View 4 RepliesI have noticed that this topic has been posted more than once and I have read some of them. I have removed Norton Internet Security 2009. I have removed my e-mailaccounts and reset them. I have reinstalled Norton and nothing works. Everytime I want receive and/or send mail, Windows Mail asks for my username and password. Even when Norton wasn't installed Windows Mail didn't remember, so I don't think Norton is causing this problem.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got two emails, both gmail accounts. When I first set them up everything worked perfect. I know that I have the right port numbers as directed by gmail, I also know that I have my user name and password entered correctly. When I open my windows mail it will work just fine at first, but after having it open for a short time I get these error messages telling me that "The server has rejected your login. Please verify that your username and password are correct" . When it gives me the box to put the information in I know that I put it in correctly, but the same error pops up over and over. I'm sure it has to be something with the way it's working with IMAP or something because I never had this issue with outlook and my pop mail accounts.

What is going on and how can I resolve this issue?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy primary email account works fine. I have two secondary user names on my windows mail. They use to work but recently wont receive/send mail. I telephoned ISP and they have checked and say that they should work. Username and password is different than primary user. Have clicked accounts/tools and checked that username and password etc are the same as the server. They say there must be something wrong with settings or something on windows mail.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with Windows mail all of a sudden. I am running Vista, as well as Norton antivirus. I updated my Norton this morning and then went to check my e-mail. I was asked for my username and password (that doesn't usually happen), and then it would not accept my username and password. The error message that I receive says:'-ERR mailbox for [my e-mail address] is not available', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92. I went into Norton and changed incoming and outgoing mail from "secure" to ignored, and I restarted my computer.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set up Windows Mail and Outlook 2007 to use an email box in a new website. I have two email boxes with different passwords on the same site. The first account in Windows Mail worked... but the second, set up the same way, will not. I get repeated Windows Security dialog boxes with "verify user name and password" until I cancel the dialog which returns the following error:
Account: 'mail.mysite.org (1)', Server: 'mail.mysite.org', Protocol: POP3,
Server Response: '-ERR authorization failed', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92
I'm using Vista 64-bit which has always been exceedingly careful about what programs it will allow to run... but the places to adjust that are obscure. Is the problem in Vista-64 security setting? Turning off the Norton Internet security makes no difference. If I import the one account that works in Windows Mail into Outlook 2007 (and check that all of the settings are correct) it doesn't work in Outlook. The same endless Security dialog occurs.
It just happened now, after almost 2 years. When I open WM, it asks for my username and password, every time. Before I do a system restore, I 'd like to know if there is reason for that, and if there is another way to fix this annoyance.

Ive posted on like 5 forums and asked all my friends and no1 has a clue how to fix this or even how its posible so if ne1 has ne idea wat 2 do.

I just tried to open my Window Mail and got a message window that said: Windows Security: Please verify that both the user name and password are correct for your mail server. It then wants you to type your username and password into two blocks. It then has a check block that says "Remember My Credentials". Then OK or Cancel. This is the first time I have seen this when I open Windows Mail. Is this something new or is this some kind of virus/malware?

View 4 Replies View RelatedWindows Mail worked correctly for 1 year. I did not have the "password won't
save" problem at all.
McAfee Security Center was uninstalled and debris removal was performed
because I dislike McAfee (which came installed on the the computer.)
Avast Pro was installed because I like it.
Now, I have the Windows Mail "password won't save" problem. When I look at
the Account Properties, there's nothing in the password box. When I enter
the password and click Remember Password, check email, I get the popup
requesting username password. If I enter the info there, mail is received
and can be sent. Next time, it asks for username/pw again.
I have deleted the account, closed Windows Mail, recreated the account -
same problem.
