All Images Stored In My Pictures Automatically
Jan 5, 2005Why does all my images stored in "My Pictures" automatically get copied into my background folder by default? How can I edit the background file?

Aug 17, 2005I cannot see some images in internet explorer, such as company logos, pictures, etc. There is no red x or "placeholder" shown, I just don't see it at all and wouldn't know it was supposed to be there except I was on another computer and noticed the look of some web pages was different. Not all images are missing, just some. I have tried changing the "view", also the check next to show images in "Advanced" tab of Internet Options IS checked. I have re-installed Macromedia and Java. I have tried turning off Ad Blocking on my Norton.

Apr 17, 2007I was wondering if there are any easy solutions with my problem. Everytime I attempt to view my photos in "My pictures" an error pops up and the file closes. This also happens when I try to save photos from the internet. For example: If i went on google and searched images and try to save one internet explorer closes automatically. Additional information: I have 111 GB with 93GB free, I have over 600 image files in "my pictures" and this problem started to occur once I purchased a Sony Cyber-Shot camera and installed their software: Cyber-shot viewer.If anyone has any solutions it would be very appreaicated. I do not want to lose the pictures I have saved.

(It was before the format).I have typed in "Export Pictures from CD to My Pictures folder" without the quotes and I get a list of links pertaining to CD recording errors and other things like that. I did right click on a picture in Drive E (my CD-RW) just to see what would come up and I noticed that on the Send To menu that these pictures can be sent to the desktop.

Apr 27, 2007My primary Dell computer has WinXP Pro from a re-install. Unfortunately, the Dell reinstallation CD doesn't have the drivers that the OEM installation had, so whenever I add a hardware device, I have to also install the drivers.
I just acquired a second computer, also a Dell, that has WinXP Home Edition on it. So I was thinking that if I could find the driver "library" on the Home Edn, I could then copy it to the Pro machine
Downloaded Updates Are Stored In?
Jun 18, 2006Where do the XP updates (auto) go when they're downloaded ?
My PC told me there were some updates ready but when I was downloading them I had a power cut....
now it still says there are updates ready but it zips past the download stage (having recognised the files already exist) and goes straight into the installing stage but it always fails.
I suspect my original download has been corrupted by the power cut. I need to know where these downloaded updates get stored, so I can delete the file and start again.

Dec 1, 2008I have taken a series of pictures on different days and downloaded them into a folder in My Pictures. I need to put them in a sequence so I right clicked each picture and re-named it as follows: 001jpg, 002jpg and so on for 100 pictures. In view, I selected arrange icons by modified and all the pictures moved to the sequence I wanted. All is well and good until I copied the folder to a CD. All the pictures reverted to their original sequence instead of the sequence I put them in.

When previewing some images I have stored in My Pictures, I find when using the 'previous' and 'next' buttons I am able to pull up the next or previous pictures as I should. But when I e-mail an image to myself and then use the 'next' or 'previous' buttons, I begin to get images from web sites I have recently visited even if it is just my home page. While scanning my home page, for instance, I collect dozens of images in a matter of minutes.The only change I have made recently is a download of info from a digital camera disc to enable me to store pictures from my new camera.
I did a system restore to a couple of days before that download but I'm still copying dots, dashes, logos and pictures or frames from videos.
All Profiles Stored By System Missing After System Restore?
Dec 5, 2008This is a machine running on windows XP SP2 1200mz AMD.After restoring system to an earlier date, I am unable to run any program that requires a user profile. I believe that a .dll is currupted. I am not sure but I don't think that the registry is finding the wups2.dll file. I tried the regsvr32 command but could'nt get that to work. Outlook Express will ask for a user profile and password. This never happened before.

I have unchecked the appropriate box in the security tab under Options' in the 'Tools' pull down menue of Outlook Express. I still can not get certain images. Jul 16, 2008Had to re-install XP2 Pro and Outlook Express 6. Need to figure out why I can't forward emails that contain images, such as jpegs. I receive the email with the jpeg in the message fine but when I forward the email the jpegs only show as the empty box with the "x" in top left corner. Before re-installing Xp and Office and OE6 I was able to do this. Is there a setting or configuration that I missed. I have set in OE6 Mail Sending Format to HTML with Send Pictures with Messages and Encoding Text as Quoted Printable. I'm using Yahoo as my mail server.

Mar 22, 2006I want to perform a clean install on a older dell poweredge running Win 2000 server that i aquired a while back. What i would like to do is create a Acronis True Image of the current install and throw it on an external HD. (i want to keep the current install usable for a few weeks) Then wipe the disk and do a clean install of the OS and start fresh till i get everything running the way i like it. And also create a image of this new install and throw it on the external HD as well.
But during this span of a few weeks i would need to restore to the original install and go back to the fresh install quite a few times probalby....err toggle between the original and new install until all is well. (carry on with the fresh install when no one is in the office, when done for the night restore back to original install untill the next night i can continue with my work and toggle to the new install again and again and again.

Nov 20, 2005I have a problem with viewing images on some websites.I have a Dell Dimension 4600 Series computer, I use Windows XP, IE browser, and I have Norton Systemworks premier 2005 Antivirus program on my computer. I also have spywareblaster from javacool site and a popup blocker.The main type of websites I have trouble viewing are websites with e-cards. I can view the e-cards but when I click on them to view to send..I get the tiny box with the red x in it.One in particular is the Hallmark.com site..I only get a blank background with the box & red x on the main page. If I go down to the e-cards and click on it.I can see the e-cards but again, when I click on one to send, nothing but the blank with the box & red x.Also I have tried to download the Macromedia Flash Player. I click on the download box, the next page that comes up, there is nothing to click on, only a box with the red x. That is as far as I can get.
