Attaching A Jpeg An Email
Mar 4, 2009I am trying to attach a jpeg to an email but it also shows in the body of the email as the image. I don't want the image to show in the body of the email. What am I doing wrong.

Jul 29, 2009I rec'd an email with an attachment "jpeg" and WM won't open it. I tried this: Clicked on File, Save Attachments, Left it in documents. I found it in documents and it opened there but how do I get it to go to WM??????

May 19, 2008I just bought a new Vista laptop, and would like to connect it to my
sort-of-operating XP network. I have named the network correctly, and
entered the proper workgroup name, and now when I show the Network, the Vista
machine shows itself and the router. The problem is, the router is NOT the
Internet gateway; my old XP laptop is, and neither the old laptop nor the
desktop which have IP addresses below that of the router appear in the
Network display, and I cannot access the Internet because the Vista machine
can't see the gateway, even when I force the proper IP addresses into the
appropriate locations in the Vista machine. I also can't use the printers
which are on the system.
Windows Mail Is Not Attaching Pictures
May 15, 2010I insert pictures, not attach them, in mails. When I look at the message the pictures are in the body of my e-mail, but when recipients open the mail there is a red cross in a white square instead of the picture and the picture is attached. There is a difference in the html code when I compare the one in the mail I send and the one from the received mail, Windows Mail "corrects" or "inserts" things in the code the moment I send it (that's what I can understand).

Normally when pc wakes after sleep everything comes to life and the Seagate works fine BUT not since attaching Bamboo How do I sort this out please? I know it's the Bamboo because I have tried with it unplugged.

Mar 23, 2008None of my jpeg images show up in any folders, no thumbnails of them, but the bitmat ones show. I have already went in and made sure the show icons instead on thumnails was not checked, I've tried system restore, I've deleted the iconcache folder so it would be rebuilt, I've changed the monitor from 32 to 16 and back to 32 again. And restarted everytime I tried something new. I work in photoshop a lot, so it makes it really hard when you go to open a picture and there's no thumbnails in the folder, any folder. All of my pictures are now just plain ol icons. I've tried everything that I know to do. This is delaying me in a lot of work.

Mar 23, 2008I have a Canon S3IS digital camera which can take movies. The movies show an .AVI extension and (I think) use an MJPEG codec. After transferring the movie files to my (Vista) hard drive, their behavior is erratic:
- The movie files *will not* play in Windows Media Player. The WMP error message is: "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file". Clicking on Web Help reveals: "You've encountered error message C00D11B1 while using Windows Media Player."
- The movie files *will not* play in Windows Media Center; WMC says "Cannot Play Video - Windows Media Center cannot open the file".
- If I import the files into Windows Movie Maker, WMM appears to play them, but the preview screen is black............
How To (re)associate JPEG Files With Explorer`s Preview?
Aug 22, 2008I installed a program that I didn't like. I uninstalled it, but it didn't remove it's own association with JPG and other image files. I want to reassociate them with Explorer's Preview (which is still available on the rightclick context shell menu, but unavailable on any "open with" or "default programs" dialog).
Is there any way to do this? Maybe a explorer.exe command line parameter?
Unsupported JPEG File In Windows Photo Gallery
Jan 23, 2009I've just come back from holidays and uploaded photos from my camera onto my pc. I usually just copy the files from the camera to my pc but I accidentally hit "cut and paste" instead of "copy". Soon after my pc froze and had to be restarted. I opened up the pictures folder on my pc and 63 out of 113 (the first 40 or so can be viewed and so can a few at the end - which confuses me even more) can't be opened!
I've tried opening them in Windows Photo Gallery only to get the message that the file cannot be supported or I don't have the latest update etc, however it still recognises that the files are JPEGs!?? It also recognises when the photos were taken etc, I just can't view the photo! I've tried opening it with several other programs to no avail.

Every time i delete and block the emails address i get another from another email address generated. Its obviously spyware, I have run AVG and spybot and it hasnt fixed the problem. But if I do a select all the blank space turns blue as if something is there. When I get mail from ex. USAJobs, the entire body of the email is blank. Some others the text directing me to "having trouble viewing this email click here" and then it takes me to their website. I have the block pics box unchecked and I am running vista with PCTools Spyware doctor. Also email from friends and family the pictures show up with no problems. No Email: Can Not Get Email To Work Using Any Client
Mar 23, 2008I now have a brand new HP m9100z and can not get email to work at all. My other machine is an HP s3123w aka "slimline". Both run windows vista home premium. On the slimline, email works just fine. On the new machine, nadda. Zip, zero. Can not get email to work using any client I have.
Thunderbird, windows mail, forte agent, all say "login failed". Even though both machines are setup exactly the same. The difference in the two machines is that the new one now has a wifi card and dual ntsc tuners. My domain works fine through browsers so I can get email through the website. Just can't do it on this machine. So what tricks can I try to get email to work?
