View 7 RepliesSuddenly I cannot open any links in emails. I get a message "Windows cannot find (http .. whatever the address is) make sure you typed the name correctly then try again. I can copy and paste the address and open it in explorer but not from email.
View 4 Replies View RelatedUnable to open my email message links. Everytime I click on the link I received an error message: Application not found. I can copy and paste the link to the Internet Explorer search window and open the link that way. But, that is a definite pain in the butt to do that.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that I can't open IE7 links from within WinMail anymore. I've looked here and elsewhere for a solution ('Windows cannot find 'http -/- html'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again'). From this and other events, I suspect this is a permissions issue.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWindows Vista includes a great little utility that allows users to finally make soft and hard file system links in the file system. This can be very useful from a software compatibility standpoint as well as a great way to organize your computer. Unlike a shortcut, a link is at the file system level and can be used to create an alias for a file or folder that is in a different location. For example, you can create a hard link (Directory junction) called c:win that points to c:windowssystem32. After the link is created, you can open up command prompt or explorer and browse to c:win and you will see the contents of c:windowssystem32. This is not a new technology, it has actually been a core Linux and Unix feature for as far as I can remember but it is nice to finally have it in Windows Vista....

View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter updating to IE8 through normal Windows Update, I can no longer open PDF attachments in Acrobat as I could before. Message states it cannot find the file. I can save the attachment and then open with Acrobat. I have removed the IE8 update and hence reverted to original IE7. The problem is hence resolved. My guess is IE8 has somehow changed the temp file location, and hence the file cannot be found. There must be a registry pointer change that caused this. I'll keep IE7 until the group can come up with a simple fix or recommendation.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have vista home premium and use Windows Mail. I have 3 users on my computer. One of the users can't open email attachments, any type. He can save attachments and open them from the folder, but can't just click and open. I have the same problem as the administrator occasionally. When it happens, I exit the email, re-open and it works fine. No error messages, just nothing happens when I click on the attachment. I have Internet Explorer 8, any chance that has something to do with it? I've downloaded

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have windows vista only 1 year old It updates on schedule and virus and etc scans everyday and I have never had any problem until last week of opening my attachments even ones I send to family of family pictures, I have scanned my picture folder and no problems but in my emails after the emails come in and I go to open attachment, (and yes I know the ones I open are safe to) they will not open it just tells me there is no file, even on ones I have previouly sent out, now if I exit windows mail and then go back in I can open the attachments, in researching someone somewhere said certain emails with certain graphics, example they mentioned Kim Komando newsletters, would prevent you opening your own attach, I found this is true even with weather updates, pollen updates for allergys, and pillsbury newsletters and etc, anything with grapics
