When I go to http://www.saxlessons.com/ using Internet Explorer v. 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr it does not show the favicon in the address bar.Going to the same site with Mozilla Firwfox v. 1.0.6, the icon does show. The above site is one example only - the same thing applies to many sites.I have looked through the Tools >> Internet Options lists.

My pc is so slow that it takes ages to play a song in wmp11. Ive used tools like ad-aware and registry mechanic, tune up utilities. But still no improvement. It used to be just fine, until I installed some pay-for-viewing add program. I have uninstalled it since then, but the slowness remains. And the processor is hogged, at the highest level, even though i killed many a startup processes.

I recently put a new hard drive in my computer. Now whenever I try to start Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer the windows installer starts and the windows will not open until I have cancelled the installer several times. I scanned the registry with Registry Fix and fixed all problems. It still starts every time. Netscape has no like problem starting.

I badly need your support. Day before yesterday (01-Aug-06) night I upgraded the yahoo toolbar and used their norton anti spy to scan. Then I shut down the system and started to work the next day. Every thing is perfectly ok except for one thing. In Windows Explorer, on any folder or drive if I double click or open I get a crash. If I do explore then there is no problem.

I turned off my computer and everything worked fine. I turned it on today and when I open my Internet Explorer I get the message "Page cannot be displayed" My Netscape browser works fine. I called Comcast they ran all the diagnosis from their end and said something got corrupted in Internet Explorer. They said it could be a win-sock problemI am running Windows XP, Internet Explorer v.6.0.2800.1106 and using Service pack 1.The only thing I can think to do is uninstall my Internet Explorer, download a new version from Microsoft, and install it.I thought a would ask for a second opinion before I before I tried anything.

computer in my possession crashed, and when i reset, my internet has gone wonky. I use MSN as my ISP, and before, i could access internet explorer, or firefox, or any program without ever actually having to sign in to MSN. after the crash, however, i now have to sign in to access internet explorer, firefox, and a couple programs. what angers me, however, is that i DONT have to sign in to access trillian. Limewire, also, will connect, but wont download anything without msn being logged in. How do i get back to how it was? And no, system restore did not work.

I am having problems starting both Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer. Both generate the same error: "Internet (or Windows) Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." The details show that ole32.dll is the guilty module. So far I've had no success in locating a solution. I am using Windows XP Home Edition. I should also note that the control panel won't function either since it is basically part of Windows Explorer.

Not sure how that happened or if i have a virus of some sort. I cannot see in IE the file-edit-tools-windows menu at the top of the navagation icons. I have a virus scanner that updates daily, so may be that my grand daughter changed something. How do i restore them back to the way it was?

My users are unable to access the internet via Internet Explorer 7.With Firefox and changes in the proxy it works good, however, unable to access with Internet Explorer.
I'm thinking maybe the user's profile has problem. However, after deleting the user's profile and have her logged in to create a new profile, it still would not work.
How come it works with Firefox but not with Internet Explorer?

The firewall is not blocking. I checked all admin service permissions and can't find any problems. I also tried Winsock Fix. I'm stumped on this and don't know what to do next

A friend of mine installed the Mozilla browser and I didnt like it so I uninstalled it. Anyways to make a long story short..Since then,In the address bar (ie icon), and all my internet links (internet shortcuts) show as an unassigned file type now. So for instance if I drag an http link from my browser to my desktop...it does not show as an ie link anymore (just a random file type). So when I right click my internet links and say "open with" internet explorer it works. However...when I select the check box "always open with this program" it will not change all of my internet shortcuts appear with the "IE" icon like it should

I installed a parental control program for Internet Explorer, but it was not allowing AOL to dial any numbers. Also, after shutting down the AOL, Windows XP would shut down the parental control program saying that it was malfunctioning. So I decided to delete the parental control program from my hard drive, and I used the uninstall program of the parental control program to uninstall it. After the uninstall, I noticed that I could dial and use the AOL browser as usual, but I could not use Internet Explorer. Any web pages that I tried to visit using IE would not display, and Internet Explorer would say, This page cannot be displayed.

Let me say it right away to get it out of my system: I Hate Internet Explorer. I hate it. I lie awake at night dreaming of tracking down whatever bozo dreamt up the idea for Bill Gates and subjecting his or her frail flesh to all sorts of sundry and unspeakable agonies that aren't physiologically possible and would violate every law of anatomy in the medical textbooks, but I'd somehow invent them.I settle for running Opera. I <3 Opera. Whoever dreamt up Opera is my hero or heroine. For those few websites out there that refuse to allow access to non-IE browsers (a few Microsoft-related sites out there come to mind), I use Maxthon, an IE-compatible browser without a lot of the security holes in regular IE.But any program (not an internet site, a program) with parseable, clickable web links all cause Internet Explorer to spring up.
I have gone to every single "choose default web browser" drop-down menu I can find on my computer and set them to Opera. I have gone to "Add/Remove Windows Components" to try and remove Internet Explorer. No workie. All links embedded in any program, including some of my multi-player games requiring an internet connection, all cause that horrible accursed IE to pop up.I'm planning on simply deleting the Internet Explorer folder next but decided to turn here first to see if there is a gentler solution. Far far gentler than my Internet Explorer folder deserves, no doubt, but if such a solution exists, I will use it.

But I didn't like the msn so uninstalled and ran peoplepc thru my dsl. After the zone alrm messed up my computer nothing would work. So I uninstalled Peoplepc and reinstalled it and I had Internet explorer back. But not by itself. I do nor have the blue e. It is only with peoplepc. Well now I have decided to put the msn premium back on and use it. When tech support was helping me they wanted me to use Internet explorer. . Couldn't because it is only on with peoplepc.
