View 1 Replies View RelatedSince Win XP (+ service pack and annoying CA EZ Trust virus software; anyone know how to keep the ez firewall software from loading at startup?), my computer will crash intermittently - with no seeming pattern. No blue screen, no warning, just 'bang'; I kill the powercord, turn it back on and it's like nothing happened to the unit. there's often no event of the crash in the error reporting queue sometimes crash occurs and startup prompts for a diskcheck; never a problem there. This phenomena occurs most frequently when I'm (trying) running a backup - or when I do an extended virus search backup routine I can't complete without a crash; virus check has gone thru completely a number of times.

After running a mini-dump with BlueScreen View, the problem appeared to be a corrupted ntoskrnl.exe file. I rebuilt the Boot.ini file, which loads the ntoskrnl.exe file. Still BSOD crashes. I then purchased "Registry Booster", and ran that. Continued BSOD crashes. I can send a JPEG of the BlueScreen View if any one can help me figure out the cause of these random crashes.
View 20 Replies View Relatedmy Toshiba Satellite M110 recently froze, crashed, displayed the blue screen (beginning dump of physical memory). i restarted the computer, but it suddenly displayed: Read Disk error. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart.I talked to Toshiba Corp. Australia, but they said i had to bring it in to be repaired, or backed up, then a system restore. my dad has a technician friend, who will be able to back it up... but is there any other ideas? i mean, this might sound rather random and deranged, but does anyone here know how to open up and remove a HDD (hard Disk Drive) from a Toshiba Satellite without blowing anything up? my dad's tech friend has a laptop USB HDD Caddy, but i just need to well yea. i have the recovery disk and know how to recover, so i got that bit covered, just the removal of the HDD before 2nite and safely too. other wise i can just get my dad's tech friend to do it.

How can I rectify this???
I've been having a problem with getting BSOD's for a long time now (assuming you don't know, bsod = blue screen of death). For the first couple months I was ok with my computer randomly crashing like this but I started to get tired of so I wrote down the errors I was getting, which were basically all STOP and irql_driver errors, so I figured I would update my drivers and things would start working better. I did that 5 days ago, and now the messages have just changed.
Before, when I used to get them there was either no files listed or three. They were win32k.sys, ha10kx2k.sys and ntfs.sys. The last two traced to either my graphics drivers or my sound drivers so I updated both of those. Now I'm starting to get totally new files, being Klif.sys and bcmwl5.sys. I haven't looked these up yet but will soon. Now, these errors occur at ANYTIME, and I'm not kidding you. Sometimes I come back to my computer after it's been idle for hours and there's a blue screen sitting there (I turned the timed restart off so I could write down the errors). Now, after reading around the internet the only thing I can come to is that my RAM is messed up, but I haven't done a memory check yet (probably should).
Also, if there is any sort of sound playing when I get the BSOD, the sound skips like a record skip and then after 5 seconds starts making the most annoying, high pitched, scratching, static, fuzz noise you could ever hear. Now I've had my computer for 3 years now and these errors started occuring regularly about 8-9 months ago. When I used to get BSOD's infrequently before this period, the sound problem described above still happened, which has led me to believe that my sound card is bad.
I installed a codec that was a virus disguised in windows media player. As soon as i installed it i got the BSOD. i got BSOD from normal boot, safe mode, trying to use the windows cd(to do a recovery but crashes before first screen of options). If i use a linux based boot disk 2/3 kernal paniced. The one that didnt panic, Avira anti-virus, scans finds the virus but cannot remove it. It is definitely not a hardware problem and i have tried all of the boot cds with ALL of my hdds unplugged and it does the same.
View 14 Replies View RelatedMy computer crashed the other day and went to a blue screen and said something about dumping physical memory up to 100%. Then it turned off and i restarted it only to end up with a black screen after the bios start up. This has happened before and I fixed it by using a windows xp install disk and reinstalling windows xp. When i tried to do this this time and i chose install my computer says that it cant read the disk. Its not anything to do with the actual disk reader but more of a comp problem that i know can be fixed because my friends dad fixed the same problem for me a long time ago.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have recently been getting a "blue screen of death" or windows crash screen and have been trying to get a solution. I was running a computer game several days ago and began to notice crackling in the speakers every now and then and became concerned. When out of no where the game crashes and I get a blue screen thats says stop: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer and it goes on to sya a bunch of other crap and at the bottom the technical code for the error reads 0x0000009c (0x00000004 0x8053FAf0 0xB2000000 0x00070F0F. I decided the best way to go would be a re-installation of windows. But anyways.
