Multi Clicking Mouse: Mouse Clicking Many Times By Itself?
Jun 1, 2008
using windows xp media edition. when I click on things on my screen my computor sometimes works ok but sometimes doulbe clicks or triple clicks and sometimes clicks up to five times by itself I don't understand why this happens. Is it possible I have some type of virus that is causing this multi-clicking of the mouse when I only click once. I did a full system scan with Norton and nothing is found.
I have been having some major issues with my mouse recently - anytime I so much as move my mouse (clicking does nothing) My CPU usage for Explorer jumps up, immediatly to 50% and if I make any slightly erratic movements, up to 99% It causes major issues in quite a few games, as well as totally screwing up any multitasking I wish to do
was wondering what all i need to look for as far as cleaning out my system......not sure what to keep or what to delete problems are lapse in time from clicking mouse like watching a surv. camera or weather camera. lots of page can not be displayed and slow loading pages i have windows xp and have cebridge broadband.
how to stop double clicking on every icon and that'll probably mess you up sometimes. Well you think that you've clicked on it by opening it and you still waiting like an idiot sitting at the computer waiting for something to happen. Here's a solution for you: Click on the START MENU > CONTROL PANEL > NOTE: If you're in the new Windows XP mode in Control Panel - Click on the Appearance and Themes icon - If you have in the Classic mode then just simply click on the - FOLDER OPTIONS> Now you see the Click items as follows - go down to the little of Single Click to open an item - and if you want to you can click on one of Underline..... tools --doesn't do much though!
mouse stops moving and when I click a small circle appears --- Multiple clicks will usually restore the arrow -- Sometimes moving the arrow starts to move a frame which I don't want to happen.--Zone Alarm usually shows incoming and outgoing colors but will freeze and only show the ZA in lower right blue area
When I double click using the left mouse button the file does not open. Instead the seach screen comes up. This has just started happing lately. How could I remedy this situation.
I got a new computer and I have been having problems with my mouse. I have a simple optical wired mouse. During random times, my mouse click freezes, although my mouse can move and I can use the key board at this time, I cannot click or focus anything. To fix the problem I can control alt delete and exit the Task Manager, this fixes the problem.
I've just recently purchased a system within a week only to find that my wired optical mouse has stopped working correctly. It sporadically moves from place to place and at times is completely unresponsive. The weird thing is that every once in a while, the power on the mouse completely turns off (no light coming from it). I am certain the USB mouse works as it has been tested in another computer.
Currently I have been this problem once this in a while. Whenever I one click, it does what double clicking do. It doesn't happen always, but it happens once in a while. Somebody told me its a bug in Windows where you clicked only once, but Windows think you have double clicked.
I have never realised my current winXP has problems opening .bat file. When I click on such file, all it shows was a new window (something that look like DOS window) but as soon as it opens, it closes fast too. In effect, nothing is being run or activated (if that the correct words to use). I have downloaded some programs that required .bat file and because of this I can't run them. Is there anything wrong with my system? It is currently Windows Xp home edition version 2002, SP2.
When I click on a button I get a clicking sound which is OK when changing a page etc, but the clicking sound also clicks every 40 sec's or so, and is quite annoying, dose anybody know why it dose this, and can it be stopped.I diden't notice it when I had ME but now I have XP Pro it is very loud.
Okay, everytime i play a C.D. or mp3's there's a glitch or a clicking noise every 10 secs or so and its a new soundcard. I tried reistalling the soundcard and the clicks is still there.
I will click on a desktop icon and nothing happens. Well, the hour glass comes up but thats it, nothing else happens. I can click on several icons and the exact thing happens each time (nothing). Control-alt-del will not work either. After letting the computer idle for about 5 minutes I will click on anything and then every single icon that I clicked on earlier will all pop up at once.
I have Windows XP, home edition. For some time now I have not been able to open files with the left double click. That highlights the title in blue allowing me to change the name. I have to open the file with right click and going to open. I have no idea how this changed and I have no idea how to change it back.
I have a Toshiba satellite and it has windows xp home edition. It has been making continuous clicking noises. What do I do,download or do I need to go to a shop?
so i dunno what i horked one day...but for the past year when i double click a folder ( i.e My Documents or files contained within ) i get the search box instead of the folder opening right up. In order for me to open a folder, i need to right-click and 'open any way for me to tweak this back into some sort of normalcy?
Every time I open I.E. 6 and click on the ADDRESS bar "down arrow" it locks up (I.E. is not responding).I can't type in an URL and hit GO either. In effect I.E. 6 is no longer usable. If I allow it to contact MS there is NEVER a solution! There are no viruses or browser hijackers on this PC and I run Spybot and Ad-Aware weekly.I.E. 6 is useless at this time.
I'm running Windows XP Media Center. For the third or fourth time, left-clicking on a folder twice, I think instead of opening it, deletes it altogether. Impossible to find it after through search, also impossible to recover contents. My question: is it a feature I can disable? How?
Something strange is happining with my computer. Certain things don't work, here's a few:1.If I Right click and select "properties" on "My computer"... it does nothing.2.Most icons in "Control Panel" don't open anything (add remove programs... sound... etc...)3.Double clicking a file without an extention does nothing (used to pop up a "which program to open with" window.) What could be the problem
Been having some rather strange issues with right-clicking. If I right click any executable file, my explorer.exe is killed (statusbar goes away, then appears again as explorer is reloaded) and started up again. I've been trying to figure out what could be causing it, but it's so hard to even search for a solution.
I am running XP Home. When I go to windows explorer every thing works OK with the exception of when I click on the history folder. Then I get an error message asking if I want to send the error to Microsoft. I have tried to click send and the whole PC freezes until I hit control-alt-delete and hit end task. I have run anti virus and spyware with no negative results.
Every time, when I click on an icon (For programs) on the desktop, it does not respond at any way- not even right clicking and press open. To just open the icons - I have to press as much as possible until it opens.
I'm running XP Pro Edition and when I double click on a ZIP file it does nothing (it used to though). I've tried associating ZIP files with WinZip and PicoZip and still the same problem.I am able to open WinZip or PicoZip and then open ZIP files from the program.
whenever I try to double click a file, Ie. a .txt or a small .jpg from explorer it takes aprrox 1 minute to open the file, it's certainly not the capability of the machine as it has just started occuring, and all my other programs are working fine.
i recently reformatted and got all my stuff back, but now i cant open up my pictures by double clicking on them. i can open them by going rightclick>open with, but thats just annoying.
Can anyone tell me how to change my setting for clicking to open a folder for my home computer. When I dbl click with left mouse button It goes to the search screen. I have to right click and choose "open". On my computer at work when I left click a folder it will open and right click a folder the "open option is on top of the list and on my home computer the "search " option is on top.
Is there a shortcut for minimizing windows? I am finding it annoying to have to go to the mouse each time, and I don't like alt-tabbing with so many open windows.
