I just set up a Windows Mail account and realized that I entered the wrong Username. Can anyone tell me how to change my Windows Mail Username? This is the name that goes onto the emailI send out. I checked Help and all the other buttons and can't find an answer.

I have deleted the mail account and redone it multiple times with no progress.

Checked the settings in Tools / Accounts / Server Tab. Entered the user name / password as per the Server Tab but the box keeps on appeating again and I can't send email out using Windows mail. I have removed my e-mailaccounts and reset them. I have reinstalled Norton and nothing works. Everytime I want receive and/or send mail, Windows Mail asks for my username and password. Even when Norton wasn't installed Windows Mail didn't remember, so I don't think Norton is causing this problem.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI cant send emails because, WM wont accept my username and password. as i click send, it asks me for these. i type them in and the verification window disappears and comes back again. jus completely ignores my details so i press cancel and i dont even get an error message, how annoying? my server settings are correct, oh and i can recieve emails fine. i even change my outgoing settings to the same as my ingoing and it makes no difference.

I telephoned ISP and they have checked and say that they should work. Username and password is different than primary user. Upon re examination of the mail settings, the smtp port has reverted to 25 (set manually to 460 something) and the use ssl checkbox is unchecked. I have showed my friend how to re-set the settings so he is not losing much sleep over this one, but it annoys me.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if someone could help me. I can't figure out how to make my color scheme stay in any particular setting. IE. I use WMP classic and it (I think) is not compatible with Windows Aero color scheme, so it changes automatically from Aero to Basic, then back to Aero when WMPC is closed.
That is not the problem, my problem is that I would like to just put the scheme back to Window Vista Basic, thus avoiding the need to change back and forth all the time. Everytime I reboot the scheme comes back as Aero.
This seems so simple, just select desired scheme, apply then once I logout or reboot those settings should save.
When I run Windows Explorer, the Documents folder is open. More often than not, I want something within c:program files, so I have to scroll to that. Counting the click to close Documents, it takes four mouse clicks.Can I set it to open Program Files, and show all the subfolders beneath it? Perhaps a registry tweak or a freeware utility program?

I simply want to change the display names of the files to colors such as BLUE, GREY, etc., just like I can do on the MAC O/S for the past 5 years.

My problem is that I have a legal copy of goldmine 5.7 that I installedon this new laptop.In the installation there was a screen to type in my username and passord to access goldmine in the future....and I left them both blank.Now i cannot get into my goldmine program and when I uninstall it and reinstall it does not give me the opportunity to pick a new username and password. Vista has stored some default username.
My main mail client is my office XP system, I also receive mail in home. So I select the 'Leave mail on Server' in my home XP system and it work fine. But after I upgrade my home PC to Vista system (I export my mail account for XP outlook express then inport it to my Vista system.) then it have problem - when the mail that I received in home Vista system Windows Mail then i no longer can receive in office mail client. Does anyone know is it the bug of Vista Windows Mail?
