Startup Glitch - Spdwnw32.exe Not Found On Start Up
Jun 16, 2005
Right off the bat, I know I probably (ok I did) downloaded something I should not have in the past and am paying for it bigtime now it seems.Sometimes when I boot up my computer, not everytime, I get an error box stating that xp could not load up a file from the windows/system32/ directory known as spdwnw32.exe . I have know idea what this file is or was and have no clue as to how to get the error to stop
I have XP SP3, and have recently discovered that when Restarting the system, after logging on, Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird automatically run. There are no shortcuts for them in the Start Up Folder, and they do not start automatically after a complete shut down/fresh start -- only after a restart. After they're up and running, everything works normal.
I recently began having problems when restarting- 90% of desktop icons were gone, replaced with generic program icons then, after a few seconds, windows explorerwould crash. When starting in safe mode the icons reappeared , so I used msconfig /selective startup to quickly determine the cause. It's in a file called *[annie] with the item *'Frame Rate=666666' the apparent culprit.
I receive the following error on startup of my laptop (XP SP3 operating system) Error loading C:Windowswftadfi16_080707a.dll The specified module could not be found Is this a major problem? How can it be fixed?
When I start my computer I get a blue screen that says, Is delete program not found - skipping Autocheck. Not sure if it is a I or 7 in front of the delete but either way after that the system starts normally. How do I get rid of that blue screen warning?
The system then starts and i can see no noticeable difference. At first i ignored it and put off looking into it. It is too late to do a system restore. I have had this issue for probably almost 6 months.
I did a search and my problem seems to be a bit different than others issues people have had with this file. When i go to the system32 folder the file is there
This just started tonite. "The application has failed st start because netpwldryv.dll was not found. Reinstall may fix... I don't want to reinstall, lose to much, what else can I do?
Turned on the computer and got an error that said, Failed to start because UMPNPMGR.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. Two problems I do not know what that file is, and the computer will not get past the error, so even if I did find the file how would I install it on the computer? My computer knowledge is only average so I am not knowledgeable enough to play with the registry. I tried to boot up in Safe Mode also, however it would not get past the error.
Wont open for video and how come tell me you can explain me bout this application has failed to start because msvcp71.dll was not found. re-installing the applacation may fix this problem?
I've got serious problems. I've just started getting the error message...
This application has failed to start because oledlg.dll was not found. Re-installing the application my fix this problem
when I try to load certain programs (ZipGenius, ExplorerXP & GOM player to mention just 3). I re-installed all 3 but I still get the problem. I also get the same error when try to run a lot of my system security/registry fix programs
I started getting an error message "Application has failed to start because Framedyn.dll was not found". I found a place on the internet where I could download DLL files. I downloaded the file and followed there instructions which were. Save file to the directory that is requesting the file. If that doesn't work save it to your system directory C:windowssystem32. I saved it in the system directory wasn't sure exactly which directory was requesting it. Reboot the computer. If the problem still occurs, try the following: Press start then Run, Type CDM and press enter, Type regsvr32 framedyn.dll and press enter. I did this and ow I am getting an error message
I am getting an error message when I first start up my computer. It reads "this application failed to start becasue MSCTF.dll not found" or something like that. also, I recently bought a new wireless printer and when I try to install it, my computer won't allow it---giving some sort of error message that the same MSCTF.dll not found. am i missing some drivers??
whenever is start-up windows iam getting this error..i installed xp twice but no use..let me know how to overcome it..the error is below something like this but not accurate. "system32/tools/del folders.exe not found
The other day my PC started shutting down and restarting for no apparent reason. I have added no new programs or hardware. Then a couple of hours later it started behaving normally even though I did nothing. Now each time I turn it on, it starts normally except that I get the following message: "CC App.exe -- Unable to locate component This application has failed to start because MAPI32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." What or where is this component and how do I re-install it?
light on my recent weird Windows behavior. I'm not getting my sub menus when I rollover my program folders (Start menu>all programs>desired folder). I can see a faint outline of the pop-up that should be there, but nothing is showing.
I have encountered an odd problem in Win XP Pro SP2. When I open 'Control Panel'- 'Add or Remove Programmes', there is a massive gap in the programme list. I have attached a pdf showing the screen at the start & end of this gap, if you look at the scroll bar it will give you some idea of the size of it. It takes about 30 'page down' keystrokes to get from the start to end of the gap. All of my programmes appear to be listed ok & this is not actually causing me any difficulties but I am curious to find out what is causing it
here's one that has me stumped. My right click option on one particular thing doesn't work. That particular thing being when I choose All Programs and then try to access a program by right clicking on it nothing happens. How I found this was I was going to "Sort by name" and get the programs in alphabetical order but I can't. In every other aspect the right click option works fine.
i have a 2 year old pc that i bought with windows xp media center edition 2005 pre-installed and activated. only a week ago, it started asking me to activate windows before i could log in every time i restarted my computer. i would click ok and then it would ask me to activate. i would activate over internet and when it did, it say i have an incorrect product key. i don't know why this happens because the computer was pre-activated and i didn't do anything to my computer when it started happening except played some games. something even more wierd is that 1 in 5 times it boots up perfectly normal without asking me to activate. it is really annoying to have to try restarting my pc until it randomly lets me log in.
