I am with Virgin Media, but suddenly from 29th April I haven't received any emails to my account, my son's account is fine and I sent a test email from his account to mine and nothing, so I tried the other way round I sent him a test email and he received that, so I know I can send emails but just not receive.

Emails will come through, but every time she tries to send one it comes up with a big box saying "some errors occured while processing the requested task" and underneath in the details section it says this:

View 9 Replies View RelatedI do not know if there is any cause and effect relationship between these two but since Windows installed some 10 updates two days ago,Windows Mail is unable to get down from the e-mail server of my I S P even a few incoming messages and that too even if I keep the Windows Mail open for one hour. I can of course connect to the WebMail facility of my I S P and see those messages but they will not get into my InBox of WinMail. Strangely, whereas WinMail says it is downloading those 2 or 3 messages (each of size 2K to 5K) for an hour, it is able to download Newsgroup or Microsoft Community messages (some of them 10 times longer) in a jiffy. So the problem is not with volume of downloading. If I close WinMail after waiting for a long time and try to reopen it, Vista says "another instance of WinMail is downloading messages". I have no choice left then but to do Control-Alt-Delete and end the Process. I tried to ask Vista to restore my system to the day before the Windows updates were installed but that Restore failed, according to Vista. While doing this, at the end of configuring updates, I recieved a black screen and "0xc0190036" with some message like keyboard. after it. It never changed from this screen. From different websites online, I read my best bet is to reinstall Vista. I have an Acer computer, and I am not positive that I recieved a back-up CD with my purchase. If I did, it must be lost, as my house is organized like an OCD freak would do. I was able to find XP OS disk, and quickly put that in, only to soon realize this was a Dell OS. This basically was a whole bunch of fail, and now it seems my only option is to boot "CD-ROM" with the Vista CD which I do not have in there...
Since some days I are unable to ad attachments to new e-mails. Windows Mail comes to a break down and close imetiately.

This infuriating situation occurred exactly one month after receiving the new computer with Vista Home Premium already installed. My old computer is connected as a small network. I have telephoned Optus (Australia) 5 times but they insist it is a Windows Mail corruption problem. No one was able to tell me what this error message actually means. Another issue that may also be connected was when I downloaded a trial version of a home video editing programme. It cut the 30 day trial by about 8 days, finishing on June 1st. June the first I thought? Why June 1st? I asked on the forum but they could not explain why.
I use windows mail. For three days now I have been unable to send emails to anyone who has an email address with the @aol.com extension. Every one of them comes back with a failed delivery notification. These are addresses that I send to almost daily. These aol users are able to send me emails but I am unable to even reply to them.

I think the problem may lie in changimg my internet provider which is Melita. so should my incoming read lineone and the outgoing be the melita network which I think is onvol. My computer skills are basic so easy answers please. I have to use tiscali all the time but it takes longer to read my mail because of all the adverst etc downloaded along with the mail. I unchecked phishing. Mail came in. Second try, same POP3 error. Phishing remains unchecked. When I click send/recieve progress box comes up,says recieving, no arrow movement, 1 minute later error comes up.
