Jul 21, 2008I booted my computer the other day and got this message: THE SYSTEM HAS REACHED THE MAXIMUM SIZE ALLOWED FOR THE SYSTEM PART OF THE REGISTRY. ADDITIONAL STORAGE REQUESTS WILL BE IGNORED. Then when I tried to do anything on my desktop, nothing responded. So I re-booted and there was no error message this time, and everything worked fine. BUT...every other time I start up my computer, I get the same message -- and when I re-boot, then the message is gone and my computer works fine.

May 4, 2007Some of my system files are corrupted, so I tried to repair Windows XP SP2 by reinstalling. But it was corrupted in the middle because of error "The file 'asms' on the Windows Professional XP CD-Rom is needed". I couldn't go on. The installation is halted. And I couldn't login to Windows any more. I have a very big problem that I'd like to ask you all here. the HD now is readonly, it's NTFS so very few File manager app is used to see it (only Volka in Hiren's Boot CD could do that.

The panel has no controls for vertical/horizontal size and whatever monitor is used, an OS desktop fills the screen by default. I can resize the window for the TV viewing program in the normal way,just filling my projection screen, but the XP desktop is far too large.Does anyone know of a way to change the physical size of the desktop (including the taskbar) so that it sits in the LCD screen with a blank border all around, or maybe even make it custom resizeable as in a program window ( without changing the resolution)?
