I have this error on my computer C:windowssystem32undll32.exe I was advised to download a new rundll32 to repair mine but I can't find any where on Microsoft web site. I have or had a virus. I was running F secure online scan when these problems all started. I have an error KB8964225.log on my screen every time I restart.I cannot access many programs obviously as the rundll is the base for a lot of things. I cannot get into system restore.
Pentium III, XP Pro machine: Recently did 2 clean re-installs (due to malware problems),& was working fine. Then ran rkill & Malwarebytes to get rid of Antivirus 7. Seemed OK after that. Then installed & ran TweakNow Power Pack (registry clean), Smart Defrag(deep optimization) & Revo Uninstaller. The machine began to slow down after using these utilities (I DO NOT know if they were the cause, or if it was just coincidence). Then ran Malwarebytes again, then Avast, found 50+ malware items. The machine keeps getting slower, it's now almost unusable. It boots, but incredibly sluggish, Internet Explorer takes forever to connect, constantly "hangs" for very long periods, HDD almost always churning.I'm thinking that maybe one of the utilities deleted some files needed by the os, maybe a repair install the thing to try. I cannot find this "Free XP Repair Disk Download" that is supposed to be available at the MS XP download site.
I have just installed some anti virus software and during installation I got messages saying my registry had been damaged and i should log onto such-and-such site to download repair software and run it on my system. I am suspicious that if I do this I am exposing myself to total destruction. One of the messages has just popped up again and the site it directs me to is FixReg32.com.
Problems started was when i updated my Zone Alarm firewall, windows works absolutely fine no problems what so ever, then next time i reboot it does the same, this time problems are non-stop until about 10% then fine from there on in, then when it finishes repairing the drive it gets stuck at repairing unreadable security descriptions date stream.
It also said whilst recovering orphaned files insufficient disk space to recover lost files. It stopped for a while then carried on. After scan disk it restarted and wouldn't load windows, just got stuck on windows loading screen forever, eventually 15+ minutes i pressed reset as there was no disk activity.
When I shut the system down and box pops up and says rundll32.exe has encountered an error and it ask's me to 'end now' or 'exit'. If I 'exit' nothing will happen and the system will not shut down so I have to select 'end now'.
I have a question about one of my startup items which is the rundll32.exe bthprops. I did a search but am still not sure whether I can uncheck this or not.
I'm running Windows XP Home edition SP2, and my System Restore does not work. When I try to start System Restore from the Help and Support section, I get the "System Restore Application has encountered an error" message and when I check the technical details, I get this error signature: AppName: rstrui.exe AppVer: 5.1.2600.2180 ModName: srrstr.dll ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 00009826
i always see rundll32.exe running in the taskmanager.i already know the basics abotu this program: it runs when you view ie properties or add/remove prog list, etc.the rundll32.exe thing pops up outta nowhere in the taskmanager.or sometimes, a flash pop-up ad comes up on the screen blocking everything. when i press the close button, rundll32.exe is still running. i hafta "end task" mto get rid of it completely (sometimes sound is still runing as well, until i end the task)ok so now, after about an hour using my computer, rundll32.exe appears on the tm again. it usually, if not always, comes in a pair. NOW, i see more and more being added every few hours/day. there are currently four of them running right now.
i think my rundll32.exe file got deleted and i tried downlaoding it again but that didn't work. I looked in system32 and it shows its there but the icon is a piece of paper, not a .exe icon, and it is preventing me from running programs, uninstalling programs and downloading anything. What do I do?
the problem: in control panel when i double click anything to open it will give me this error message ''Windows cannot find C:WINDOWSsystem32undll32.exe'' Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button & then click search'' i search for rundll32.exe, it finds 3 files in folders: C:Windows$NTServicePackUninstall$, C:WindowsServicePackFilesi386
When right clicking my windows XP desktop and selecting properties I get the following error:"Rundll32.exe - bad image" The application or DLL C:windowssystem32 hemeui.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette."This error began occcuring after installing new video drivers for my 128 DDR ATI Radeon 9700 TX video card. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, and returning to an older set of drivers. No luck. While in safe mode I get the same error. On a potentially related note, attempting to access system performance settings from system properties also gives the same error.Otherwise everything else on my system appears to be working perfectly fine.
