from the Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver) into the WindowsSystem32drivers folder. This would allow me to boot and run the system with AHCI enabled, and utilize the Intel Turbo Memory flash cache module I installed. I also made sure that Msahci.sys was set to start on boot as per the instructions at

Dell sent a new computer, furthermore many IT personnel from the place that I work had check the computer and all got to the answer that is a Vista problem. Every game I play crashes, or fails to load at all, or gets into the game and crashes during map load. I have Vista Ultimate 64 installed. i can't alt-tab out of a steam game, counter-strike. it's never done this before, and i'm trying to think of what i may have done for this to occur, but nothing comes to me. the only thing i can do to get out of the game is by quitting the game itself, or ctrl-alt-del to task manager. when i go to task manager, it says that the "aero" theme of vista isn't compatible with the game. like i said, it's never had this problem before.

I can't play Quake wars enemy territory, can't play cyris, battlefield 2 demo won't work. All these are demo. Age of empires 3 and war chiefs work just fine.
in the games that don't work they will eventually lock up after a minute to 3 minutes. you also see tons of weird very fast moving lines all over the screen. not sure how to describe it. can take a screenshot if possible.
Temp is fine im sure as is ram etc.
is this a video card being dead issue or what could it be? i am guessing hardware cus this happens in more then one game and the same thing and it happens in both vista and xp. i have prebuilt with the pc it came with vista home premium sp1 64bit and i installed on the second hard drive xp sp3 pro and both oses and the same games have the same issues.
I installed newest nvidia 64bit drivers for vista and the issue still happened.
I'm totally clueless here. My guess is i'll have to take it where I got it for a replacement which is fine as i'm under warranty for 2 total years from when i bought this pc a few months ago.
doing a recovery on the pc doesn't help either. I'm also not running any software other then the game.
i don't have any other issues on the pc, just these ones mentioned in here.
They tell me to uninstall from the control panel. ie go to START,CONTROL PANEL,PROGRAMS etc. so i've highlighted it in the list-normally i would just click UNINSTALL but they tell me to only use the copy/paste method. How do i do this.? I only know how to copy/paste my registration key in to the initial download,never ever done it before so i'm not clear on how i do it while the title is in the list amongst everything else.
