Jun 12, 2005Trying to do an online scan but panda kaspy, etc dosnt support fire fox only, so i tried to find and lauch explorer.but explorer disapeared from my desktop and program file list some time ago, i have downloaded the latest one from microsoft but it says a newer version is currently installed.does anyone know how to run internet explorer from the Run command, as this is the only way i can thing of lauching explorer as i have no shortcuts or prompts, and its got to be on there.Or any other way i can lauch internet explorer as at the moment i cant find let alone lauch it.

Aug 5, 2005I opened my computer and decided to goto internet through the my computer window. So I pressed home button of my key board so the My Computer window converted to a web page. But after that the address bar disappeared. I closed the window and restart the machine and opened the internet explorer, but still address bar is missing. Jun 21, 2008I'm getting Page Cannot Be Displayed EVERY single time I open a web page. Whether it's a link or typed in the address bar. I have to refresh the page several times before the page comes up, if it even does at all. Usually, but not always, when the page does open no images appear, just placeholders. I've put in my windows disc and run sfc /scannow and re-registered a bunch of dll files and it seemed to work. for about 5 minutes. Then it went right back to doing it again. OE is also having a problem connecting to the internet. Sometimes it does and most times it doesn't.

Jun 14, 2005I have an external hardrive that is 80gb. you can put 74.5gb of info on it. i have 21.4gb of info on it. When i right click on the HD and go to properties it says that i have 8.19gb of space left. last time i checked 74.5 minus 21.4 does not equal 8.19.I had a large file on it. it was about 23gb, when i deleted it the file, the file went away like it was supposed to but the HD space never became available again. How do i fix this?

Jul 4, 2005i cannot connect to my internet connection from one computer, yet another computer in the network (both are connected to a switch and then to a modem outer) can. In cmd.exe in the run command, i can ping any web address with successful results yet i cannot connect to the internet. In the network connections box it shows no data travel between my computer and the server. i have recently installed ed2k and warez but removed both to try to fix the problem. i also tried turning the windows firewall off without effect. when typing in the address of my modem in internet explorer i get no connection
either yet i can pping it from cmd.exe so i have no idea wats going on

I am going to install the drivers now. Before that I was just trying to connect to the internet but cant connect at all. Internet Page Could Not Be Found
Apr 15, 2007clicks on the internet it states that the page could not be found, please go to internet options etc clear cookies. We do all this but it doesn't seem to work, the only thing that works is turning the machine off and restarting it. I rang Dell and Tiscali, neither have been able to help, the computer sends and recieves all 4 packets, they have disconnected the internet connection and reinstalled it, they said they were going to test the line and ring us back but this never happened. I am a complete novice with computers and my mum knows even less

When I hook up my modem through usb it works fine but unable to utilize my full download speed capabilities. Hooked the modem up via ethernet to laptop and it worked just fine. The only thing I can find wrong that I don't know how to fix or what is causing it is the fact that the physical address of the card comes up as the broadcast address (FF-FF-FF-FF-FF-FF). Very strange.

It's not my internet connect because if I type in an address other than my home page in the URL bar it will open. My AOL works too. After hitting the home button a few times, my home page, Google will open. But after awhile surfing the net, when I hit the home button, I get that message again that it can't display page. Feb 22, 2008Whenever i login and try to open Internet explorer or any internet browser on Windows XP, it gives me a message saying that the page could not be displayed. However, i am clearly connected to the internet as i can access it from Linux on the same computer and i can play on Xbox Live. Also, when i try to access the internet in safe mode with networking enabled, it still says that the page could not be displayed. Is there any way i can fix this without reinstalling windows because my computer did not include an XP disc when i bought it.

Getting on line is no problem, but the moment i attempt to change to another website i loose my connection, in otherwords i am brought to the page that says "This page is not available etc etc" If i press the "Back" key i am brought back to the previous page not the page i tried to go to. Or if i press refresh it also will bring me to the previous page. An my second attempt at getting the desired web page it is then successful. Oct 22, 2009Some time ago, I must have inadvertently "pushed a button" and the page size for Internet Explorer changed from "normal" to "magnified". I can't figure out how to change it back. Going into control panel and changing the screen resolution size has absolutely no effect. (I never re-adjusted the screen size anyway). It's so annoying to have to constantly work the page bars up and down, back and forth! I think the same thing has happened to AOL.