My task manager says a program called rundll32.exe is running, and I don't think that should be running in Windows XP, which is my operating system. It is not running on my wife's computer, which is also running Win XP. I have ran AVG free edition scans on my system both in regular windows and in safe mode, and it comes back virus free. I have also ran Panda on-line scan in windows but it also shows the computer to be virus free. Have an anti-trojan program on my machine, called The Cleaner, that also shows no infection. However, that rundll32.exe is in the taskbar and I don't believe it should be there. I am including a copy of my hijack this log if it will be of any assistance.
I just got hit by a virus, it's all gone now. But one thing, it still messed up rundll32.exe and userinit. I cannot log in without, having to press control+ alt+delete, file, newtask, explorer.exe
I need help repairing file c:windowssys32 undll32.exe. It appears everytime I try to open any programs. The message reads that the file is missing or corrupt.
I know this operation is needed for some parts of Windows to function, but it sounds like a Trojan can also use this file to slow your computer. Norton 2005 says it doesn't seem to be harming my sysetm, but my stsem has seemed to be slowing lately. Also, on my Ctrl + Alt + Delete it says rundll32.exe is running at startup. Should it be running at startup, and how do I know if I have the Trojan or not?
Today I noticed 2 rundll32.exe files running in the Windows Task Manager. I have no idea what program is using them. I tried to end the processes but failed. Men usage is 4,344k and the other is using 3,980k I did the cmd tasklist thing and came up with this. Can anyone tell me if the files are okay or not?
i just got the "mywebsearch" malware on my comp, i used malwarebyte antimalware and its gone but now its say its missing rundll32 and i cant open control panel anymore, is there a way to fix it without reinstalling windows?
I know I am not the only one to have this issue, but have not seen a real fix. When our lab users try to save or open Hotmail attachments (Doc, PDF, XLS) recieve the error "Internet Explorer cannot download 94ea from 64.4.61.250. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailiable or cannot be found.
I got stuck with the Run32dll.exe virus. Noticed that IE was extremely slow and crashing constantly and task manager actually had 2 'Run32dll.exe' programs running and hogging up 100% cpu usage. I just did a Hijack this scan based on what I read from previous posts but I am not sure where to take it from here. I also noticed that something called 'SurfBuddy' is in there and have no idea where that came from. So if anyone can take a look at this Hijack This log and let me know what I should check off to be fixed that would be great. As you can see there are 4 run32dll.exe
I am unable to access anything in my Control Panel, I am getting the error message: Windows cannot find 'C:WINDOWSsystem32rundll32.exe'. make sure you typed the name correctly?
I ran a new tweak called Process Monitor, and the last statement on the "process tree" was "rundll32.exe" I looked on the internet and it said that this could possibly be a spyware tracking me, but it has a microsoft name applied to it. Can you tell me if I should delete this or not? It has 500 or so records (dll's I'm assuming) attached to it. When I run CCleaner, my firewall (kerio) asks that rundll32.exe wants to execute.
When i boot my desktop xp home... Get message box stating...rundll32.exe-entry point not found' inside box says '....msvcrt.dll... Not found in library...' i click ok, then new box says...' error loading p17rune.dll ' i click ok and all is well. I have downloaded drivers from nvidia.com
I recently just purchased norton 2006 to replace my 2003 edition.after uninstallin 2003, restarting, then attempting to install 2006, i got an error in the installation.i restarted my computer hoping that it would work the next time... well after i waited for it to restart, all my icons were blank on my desktop and i can't run any programs but firefox. The error states:"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. create an association in the folder options in the control panel."
two days ago my computer got infected with a trojan virus. it was running very very slow so i got the Norton 360, but when i tried to uninstall another version of norton from the control panel /add remove programs utility, i got the error message : Cannot find C:WINDOWSSystem32 undll32.exe. I was finally able to get the norton removal from the symantec website, install the norton 360, get rid of the virus and other threats. but that didn't seem to help the rundll32.exe problem, i still cannot access any of the utilities in the control panel and my computer is still running very slow.
i did a virus scan today and had to delete 5 files which are infected with something called Trojan. i cannt really remember all the file names, but im sure 2 of them called rundll32.exe and notepad.exe.now i cant open anything. whatever i click on, it will show up with a big error sign, saying cant find the perspective exe. eg. if i open explorer, it will say it cannt find explorer.exe.
My windows automatic updates notifier wants me to download Service Pack 3. I have heard of problems arising from Service Pack 3 (I have XP). Should I ignore it or should I download it?
How do I get the dialoge box to not close automatically after a download is complete? I have to minimize my browser, and open my desktop folder called Downloads to click on the downloaded item.
