Administrative Name And Password It Tells Me Cannot Log Me In
Jul 11, 2005had to install xp home over xp pro. all the files and user folders that were there before i did this are still intact,but.............. when i push control alt delete to bring up the administrator that works but when i go to type the administrative name and password it tells me cannot log me in. is there like a default password(did not have to type one in when i installed xp home,just a name and company)or some way to find out what it is

I had to reboot, however it turns out the account I was using is on the remote domain, so I cannot log in. I don't have the administrator password, and would like to somehow set the domain back to what it was earlier so I can log in again. How would I go about doing this?

Apr 24, 2008Today when I tried to reboot a Windows 2000 Server box it proceeds through the startup process VERY slowly and when it finally gets to the login box and I enter the administrative username and password that has always worked in the past, I get the following error:userinit.exe - Application Error The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application.When I click OK the desktop will not come up and the server is useless. I have seen some other information about this error, but most of them assume that the computer is accessible. I have not been able to get to a desktop normally or through any safe mode options.

Jun 7, 2007It looks I lost my booklet with the instalation code for my computer system. I bought my HP Pavilion a1012x 2 years ago. I created emergency, recovery dvd as instructed at that time. It looks I missplaced the code for the installation of it(can't find it anywhere). I wanted to clean my hard disc due to the fact that my comp has become very slow. I think reinstallation of the system would be the best solution as I tried for virus search, registry reparation, creating new recovery points, removing some programs but all without result. Is there any chance and way to recover my installation code from my computer now in order to reinstall my operating system from my emergency dvd? Aug 21, 2006I recently purchased a Texas Instrument TI- 84 Plus Silver Edition Graphic Calculator and when I tried to load the accompanying TI CONNECT software, my computer would only allow part of it to load. Actually the program loads it is when the program goes to "setup" that I receive an error message telling me that I am not an admistrator; therefore, cannot complete the setup. When all is send and done, there are some functions the calculator will perform but the major functions will not like loading anything to and from the computer to the calculator. When I use the Screen Capture function it will do so, indicating that the two are communciating. Other processes will not function however.

Apr 12, 2008I have two pc's and they are nearly identical. Mine just had major issues and I want to retrieve the data on the system before I try either a fresh install on that HDD, or perhaps get a new HDD and swap that instead of my current one.I don't know if it's my HDD that failed, but after a major episode, and doing a repair, it keeps locking up on the checks and when bypassing that, it still locks up when I do get to log in. I tried to system restore, but apparently I don't have a restore point to do this, it just points to today. So, I've read that I can put the HDD from pc #1 (which is having the issues) into pc #2, which is working just fine) and transfer pics, docs, fav places, etc, that I want to save.I have no idea how this works. I've read about slaving and jumpers and such and this is all greek to me. I'm a reasonable beginner insofar as I know enough to really get myself in trouble, so I could REALLY use a detailed step by step description of what I should do. I'd also like to do some kind of diagnostic on the HDD from the pc that is exhibiting the problem to see if I do indeed need to get a new one.
