It appears that my drivers are out of date:
a)Plug and play Monitor
b) Intel Pro/100 VE network adaptor
c) intel 8280 IBA/BAM AC '97 audio controler - system device
d)8284 processor to I/O controlle IA30 &
e) 8284 processor to AGP controlle IA31.
video card on my laptop messed up somehow, i can see a exclamation mark on the device manager in the display drivers tab... now im searching to update my driver but cant find any sources that would suit xp windows now everything is very laggy cuz it shows im not using any video card or something like that anyway?

i have a old dell demension 3000 desktop, recently it was struck with a couple viruses (pc antispyware 2010)i saved all my files and decided to do a clean install.a couple drivers were missing:Network Adapter Ethernet controller Multi Media Controller Video Controller (VGA)i couldn't get online so i plugged in a USB wireless adapter to try and get online to download these drivers. (BTW the att modem is attached to this computer.)i tried updating each driver and it just searches and comes up with nothing. So i went to the Dell site and looked up which drivers to DL, i DL them and it just saves to my desktop as a application file.

A friends HP Media Center PC m7077c crashed. Had no recover disk, etc. Installed XP Pro SP2 and I need drivers (according to Device Manager). No sound is obvious but video controller is not. Video seems okay. Where do I find drivers for this machine. XP Pro, Home and MCE are different OS's ... as far as my experience. The drivers are not the same.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever i install drivers on my pc, (i've tried graphics card drivers and wireless network card drivers) my pc stops working. When i installed the graphics card drivers, i tried testing the graphics on a game (counter-strike) but as soon as i got into the game, the pc flashes a blue screen, and reboots. I cant see what the blue screen says because it flashes on and off again to quick for me to read it. I decided to uninstall the graphics card drivers, and the game worked perfectly, but the graphics were REALLY bad. So i thought i might need to update some other drivers, so i tried to install my wireless network card, but when i finished installing the drivers when i had to restart my computer, it flashed the BSOD.... AGAIN! I need help urgently as im going to a LAN gaming comp called "rezidue" and its on in 2 weeks, i need my pc fixed by then! All these problems started when i upgraded my CPU. Everything was running smooth, and i was happily playing along on my computer, when i was asked what my FPS was in counter-strike, and i was all "mine are 65!" and there like "wow that sucks, mines 130" so i set out on my epic quest to get better FPS then everyone else and MAN THAT WAS A MISTAKE. I upgraded from my celeron 2.8ghz cpu to a P4 3.0ghz HT cpu, and thats when things started messing up on me. My entire system is as follows (incase it can help someone help me) P4 3.0ghz HT CPU, Microstar P4 motherboard, 128mb Nvidia Geforce mx4000 AGP x8 graphics card, 256MB ddr ram (recently brought new 1GB ddr ram off ebay just for rezidue! should be here soon!) At the same time I noticed that microsoft automatic updates are getting to around 28 percent and then stopping - not fully downloading or installing. I cannot get through to any microsoft websites now - but all other sites are fine. wuauserv and bits are missing from services also. Have I been sneakily virused by something which MSE hasnt picked up. I tried to run malicious software removal tool - it downloads alright but wont install - says its not a valid win32 application. I correctly downloaded the 32bit app. Can anyone shed some light on any of this. I dont want to rebuild again and again.

It has a non- wireless connection to the internet via my LAN.Last week, the yellow update "shield" icon appeared in my systray and I updated Windows - the update was completed. Since then, the update shield icon has appeared in my systray four times. I installed the update each time, but it seems to have been the same update each time ("KB 967715"). If it is the same update each time, which it seems to be, why would the update "shield" appear in my systray four times within a week and a half to install the same update

in IE service pack 1, i clicked on the windows update on the tools tab on the menu bar. this loaded an empty page of the browser. this is the same when i click on windows update on the start menu -> all programs.
however when i click microsoft update, it takes me to the update page where i could download my service packs and 'express' and 'custom' installations. i traced the application which triggers the windows update and its from the system32 = wupdmgr.exe. i traced the application which triggers the microsoft update and its also from the system 32 = muweb.dll,LaunchMUSite. is the windows update now obsolete, unusable and just but a dead-end function. and is microsoft update now the site that replaces the what-used-to-be windows update?
I use a toshiba satellite R/15 series and for some reason I have been unable to install any of the Windows updates that were downloaded on my computer. The installer just tries to install for about 5 minutes, is unable to, and then just says it is unable to be successfully installed.

After reinstalling windows and all necessary drivers, my Windows Update is now always telling me I have updates ready to install. When I click on the icon in the taskbar, it starts installing. When it finishes, the icon goes away. However, 2 seconds later, the icon comes up again saying I have updates ready to install. The update I always need to install is MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update (925672) and MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update (KB927978).
