The onboard adapter is an ATI Radeon x1250 and the second adapter is an ATI HD2400. When I connect 4 monitor, everytime I shut down or restart my pc I loose all my settings. The second monitor is always disabled and put at the left side of my primary monitor. I installed catalyst 9.1 drvers and the pc is a Lenovo Thinkcentre A61 9143-CTO.

i was installing my farcry 2 pc game on my computer but suddenly i got a blue screen and then i heard my hard drive loose speed and automatic restart why tis happen (after the restart everything was back to normal i install the game and play perfectly) i am using windows vista x32bit ultimate. here is the report

I am having issues with ntune. I want to OC my GPU and I cannot. When I install ntune I loose the abilities to tweak the video settings. As a matter of fact it seems like the software gets screwy and nothing shows when the window opens.

Just got a new computer - HP with Vista Home Premium 64bit. Video card is ATI Radeon HD4850 with two DVI outputs. I have twin Acer V223W monitors connected with DVI cables.
I can figure out how to set them up in Vista, and also in ATI Catalyst, setting the default and extending the desktop and all that. I had been running dual monitors like this for years on my former XP machine. My problem is, each time Vista goes to sleep, or hibernates, and even on some restarts it reverts back to clone mode. HUGE pain in the butt.

Since installing 180.48 yesterday, when I reboot or start-up, it all defaults to a single monitor and messes up my icons. Fault appears to be on the NVIDIA part of things, as it loses the tick in the second Monitor under the NVIDIA Control Panel "Set Up Multiple Displays". It doesn't lose the tick in "Do Not USe SLI Config".

I set my 2nd monitor (i.e. not the laptop screen) as my main monitor, however, after every restart Vista always reverts back to the Laptop as the main monitor. How can I stop Vista reverting backto the Laptop as the main monitor? (This happens aven though at no stage have I un-docked the laptop!)

How much ram would my 32 bit pc loose if i upgraded it with an ati x2 gfx card? Currently have 4gb ram & 512mb gfx card, with only 3.2mb ram recognised, ill assume it would be around 1.7gb?? If thats the case, a lot of users will be upgrading their vista to 64 bit. Dont know how many 64 bit users there are now, but looks like this card pretty much demands it.

Here's my deal...if I leave the computer on for a few days or what not my computer looses my slave drive. This drive is what I keep my pics and music on. When I reboot the drive re-appears. Any ideas as to why? This has just started out of the blue. I only noticed it because I was going to email a pic from the slave and the slave was not there.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI added a second monitor to the GeForce 7100 GS using a DVI-VGA adapter and for the life of me cannot get it to display anything, the monitor is just in sleep mode. I've got the latest driver, Windows is up to date, checked the cables, tried another adapter, tried everything but, still nothing. The second monitor shows up in the device manager and in the Nvidia control panel. It's enabled and set to extend desktops. It seems the system knows it's there because I can move the mouse over, but cannot see anything. The power light on the second monitor just flashes. I've swapped monitors over, to make sure there's not a problem with the display and it's fine. When I do that, the main monitor is then plugged in to the DVI adapter and then that one goes to sleep. Just seems whichever monitor is plugged in to the DVI-VGA adapter just doesn't want to work........
View 9 Replies View Relatedi have only one monitor, and somehow it is being treat as though its the secondary monitor in a dual monitor set up. i cannot view my start menu, or view any programs being opened, as when i try to open them, they presumeably open on the phantom primary monitor. even when i try to open display settings, i cannot see the box. i am able to move my mouse to the left border of the screen and move it off into oblivion, and occasionally drag random folders and short cuts over to view.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI Just got a new computer and upon first turning it on my daughter accidentally hit the button on my power strip turning the computer off mid-installation. Now when I turn on my computer it looks as if windows is trying to start but goes to a message stating "Windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation." I then click "OK" and it just brings me back to the same message after re-starting. Could anyone please help me get this thing back on track?

You have to manually press the reset button on the case. Ive re-formatted with no luck. Even exiting bios does the same! View 4 Replies View RelatedI had been putting off updating to Vista SP2 but bit the bullet 2 days ago.After downloading the machine shut off never to restart.When I restart now it wont boot.I have done all the recovery tests and programs.I have tried a manual restore(all restore point were somehow lost) via the command prompts nothing seems to work. The startup Repair log says registry is corupt.I can see my files and obviously want to retreve them before I do a complete system restore.As I see it I have 2 choices. Buy a external harddrive,run unbuntu and hopefully copy files to the drive. Option 2 but a internal harddrive,buy a new OS,load it, connect my bad drive and see if I can copy the files that way. Computer is 2 years old (Dell) no Vista disk,downloaded the Vista recovery disk(didnt help) Vista home premium 32 bit.

I have to actually pull the plug on the computer to restart it because a message keeps coming up saying I have another instance of Windows mail running in the back ground. I THOUGHT the problem was solved when we un-installed and re-installed Norton but it worked for about a week and now I have the same problem all over again. I can open the mail ONCE and the when I exit and try to go back in. it says " Another instance of Windows mail is running in the background. I can't even go to Start/ re start. I have to unplig everything. Has anyone else had this happen?

I pick the Launch StartuP recovery, it shows System recovery Options window with nothing in it .... When I try to load the drivers it lets me to choose from 3 partions ... but there is no Partition C with the OS . When I run startup repair it says: The Partition table does not have a valid System Partition. repair action : Partition table repair ... girlfriend nearly killed me ... cause of "lost" music etc ...

View 9 Replies View RelatedEach time I restart Vista Home Premium, it logs me into a user account I don't use anymore. I then have to log off and then log in to the account I want to use. If I delete the unused account and then restart, Vista then tries to log me into the deleted account, giving me the error, "The user name or password is incorrect." I then have to "switch user" to a valid account at the startup screen. How can I delete this account? Or, how can I make it so my preferred account becomes "default" and remains the login account after a restart?

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy default LCD Resolution is 1680x1050 When I run Half life 2 or source any games which has a 1024x768 as my default resolution the game ran perfectly.,then I exited...the DEsktop res is still 1680x1050 BUT when i restarted my PC the resolution changes to 1024x768 when LOGON screen appeared (the screen resolution is from the game itself) it seems that vista is not changing it back when I exit the game (this is in the registry, I think) Drivers updated Bios updated TMM disabled Base video UNCHECKED (this is by default) System restore I've followed All the suggested options to fix the problem in all other forums including this one.. ALL HAD FAILED The only thing left is the registry....... thousand of people are experiencing this...specially those with laptops...mostly GAMERS No issues on XP sp2 32Bit only on Vista
