For some reason winxp is suddenly displaying every thing upside down.when he restarts his computer everything seems fine until the desk top appears. he suspects his children my have changed settings but he can't find what they might be.
everything on the desktop is turned upside down, but it seems to be operating in the same manner. The mouse cursor moves in the opposite direction to which I direct it. My laptop is an Acer TravelMate 254LC_DT.
I don't know what I did, but my screen is flipped upside down. So if I were to turn my monitor 180 degrees flip it so that the top becomes the bottom everything looks normal.
I had to reboot my computer because it froze up and when it rebooted windows 2000 is upside down, everything is upside down! Even the mouse movement is upside down.
On my son's computer, the monitor image is upside down.Even the mouse points toward the bottom of the screen. The graphics are fine, GUI works fine but it's UPSIDE DOWN.
A computer in their room, its an IBM with windows xp,Somehow they have rotated desktop 180 degrees and its upside down and I dont know how to return it to normal.Im fairly certain its the desktop because the monitor menu is the right way
i have XP Home OS laptop pc playing games .whatever he did i don't know he insists he closed it down properly but when i have come to start it up this morning everything on the welcome screen is upside down.is there a quick way to rectify this or is a system restore to previous point the only solution
I have a 2GB RAM + 2.5 GHz + nVidia Pro motherboard + Windows XP PC.
Everytime i start my PC, after loggin in, it just displays the wallpaper. NOTHING ELSE! No mouse right clicks, no windows button works! Cannot work on it AT ALL!
It seems like it has hung, but if i try a Cntrl+Alt+Del, the task mgr screen opens up and i can select a single program by "New Task" and run it! so, definitely there is a normal PC running behind that wallpaper!
Now, heres the frustrating part -
I have had this issue after formatting the PC for abt 7 times till now! the antivirus (tried all) run immediately after a format shows nothing now - and still the issue would crop up after 2-3 days again!
I am really terrified with this, seems like a major virun attack as my PC shows up behavorial changes each time coupled with the above issue!
After pressing random buttons on the keyboard the image on the screen is now upside down and the mouse reacts as if it were upside down. It is connected to a touch screen that reacts as if the image on the screen was correct. When you reboot the start up screens are the correct way up but then it reverts back.
I'm trying to copy a partition of my hard drive over to an external drive so that I can format that drive and delete the partition.
I've run into a file that I cannot copy, move, rename, The file originally had the character in it, but I think sometime in one of the transfers of the file, it lost the character and it got replaced with an upside-down "T". This file was saved in different versions under the same name in two different folders and the same errors have occurred with both"
"Cannot copy file: Cannot read from the source file or disk" and in DOS:"The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."
I decided to do a clean install of XP with SP2 included on the same disc. I had done this before but sometime ago. The Install appears to run fine but after all the files are copied to the hard drive and then the system reboots it hangs displaying the XP logo with the blue activity bars going from left to right. I've removed all boards and even bought a new copy as there is a small scratch on it. I get the same result with the new disc. I borrowed a copy of XP with SP1 and it installs fine. I assume this proves the hardware is all ok.
About once a day, my system starts displaying random errors. Applications do not work as they should, and my network card is seemingly disabled. The only solution is a reboot. During the shutdown process, the welcome screen is usually enabled, however, when these errors occur, small dialog boxes saying "Logging off" and "shutting down" are displayed. I am pretty sure it's not spyware, as this is a fresh install of XP only a week old.
I've got XP Pro SP2.My JPE, JPEG, JPG files are displaying the Netscape icon next to them even though I have gone to Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options and set it up so that Photoshop opens each of these file types. The Photoshop icon is displayed in the Folder Options as it should be, and the files do open in Photoshop, but if I go to File > Open in Photoshop, all of these files have the Netscape icon. How do I make it so the Photoshop icon is displayed for these?
I'm having trouble with virtual network adapters not displaying under network connections (WinXP PRO SP3). Specifically, I'm trying Hexago Virtual Multi-Tunnel Adapter and Microsoft Loopback Adapter. They display under device manager, and Microsoft Loopback Adapter displays under IPCONFIG but does not obtain an ip address (it gets a 169.x.x.x address). I have DHCP enabled on my router. Hexago Virutal Multi-Tunnel Adapter only displays under IPCONFIG as Quote: Ethernet adapter {92E05311-E540-4405-A525-80ABD9C93EE9}: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Neither displays under Network Connections.
I touched something on my computer, can't remember what. Basically my screen seems to have swivelled 90 degrees clockwise, sos the desktop bar is on the side of the screen, and the desktop picture is upside down - so i have to turn my head upside down in order to view my screen normally. How it goes back to the normal way?

I am having a minor graphical issue with Windows XP.Windows was running as ever up until about a month ago, it starts up a logs into accounts fine, however it fails at displaying the user's theme.I usually have the Windows Classic theme, however when I start a computer up there is a high chance (not always) that it will ignore my theme options and set it'self to default. It remembers the button size and colouring options, however it will not display the window classic theme. The taskbar returnes to it's defauly blue.If I log off of the current user and log back into it, the theme displays correctly. Just at start up it will sometimes display the default theme until logged back into.
I have an external hdd...my xp has detected the driver for the hdd but its not displaying in disk management and also in My Computer. I can only see my C drive and cd-rom. How to resolve this coz i have important file there.
When I open my "My Computer" folder, it displays my computer contents just like any other folder on my pc... it doesn't break my icons up into groups. I can post a screenshot if you can't understand what I mean. Here's the really weird thing. If I login under my personal account, I have this problem. However, if I log off my account and log back in under the Administrator account, the "My Computer" folder displays properly, without anything wrong.
I am running XP at this time. XP Media Center Edition to be exact. My computer is fairly new, only purchased in July of last year. It is a Dell with a 3GHz processor and 4GB of RAM if that matters.
My friend has a pretty new Dell Dimension E520: XP MCE 2005, C2D E6300, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 128MB ATI graphics. Her computer just randomly stopped displaying the screensaver after the set amount of time went by. It doesn't even put the monitor in standby after an hour. Does anyone have an idea as to why it is doing this?
My nieces were playing Hercules on their older genetic computer when the monitor screen flipped. Now everything is upside down. We tried rebooting and only the initial intel logo is displayed correctly for a couple of seconds and then the windows screen comes on upside down. Any ideas on how to fix this? As I mentioned, it's an older unit with Windows XP installed.
I have an odd issue with diskmgmt.msc or the disk managment feature of computer management (both the same thing). Anyway, it displays my fixed hard drive in my laptop just fine, however my SD/MMC cards, CD/DVD drives, external drives, etc.....do not show up. They are recognized however, and I can access my drive G: (the SD card) just fine through explorer and my computer. Is there any reason why they're not showing up in my disk management console? and is there a way to fix this?
