Can anybody think of a reason that my video camera would not be recognized by my machine? It's a standard USB connection to a brand new Sony digital video camera. My machine doesn't even pick up that the camera has been plugged in (i.e. not even a pop up that says "New hardware detected" ).
When I first got the computer, when I plugged in a digital camera, I got a "found new hardware" pop-up, thereafter when plugging in the USB cable, the XP camera wizard popped up and the pictures were downloaded without a fuss. At some point it stopped working, and I've ended up using Picassa to get the images d'ld, but it won't let me add photos to an existing folder. I want the Windows wizard to work again, that was better. My new camera is not recognized at all, and if anything pops up, it's Explorer. I tried to install drivers from the disc that came with the camera, but keep getting a message that says I don't need to. I've tried to manually add the camera with the "add hardware" function, but it won't work.
You know when you plug your camera into your computer it brings up the picture transfer wizard. well my computer no longer does that and its kind of annoying. anyone know how to reactivate autoplay i guess? ive tried different usb ports and i even uninstalled usb root hubs and rebooted and let them reinstall themselves.
I have a problem which many others seem to share, which is that the Scanner and Camera Wizard has suddenly ceased to appear automatically when downloading from a camera. Until a few days ago, I could plug my Olympus into my computer with a USB lead, and a box would crop up offering several courses of action. I would choose the one which permitted downloading the camera files to a folder. Next the Scanner and Camera Wizard would pop up, and after a few clicks, the camera files would be downloaded to my hard drive, and any unwanted shots would be deleted. I mention all this because some people appear to think that the Scanner and Camera Install Wizard is the same thing, but it isn't.Various cures have been put forward, like uninstalling Real Player 10, finding wiaacmgr.exe and renaming it to Scanner and Camera Wizard, and reinstalling the camera. I have tried these without success, and the wiaacmgr file is not present on either of my XP computers (one Pro, the other Home). I have also downloaded Autofix.exe, which found nothing wrong, and tried to persuade Autoplay to do the business.
Just got my first digital camera and all was good until I tried to download pictures to my pc. The microsoft scanner and camera wizard would not pop up when I attached my camera all settings and plugs checked). I found out this may be due to SP2 or Real Time, which I do not have. Has anyone else had this problem and what is the best and quickest fix.
I have a Sabrent SBT-EKU25 external enclosure with a 2.5 inch hard disk in it. This is a USB 2.0 drive and whenever I connect it to USB 2.0 port, it is not recognized (or "recognized" as an unknown device" ) on all my machines. It however is recognized as a drive and works fine on one laptop which has only USB 1.1 ports.I have tried separately powered USB hubs as well without success. So I don't think it's a power issue.I have even tried deleting all USB devices in Device Manager and let the machine rediscover them.
What equipment and software do I need to place multiple live cameras in a house I plan to renovate and have the ability to view the screens from my residence in an adjoining county? I have a Dell 8300, 2.6ghz clock speed, 1 gig RAM, 80 gig hard drive. There are two lesser machines in my residence connected through a home network; cable modem, router, hub, then PC's.
When I put a CD/DVD in or plug in my digital camera it no longer runs automatically. The dinging sound that is offiliated with plugging in the camera occurs, but nothing pops up. Where do I go to change this setting so that it will pop up with my options as soon as I plug in the camera or put in a CD or DVD?
I am having problems with XP recognizing the scanner on my HP PSC 2110 which had worked well on ME. I also can not get XP to recoginize my Vivitar Camera, both are connected using USB ports.I have uninstalled and reinstalled both software packages to no avail. Printer works even though it is not recognized.
Not sure if this is the correct forum... I am looking for a free driver for my IBM PC Camera Pro Max, Model XVP600, it was a good cam and worked well under windows 98se, but now i have updated to Windows XP pro and am wondering if there are drivers out there which allow this cam to work with XP.
Last year I purchased a new digital Sony video recorder (TRV245E) and together with a quite new PC (operated by OS Windows XP Pro) and the software which came together with the Sony video on an installation CD the recorder works properly together with the PC. This year at first I explored this Sony's interface programe more deeply and there I've got the problem:The software program is: ImageMixer ver 1.5 for Sony made by Pixela.Connection cable between camera and my PC: USB cable.I know that the USB port on my computer is version 2.0.The software creates .mpg or .avi files. Hence I should use ordinary CD-R, not DVD. Problem: The ImageMixer interface program never delivers any sound, neither to the new created file nor when only exploring the video tape on my PC.
When I plug my digital camera into the dock, it used to automatically take me to My Pictures, or latleast ask me what I wanted to do with them. It does nothjing, and I have to go to Start-My Computer. F drive etc just to get to the pictures to move them.
I have upgraded my pc from Windows Me to Windows XP. Everything seems to be going OK. but I cant get my IBM pc camera software installed or my labtec headset. How would I go about this?
After I uninstalled some Dell printer software from my computer, my Cannon camera and Samsung scanner do not work. I have deleted the devices and connected them again but when XP tries to install the drivers I get this error: "Windows cannot load the device drivers for the new hardware. The Driver may be corrupt or missing. (Code 39)".I have reinstalled SP2 then SP3 but that did not help.
Usually this will start on it's own. Today that is not happening. I have verified that everything is connected correctly. Is there any other way to start this?
Running every bl**dy time I plug in a USB mini hard drive? I've tried a system restore, searched some about autoplay- turned autoplay off and on, tried to find autoplay in GPEDIT, no joy there, irritating in that just the one USB drive does this, and it doesn't even have any pictures on it.
I seem to have "lost" the executable for the "scanner and camera wizard", which makes it easy to write digital images from my CF card to my hard drive. I know I can do some cutting and pasting to get the images there.
When I plug in my camera into a USB port, the Scanner and Camera wizard, which used to run, no longer runs, instead an explorer box pops up with the folder(s) on the memory stick. I can browse the memory stick, also. When I try to manually run the scanner and camera wizard, it tells me it cannot recognize the scanner or camera. Again, this was working, suddently it stopped.

I use remote desktop to remotely control our lab pc, which is connected to a camera. We want to remotely control the camera to take pictures of what is shown on that monitor facing the camera and connected to the lab pc. Now the problem is: when I do remote control, MS XP always show a blue log-on screen on that remote PC. That's bad because we want it to be able to show some pictures.
I was wondering if any one knows of a free program that does the same thing as the "scanner & camera wizard" that microsoft offers in XP?? I suppose I can use the one on the CD that came with my camera- But I dont like that one. I want to be able to plug my camera by USB to the PC and have the pictures downloaded right away- See, I was using the "scanner & camera wizard" that came with my pc (win XP) & have tried to get it to recognise my camera as it USED to do before, but it stopped.I have tried doing some troubleshooting.
I have just purchased a Fuji Fine pix camera and cannot get the device manager to see it. It has a yellow triangle against the digital camera entry and under properties has" Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38) If I install new hardware it sees tha camera and I get new hardware found but then give the message not installed properly, any ideas out there?
