When receiving attachments with logo or photos (word or excel) I cannot open them. I get the above message. Then I get the message "file format may not be supported by any of the installed convertors or the file may be corrupt". If I instruct not to convert the doc opens but without photos or logos. If I forward same email and attachment to another computer running windows xp there is no problem opening the file.
View 4 RepliesI recently bought a new Vista, and saved a few pictures off of the internet, and saved them to my 'Downloads' folder. I went to preview them(in Windows Photo Gallery, Windows Live Photo Gallery, Paint, and Picture Manager), and they would not show up.
there were 27 files: 11 PNG, 2 GIF, and 14 JPEG. 3 JPEG and2 PNG will work,but the rest won't. I attempted to upload them to photobucket, with the same results.
I have just bought a new computer running Vista and it seems to remove photo attachments saying they are unsafe, but they are actually displayed in the email itself and let me save them from there. how to stop Windows mail from removing them.

I am using Vista Home Premium. My mail sending format is HTML and I have unchecked the "send pictures with messages" box in the set HTML settings.
I have Windows Vista Premium Home and Windows Mail. I was wondering if anybody can tell me how to arrange my photo attachments in an e-mail in such a way that the "before" photos are seen first and then the "after" photos next(alternatively). Like this:
1 Before Judy
1 After Judy
2 Before Lucy
2 After Lucy
3 Before Bianca
3 After Bianca... and so on.
It also doesn't help if I attach the photos in the specific order one by one. I am a make-up artist and whenever I attach the photos in a specific order, then it still comes up scrambled. Please tell me what to do to be able to arrange my e-mail attachments the way I want them to be arranged. My other question is this: I have a relatively new computer and the typing went well for the first few months, then suddenly typing became weird, (letters are either left out or repeated or the spacebar leaves too many spaces,..............
I have Vista Home Premium and my CD/DVD drive is a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-115D ATA Device. I received a CD of photos from my niece in India. It won't open in my computer, but the green progress bar slowly runs across the address bar (location bar?) as if searching for the contents of the CD but it never opens the files. I took it to my friend's computer and he could open it right away and view the photos. I experimented by copying the CD on to another blank CD and the copy works perfectly on my computer. More recently I tried to open a CD of a backup of Word files from another computer. Similar thing - it took minutes to open with the green progress bar slowly crossing the address bar, and finally it opened but I could not open individual Word files. I had to copy and paste them to my hard drive, where I could open them.

View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter updating to IE8 through normal Windows Update, I can no longer open PDF attachments in Acrobat as I could before. Message states it cannot find the file. I can save the attachment and then open with Acrobat. I have removed the IE8 update and hence reverted to original IE7. The problem is hence resolved. My guess is IE8 has somehow changed the temp file location, and hence the file cannot be found. There must be a registry pointer change that caused this. I'll keep IE7 until the group can come up with a simple fix or recommendation.

He can save attachments and open them from the folder, but can't just click and open. I have the same problem as the administrator occasionally. When it happens, I exit the email, re-open and it works fine. No error messages, just nothing happens when I click on the attachment. View 7 Replies View RelatedI have windows vista only 1 year old It updates on schedule and virus and etc scans everyday and I have never had any problem until last week of opening my attachments even ones I send to family of family pictures, I have scanned my picture folder and no problems but in my emails after the emails come in and I go to open attachment, (and yes I know the ones I open are safe to) they will not open it just tells me there is no file, even on ones I have previouly sent out, now if I exit windows mail and then go back in I can open the attachments, in researching someone somewhere said certain emails with certain graphics, example they mentioned Kim Komando newsletters, would prevent you opening your own attach, I found this is true even with weather updates, pollen updates for allergys, and pillsbury newsletters and etc, anything with grapics
