View 4 RepliesI was playing a game and I rebooted my computer. When i went to start it it went to the a blank blue screen before the account screen in the beginning of XP. I know i can restore to new but i will have lost so much information that it would take about 3 months to retain it all back. It says it can not find operating system. I need help in a serious way. all advice and solutions are requested.

Every time i run a PC game my computer goes to the blue screen. It also does the EXACT same thing every once in awhile for java applets or large flash animations. It doesnt give any file name on the blue screen or any description of what is causing this. I dont know if there is some information you can get from those numbers.

I can't even read the blue screen it goes by so quick. Is there anyway for me to find out what it is saying? Is there a log somewhere or something?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI've just purchased a brand new system, and its driving me nuts. The last system i put together was an old p3-1000 along time ago. ive bought a customized system and had it delivered recently, installed windows and instantly started hitting blue screens, ive spent 3 nights removing drivers and reinstalling, downclocking, everything and im still getting random bsod during even the most mundane activities. my cpu is running around 50c and my gpu's are both 50c idle and 60c underload, so i dont think heat is an issue. ive attached some mini-dumps, could somebody take a look and try to help me out? back in the day i would be all over this issue, but have been out of touch and i'm way behind the ball lately, i realize that getting 3-4 different excuses from windows to dump cant be a good sign. any help would be appreciated. BTW the last system i put together is 6-7 years old, still runs and not a single blue screen.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI turned on my computer today, of course to be stuck with a blue screen of death.I'm getting the error:I have google'd this error, but I only get the first and second sets of error codes to match. No one seems to have the third set [0x823AA138] and after. No idea what to do.I have tried repairing but it kept saying X file is missing do you want to skip? I did this for many files before I got another blue screen.
Out of no where, my computer just shuts off, so I turn it back on and a blue screen appears. It says that it had to shut down windows so that it doesnt cause any problems. So i restart my computer and then when i go to log in, my normal log in screen doesnt appear. It shows a box that says Account Name, and password. Usually its the normal log in screen with the pictures to click on to get into an account. So i "log in", and nex thing I notice is the icons on the desktop have a wierd color to them. Then I notice there is a grey bar covering my taskbar and Start button. I cant click the start button at all. And when I click the Windows button on my keyboard, it pops up the start menu but it doesnt have any icons beside the names. It sort of looks like im in safe mode, but im not.And when I right click on My computer, it doesnt show the General, Computer Name, or Automatic Updates tabs. When I click on the Remote tab, it doesnt show anything and then the tab just disappears. Also when I try starting a program like World of Warcraft, or Ventrillo it says "The application has failed to start becuase the application configuration in incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

My computer keeps telling me that I'm not connected to the internet even though I am (I use wireless cable internet). In the start menu, where it says "all programs" with the arrow, that wont show me all my programs.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI was just in itunes adding about 12 songs when my comp not only froze, but it also gave me a blue screen. I didn't copy the exact number/code it gave me, but it did say kernal_data_inpage_error. Right now, it seems fine. Not blazing fast, but normal. I had itunes opened about 10 minutes ago just after restarting and it took a good 5 minutes just to cntrl alt delete and use task manager to close it. I also got a blue screen once over night when trying to use MyDefrag to defrag my larger slave drive. It worked fine in defragmenting my smaller master drive.
View 7 Replies View Relatedi got nothing but a blue screen when i turned it on and it would shut itself down within 5 minutes, even when plugged in. I figured it was due to a virus, so i wiped the drive and reinstalled windows xp. everything seems to work ok, except for the fact that now neither my internal wireless nor my SD slot seem to work at all. Its like my laptop is rejecting them and it didnt start happening until i reinstalled XP.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe little windows updater appeared at the bottom of my screen so I allowed the update to continue. When it did, a window came up to install the update (I thought it was wierd at the time because it looked like a non windows looking update), however I let it finish and then my computer just froze...
I rebooted and now when it gets to the windows loading screen I get a blue screen that says REGISTRY ERROR Below that, the exact error is STOP: 0x000000051 (0x0000001, 0xE1777008, 0x0134A000, 0x0000001D6) Is there anyway I can try and do windows restore or backup my files in any way? I have tried every possible boot option (safe mode etc...) and it does the same thing. I can't afford to reformat
One day I turned on my computer, only to find the blue screen of death. It said something about something needed to boot up not being found. I started looking for my XP reinstallation CD, and managed to find it (the first time I've ever found anything when I really needed it). However, as I was following the instructions, I kept getting messages popping up saying that files couldn't be installed (there were at least 40 of them). I had no choice but to press the "continue" button, but I figured that it couldn't be too important.
Everything seemed to be going fine, but then I realized that things didn't seem to work the same. I lost the newest edition of WMP, but that was fine with me. However, I also lost SP2, and I can't seem to get it back. In fact, NONE of my automatic updates are downloading. Does anyone have any idea what could have happened or how to rectify the situation?
I am new to this board hope i am doing this right. I have a Dell demision desktop which was only a little over a yr old. I worked on it for 4 days straight until i got so mad i went to best buy and got a new computer but now i would like to use old one for kids to play on but i tried to reinstall from the disk that came with computer which it says that it did. I lost all my info on computer but i thought ok now i can get it going but it is so slow. Naturally, I fired up Acronis True Image and restored this morning's image, but I figure at some point they'll try to push this update down on patch Tuesday
there are thousands of blue lines on my computer screen running up and down, they move when I type, etc. It looks kind of like a bunch of barcodes all across my screen if I could compare it to anything. My computer seems to run fine even with them on the screen. I thought my video card may be shot but when I tried starting my computer in safe mode this lead me to believe that this may be a virus or trojan.

when i tried to use existing HDD with another computer, it didn't boot and gave me BSOD and restarts. I started again and did a virus scan and it wouldent let me. So after trying and trying I finally gave up, I had nothing i wanted on that hard drive, so I decided just to reinstall windows. I pop the CD in there, and it asks me if I want to repair, I tried that. Now it wont even let me run safe mode.I do boot from cd, but when it loads the CD i cant see anything but a blue screen, like it froze or my screen doesent load it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a dell Pentium 4 with XP service pack 2 installed, that has suddenly stopped booting. All I am getting is a blue screen with the stop error 0x00000024, which I believe means the ntfs file may be corrupted. I cannot do anything in safe mode or last known good or any other choices that might be available. Every time I try to do anything I get the blue screen immediately. The biggest problem seems to be that I cannot boot from the windows CD either. I don't know why, it just goes right by it. I have tried moving it up in the boot order in the bios but it made no difference. Is there anything else I can do to get that CD to boot or find a way to access it? Right now I seem to have no way to repair this problem.