I am getting a ghost of yellow pixels/blocks when i get to the desktop of my new build pc........when i drag around a window it gets worse. when i minimize the window and open it again its gone...but dragging it round my desktop produces them again....is this a driver issue?..or xp? spec is Intel e5200 @2.5 ghz 2GB ocz platinum ddr2 6400 power color 4830 512mb gfx xp with sp3 and all updates gaming has been fine and good frame rates so far, i have up to date drivers and no other problems...its just this desktop thing..
this never use to happen before, but about 4 months ago, my computer would get these weird yellow bars that would pop up randomly whenever i would scroll down a window.like this.it wouldn't go away after a system restore, and even after a complete reformat it came back in about a month or two.also, i know it's not a monitor problem, because i tried switching out monitors
When I shut my computer down and restart I get errors in outlook express. The pop3 account changes itself to a number starting with 12. When I change it back to pop3.woosh(9etc) it all works normally. But next time I start up its back to the weird number.
Have a Dell Trinitron, with windows xp. Some time ago, after an anti-virus program ran, I could no longer access several icons such as Internet Explorer, Opera, CC cleaner and others. When I click these icons, the message given is "The file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel." Could someone please tell me how to do this? Also, when I restart the computer, a message comes up saying "Windows cannot find file "1"." I think the anti-virus program removed some virus, and a line or two of programming.
Sometimes when the computer has been running for a while, and especially when I am running a program which switches the screen resolution (so it would seem), the screen will suddenly go blank. Not just black blank either - the colour varies from a sludgy green to a sludgy red, but I've also seen white and black variations of the problem. I've also noticed that just before the login screen appears when I boot into XP, the screen goes to the sludgy red colour for about a second before it seems to recover. The computer does not freeze or become unresponsive - I can still shut down or restart manually using keyboard hotkeys - I just can't see anything other than a single screen of colour.
I have no clue what happened, but I noticed a few weeks ago after a failed Ubuntu install (installer froze while resizing my partition, but I fixed that) that my arrows, checkboxes, and whatnot looked weird. I didn't realize the extent of the damage until I booted into safe mode to defrag my external USB harddrive today. With no visual style, this is what everything looks like (glitches circled in red):a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/peesticks/1604072412/" title="Photo Sharing">I am running XP Pro SP2 with all my updates. Anyone have any ideas? While the glitch does seem to just be visual, it is quite annoying; it sometimes strips the visual style randomly from a program or dialog box.
I keep having a glitch in windows media player, where the texture seems to be incorrect or somthing... I have no idea what is causing it or what started it in the first place...anyone have any ideas on a way to fix it?...I've tried reinstalling windows media player 10...but it doesn't fix it
I have multiple partitions on my HD so that I can have things like the OS and the page file on separate partitions for ease of defrag etc. (OK, haven't done this before and am not sure how smart it was after all)Anyway, I decided to move "My Documents" folder from the C drive to a much larger partition to save fragmentation on C. No big deal, it's easy to do.But here's the kicker... once I'd created a My Documents folder in the larger partition, I decided to click on it and move it to the top of the list of folders, using the My Computer screen.
Why does ieexplorer.exe start on startup? It isnt on the startup list in msconfig. Could some program be causing it? Recent programs I have installed include Netgear wireless card software, Everest, Firefox 2 and IE7. Could anyone shed some light on this? It is using up 20,000K of my vitual memory so I want it to stop.
Mates amd64 overheated the other day because he was doing some hard core 3d generation overnight with it, non stop. Its just got the new fan to keep it cool, but when it restarts it now gets to the desktop, and then stops, shows no icons or anything. so i diagnosed it was explorer because of this. I do ctrl alt del andtell it to start a new process called 'explorer.exe' and I get this message:This file does not have a program accossiation for performing this action/ Create an accossiation in the folder option pontrol panel.
I read the advice to start in safe mode to delete files that gave the errror message cannot delet file - source file not found. They wouldn't delete in Safe Mode either. I am trying to delete mp3 from my c drive because I have an external disk where I have my music library. I can delete them one at a time without getting the error message but not a bunch of them. Some of them I have been able to delete in a bunch.
I have decided to go with Windows Live Mail, so do not need Outlook Express any more. Question: Can Outlook Express be uninstalled or do I just leave it where it is in All Programs. I know it is interrogated software with Windows XPSP2, so I guess I just leave it be. I had a glitch in the signature area of Outlook Express and when I installed Windows Live Mail, the glitch came over with the importing of everything from Outlook Express....darn it. To describe the glitch.....when I go to attach a signature saved in Windows Live Mail a message appears on the desktop saying WLM has to close as there is a problem with the software. The main reason I decided to install Windows Live Mail was to rid myself of this particular glitch in Outlook Express, but unfortunately the glitch was imported along with all the messages, folders, signatures and options chosen from Outlook Express.
