Blue Screen At The Installation On Vista 64 Bits

Mar 2, 2009

When I boot my computer with Vista 64 , I always get a blue screen with the
following error message :

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your
computer. If the screen appears again, follow these steps :

Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driveris identified in
the Stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for
drivers updates. Try changing video adapters.

Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updated. Disable BIOS memory
options such as catching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to
remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select
Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Thecnical informations:
*** STOP: 0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFFA600117F603,
0xFFFFFA6002D84ED8, 0xFFFFFA6002D848B0)
*** fltmgr.sys - Adress FFFFFA600117F603 base at FFFFFA600115C000.
DateStamp 47919082

Same thing with Windows 7. But, with Vista 32 bits DVD, no problem. I
suspect my DVD burner to be the problem, since it make the hell of a noise
at the startup with Vista 64 an Windows 7 DVD's.
Thank you.

Blue Screen After New Mobo Installation

Jan 8, 2010

I installed this new motherboard with all my pre-existing other components and it boots fine and it can run but i keep getting a blue screen kind of often. I've heard this board can blue screen if the voltages to ram exceed 2.0 V but mine are set at 1.9 V so that should be fine. I completely formatted my drive and did a clean install of Windows Vista 32bit on a single partition. The error i'm getting is: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. ***STOP 0x00000024 (0x001904AB, 0x93c23B90, 0x93c2388C, 0x8994D9c4) ***Ntfs.sys - Address 8994D9C4 base at 898A7000, Datestamp 4549aceb I have seen this one a few times now. I'm confused as to what i should try next. I could get some hard disk drive scanners to look for problems and run a chkdsk or format and reinstall and reset my CMOS, again, but I feel like something else is wrong.

However, I do believe it has something to do with the HDD since its been dealing with information slower and tends to crash when i'm dealing with partitions, restarting after installing updates or programs or otherwise failing to do so or freezing (not responding) during install. I've tried safe mode but it does it there too. My HDD makes the same noise as it always did and the HDD light blinks normally. I really hope i can fix this problem without having to go out and buy a new HDD but this problem just started after I installed my new mobo so I would like to seek some outside advice for my problem.

Installation Computed 25% Crashed Blue Screen

Sep 5, 2008

I clicked on a link to a program and as usual vista wanted me to approve it so I did, my antivirus program went off with a high threat and I thought it stopped anything from happening however after I removed the bad stuff with the AV program I noticed my computer would crash to blue screen every few minutes or so.So I quickly became frustrated I tried repeatedly to used the vista cd to restore it but it would crash in the middle of the process. Next I checked the Dell support link on my desk top and it scanned the computer for any hardware or compatability issues and said I needed to install bios update. So I downloaded it ,all was ok at this point , when I began installation it completed about 25% then crashed to blue screen again . Now I am banging my head on desk... well I try to restart computer and I now have nothing at all ,no monitor stays blank,no keyboard, no mouse CD drive runs and flashes and the little #4 light on front of tower stays lit now but no HDD activity .

So I remove my HDD and install it in my sons E521 , we have same computers, and it went back to crashing to bluescreen. So now I experiment with boot sequience and boot from cd first then I just had windows vista install cd in drive and restarted computer, and that seemed to take care of that problem , however when I put my HDD back in "my" computer stall nothing ? ? ? Now does anyone out there have any ideas ? I am thinking of trying to burn an install for bios on a cd and trying that to see if it will boot up but I am kinda scared of bios anything now.

Blue Screen When Load Vista Install

Mar 23, 2008

I've been getting the same blue screen as early as attempting to load the Vista install PE environment from the DVD. Would like some specifics as to what that is pointing to. Initially, I had a bad stick of RAM. I have since RMA'd the RAM, and tested the new RAM. I'm not showing any errors with the new RAM. It does it irregardless of 64 bit mode, or 128 bit mode. It does it, when I add a second stick of RAM however.

Analyze Blue Screen: No Consistency Of Circumstances, A Blue Screen Will Appear!

Jun 30, 2008

Business with SP1
Sony laptop, fast core2duo, 4GB
Defender+Avast!
Working beautifully for many months, and then a few
weeks ago this began happening:

Perhaps 2-3 times a week, and with no consistency of circumstances, a blue screen will appear. It might happen while working or when returning from hibernate. There's a countdown as memory is stored, and then a freeze. The only way to recover is to do a hard OFF (5 seconds on the power switch) and restart. When it first happened, I had not installed or changed anything, so I was comfortable doing a restore. It happened again.

