View 14 Replies View RelatedPentium 4, 2.44 gig processor, 2 gig memory, XP Pro SP3. I have had recurring BSOD for 2 months. After running a mini-dump with BlueScreen View, the problem appeared to be a corrupted ntoskrnl.exe file. I rebuilt the Boot.ini file, which loads the ntoskrnl.exe file. Still BSOD crashes. I then purchased "Registry Booster", and ran that. Continued BSOD crashes. I can send a JPEG of the BlueScreen View if any one can help me figure out the cause of these random crashes.
View 20 Replies View RelatedHave a Dell Dimension 2350 at home with XP as the OS. Rarely use the PC because it is on NetZero's free dial-up. Has current CA Internet Security Suite too.
Getting the blue screen occasionally when I start NetZero's free dial-up program. The blue screen will appear right as the PC is trying to open up a Internet Explorer window, after the dial-up connection has been made successfully. The blue screen states to disable BIOS, but I don't have a clue how to do that
I run Windows XP and keep finding that when I leave my PC unattended for more than 10 minutes I get a blue screen with a scary message regarding the dumping of physical memory. The error codes in the message are as follows:
stop 0X0000008E, 0XBA40721F, 0XEBC267C, 0X00000000, videoprt.sys - address BA40721F base at BA401000 Date Stamp41107d08
I've done about as much research on this as I can understand, but I am still at a loss. I have recently been getting the infamous BSOD and lots of Error Reporting Messages. Most commonly, the error reporting is with Internet Explorer or Firefox, and tonight my BSOD was during a full system scan using F-Secure.
I used to get BSODs all the time, but a co-worker took it home for a weekend and replaced some RAM (I think?) and got things running again. This only solved the problem for a few months and things have gotten progressively worse.
I am a computer science/engineer major and I know somewhat a lot about computers, but this is my first time seeing this blue screen. My computer will start up to the compaq screen then goes to windows xp and then it flashes a blue screen for a split second. I was able to freeze it, but do not know how i did it, but it said something about a cretain system32 file is corrupt. there is a corrupt hive. complete physical memory dump complete. contact tech support or system administrator. right now, I am out of town and i have been reading about it and they say something about using a recovery console. I do not have my XP disk with me. I was wondering could I use anyone's XP disk and how do i fix this problem with no disk or using a XP disk?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen my computer boots up, about 5 seconds after the desktop loads, my screen turns blue with the Physical Memory Dump Error
Stop: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xEDACCB75, 0xeB6E67F0, 0x0000000)
It boots up in safe mode fine, I have tried system restore and ran multiple virus/malware scans.
I have a computer running XP Pro (recently updated from 2000) and I leave it on at night. I wake up every morning to the log in screen. When I run ccleaner, I noticed there is a big file called memory dump. I researched and got confused, but found one suggestion that said to make that file size smaller.
It happened again today and I am not sure what to do to fix it. It happened once when I was at my desk and I only caught "STOP: 0x0000008E" and then something about beginning of physical memory dump.
Everything will freeze, completeley and then it will go to a blue screen that says something like
HARD DRIVER ERROR:BEGINNING DUMP OF PHYSICAL MEMORY
which scares the living **** out of me, so I turn off the power manually from the power strip connected to my computer and switch it on again, sometimes, It'll start up and after it shows the Hardware and Window XPs loads, It goes to another blue screen that says HARD ERROR, instead of having me log in.

The last system i put together was an old p3-1000 along time ago. ive bought a customized system and had it delivered recently, installed windows and instantly started hitting blue screens, ive spent 3 nights removing drivers and reinstalling, downclocking, everything and im still getting random bsod during even the most mundane activities. my cpu is running around 50c and my gpu's are both 50c idle and 60c underload, so i dont think heat is an issue. ive attached some mini-dumps, could somebody take a look and try to help me out? back in the day i would be all over this issue, but have been out of touch and i'm way behind the ball lately, i realize that getting 3-4 different excuses from windows to dump cant be a good sign. any help would be appreciated. BTW the last system i put together is 6-7 years old, still runs and not a single blue screen.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI turned on my computer today, of course to be stuck with a blue screen of death.I'm getting the error:I have google'd this error, but I only get the first and second sets of error codes to match. No one seems to have the third set [0x823AA138] and after. No idea what to do.I have tried repairing but it kept saying X file is missing do you want to skip? I did this for many files before I got another blue screen.
Out of no where, my computer just shuts off, so I turn it back on and a blue screen appears. It says that it had to shut down windows so that it doesnt cause any problems. So i restart my computer and then when i go to log in, my normal log in screen doesnt appear. It shows a box that says Account Name, and password. Usually its the normal log in screen with the pictures to click on to get into an account. So i "log in", and nex thing I notice is the icons on the desktop have a wierd color to them. Then I notice there is a grey bar covering my taskbar and Start button. I cant click the start button at all. And when I click the Windows button on my keyboard, it pops up the start menu but it doesnt have any icons beside the names. It sort of looks like im in safe mode, but im not.And when I right click on My computer, it doesnt show the General, Computer Name, or Automatic Updates tabs. When I click on the Remote tab, it doesnt show anything and then the tab just disappears. Also when I try starting a program like World of Warcraft, or Ventrillo it says "The application has failed to start becuase the application configuration in incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

View 14 Replies View RelatedI was just in itunes adding about 12 songs when my comp not only froze, but it also gave me a blue screen. I didn't copy the exact number/code it gave me, but it did say kernal_data_inpage_error. Right now, it seems fine. Not blazing fast, but normal. I had itunes opened about 10 minutes ago just after restarting and it took a good 5 minutes just to cntrl alt delete and use task manager to close it. I also got a blue screen once over night when trying to use MyDefrag to defrag my larger slave drive. It worked fine in defragmenting my smaller master drive.
