2 Rundll32.exe Files In Windows Task Manager?
Mar 10, 2008Today I noticed 2 rundll32.exe files running in the Windows Task Manager. I have no idea what program is using them. I tried to end the processes but failed.
Men usage is 4,344k and the other is using 3,980k I did the cmd tasklist thing and came up with this. Can anyone tell me if the files are okay or not?

Aug 8, 2008I am running XP. The system is crawling. When I do a Task Manager or Ctrl Alt Delete, the little green square is full up and this is with no programs running except Windows. I am using Finity Soft Memory Manager and this program says Free Ram 54%, Memory Load Index 44%, and CPU 100%. How do I find out what programs are running other than using Task Manager which shows no programs running?

Virus Called Rundll32.exe: Wont Open Any Program?
Oct 1, 2005i did a virus scan today and had to delete 5 files which are infected with something called Trojan. i cannt really remember all the file names, but im sure 2 of them called rundll32.exe and notepad.exe.now i cant open anything. whatever i click on, it will show up with a big error sign, saying cant find the perspective exe. eg. if i open explorer, it will say it cannt find explorer.exe.

Aug 30, 2005A friend of mine has a 4 yr. old PC running XP Home with 128Mb of memory. He's had problems with programs aborting recently. I tried to run Device Manager to make sure there were no issues there. It briefly brought the screen up, then it went away. The same thing happened to Task Manager when I tried to see what was running and how much memory was being used. Anybody ever see this behavior before? I might try installing a memory cleaner pgm (ie. Memturbo), but I'm not sure I would even be able to get it to run. The hard drive amd memory seem to have no errors.

Feb 27, 2006I recently downloaded some media files and straight after my computer slowed down to a crawl and then would not respond. The mouse pointer remains active but i cannot click on anything succesfully. The task bar and task manager do not respond at all, i can open files saved on my desktop but cannot do anything when they're open and cannot close them again. I reset my PC a number of times but this did not solve the problem. I assume this is a virus or spyware problem but could it possibly be anything else?

Dec 22, 2008When I turn it on my wallpaper comes up on the desktop but no desktop icons or start up bar. Just an arrow. ctl -alt - del does not bring up the task manager. When I opened task manager there were several net.exe and net1.exe processes running. I would end a process and a new one would take its place. I scanned for spyware and viruses. The spyware that was found was cleaned. There were no viruses. When I ran in Safe Mode there were no problems.

Task Manager Only Shows One CPU
Feb 26, 2007my e6400 cpu does not show up in device manager. it shows up in the bios, and it shows up in the system information screen that lists your computer name, memory installed etc. it does not appear in device manager and task manager only shows one cpu. this is an intel core2 duo processor. system works good just doesnt show up in device manager in windows xp sp2.

Mar 19, 2005I clicked some virus and opened it like a idiot I need smoe help removing it. Everytime I CTRL+ALT+DELETE, the task manager comes up then its killed for some reason. The same happened for when yuou try and bring up the *forgot the name* thing to make everythiung smaller on the harddrive to get more room.I have looked at several things to try and get rid of this virus, but its not working.

Jun 25, 2005I'm not able to open the task manger or it only stays open for a few seconds and closing. Even HJT gets closed after a few seconds. Both actually works right after the computer boots up but shut down in about 30 seconds. I was able to run a scan before it shut down.

Inoperative Task Manager

Feb 5, 2009since yesterday my task manager (the bar at the bottom where u have all your windows) at the bottom of the screen has dissappeared. i am using win xp home edition. and i have checked to see if the show/hide option for the task manager was checked or not but i am pretty sure its not that option otherwise i would get my bar back if i moved the cursor at the bottom of the screen.

Sep 21, 2007I understand that this is a widows update client running process, but I have 18 of them running in my task manager!!!I can't browse the Internet or open applications (MS Word, Windows Media Player, etc.)and I can't access its files on my network. It tries to run the app when you select it, but then itquickly goes away. Seems like over time the wuauclt's keep adding on in the task manager, like it's trying to update but can't.All my computer can really do is open task manager and get into control panel.

Sep 26, 2006I turned on my computer and found out that my regular user cant access task manager/run or turn off the computer. i am the only user on this computer and there is no network. the user is listed as administrator and i can change/create/delete other users which i tried. i created an admin user and that guy could do everything except access other user files. i looked into Administrators group and both were listed. when i do ctrl+alt+del it says Task manager has been disabled by computer administrator. but there's no administrator. there's a win98 computer that's connected to this one. but it's only used for internet by people who call a browser the internet every time my computer boots up it goes to a bios where date and time are change to weird numbers every time