It's confusing because the stated cause is inconsistent. I've checked to ensure that all drivers are updated and nothing that's contraVistarian is installed. What analytical steps can I undertake to discover what's causing this, and then to help me make the necessary changes?

Different Blue Screens:Look Like Blue Screen Appears When To Much Action Is Going On Like Opening Of IE And Outlook

Feb 13, 2009

Problem Blue Screen. No new hardware or software installed recently, last Windows vista update was on 01/15. When I start first, PC passes user registration (boots fine) and
does the normal stuff like loading software and starting the wireless internet connection via Netgear, opening some windows/programms I will close. All normal, but than comes a Blue Screen and very fast shut down of system with restart. Hardly can read the message...Look like Blue Screen appears when to much action is going on like opening of IE and Outlook... or open to many windows... or some bad programm/hardware is booting. But when I restart, restart gives a different blue screens and trouble is much earlier or directly after registering to the system.

But all starting or booting turn slower, real slow now. Start in --safe mode with net working-- the PC works, but the PC can't handle heavy workloads, is really slow in action. I cannot open --My pictures-- to see all picture files displyed on screen (2.7 GB) (the process trying to access the files in safe mode is real slow) and when I attempt to transfer the file to a USB stick, the computer is stopping in middle of action (after 50% transfer)..........

Well now I tried it again and still, with all the patches and upgrades...hot fixes and such...still blue screen of death after BSOD.... always it comes back to the MCP and I am getting tired of messing with this, when windows said "Your machine is compatible for Vista!".

Screen Freeze Or Blue Screen Needing Reboot

Feb 1, 2009

I've had voltage issues causing my computer to freeze or reboot during games and dvds. Fixed that and the computer was fine after memtest showing no problems. That was late Dec.

A few days ago, the computer would go to a blue screen saying it's dumping physical memory and then automatically reboots. Thinking my harddisk might be collapsing on me (I have a seagate barracuda 7200.11 500Gb HD with the SD15 firmware, the infamous crash friendly HD), I flash the HD with the SD1A firmware from seagate, then it was fine. 2days later, Catalyst started to cause problems by not responding, so I formated the drive and reinstalled vista ultimate, along with Catalyst, drivers from Mobo manufacturer ASUS, plus a couple of other softwares. That was yesterday, and now I'm getting the same blue screen back, or the computer just freezes.

X64 Random Blue Screen At Log In Screen, But Before Log In

Feb 5, 2010

I've had pretty good luck with vista so far but every so often it will blue screen on me and I cant figure out why. The scenario is

1. System startup from power off condition
2. System boots to login screen
3. Blue screen referencing processor timing or something

I have not overclocked or anything everything is vanilla. I would also note that I run hardware diagnostics utilities and it seems fine. Also, I never get the message about abnormal system termination like ususal. How can I get a clue as to what is going on here. So far it seems like the error is bogus, I can log in and the machine will run for days with no problem.

Crashing And Blue Screen

May 23, 2008

It was a nice day (September 2007) and i opened my Windows Vista 32bit Home Premium Laptop, my desktop appeared just fine and while Nod32 was trying to load, my wagtail mouse stopped moving its tail, few seconds later, the "famous" BSOD appeared!

I didnt care really since i could format, ok then i formated. 5 months after the format i was having some crashes, e.g i clicked on Photoshop and the taskbar froze then the same happened to the start button and then the whole desktop! I restarted but i couldn't use Photoshop anymore. Few days later i dragged and dropped something in the recycle
bin and guess what? Yea thats right! I got a Blue Screen! I was freaked out and mad! So then i formated again. Now 2 months later, May of 2008 i opened my laptop and Nod warned me that the dll files of Adobe Flash, Nero and PowerDVD were viruses and that the svchost.exe tried to open them. I ignored them since i knew that the svchost.exe goes crazy sometimes. Then it stopped doing it but i started having crashes like the one i said before the second BSOD. Today i received 4 more crashes but the last one was deadly! I mean like, i only clicked on windows live messenger and vista made that BEEP sound, then everything was frozen, even the mouse!

Blue Screen With KB915597

I understand that this is just the Windows Defender definition update, and that they recycle the KB#, and I found some posts on this forum from a few months back regarding the issue...I never had it before, but this time, it's got me.

I did a System Restore to before the update, then changed Windows Update settings to "notify but don't download or install." My question is this: Will it ever be safe for me to re-enable Windows Update, or will I always have to do it manually from now on because of this one incompatible update?
