View 9 RepliesRun the Registry Editor (REGEDIT). 1)Open HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Explorer RunMRU. 2)Delete all of the values that you dont want in this key (everything in the right pane, except for (Default)). 3)Close the Registry Editor when finished. You'll probably have to refresh the Desktop or restart Windows for this change to take effect.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf you want to remove some additional programs that are installed with windows but are not initially visible in Add / Remove, edit a file called "C:WINDOWSINFSYSOC.INF".In there you will find a listing of programs, and you will note that some programs have the word 'hide' at the end.Now when you open Add-Remove Windows Components, you will see a new choice, in this example, "Windows Messenger"
View 9 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to get rid of the remnants some Nokia programs that my son installed on the PC.
They wouldn't uninstall using the conventional method so I just deleted the folders and used Registry Medic to clean up the mess.
The only thing left is in the add/remove programs list.
I have gone in the registry and in the 'uninstall section' removed all things 'Nokia' but still they remain.
Hello, folks. I'm having a little trouble removing some corrupted registry entries found with the Uniblue RegistryBoost scanner. It was able to remove the other 667 entries, no problem, but these 3 just don't want to go away:
Quote: Scan subsection: System drivers
Entries found: 2
Entries:
Entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesCreative Service for CDROM
How do you clear the run command box of entries, ie. regedit, msconfig? I tried a few things but no luck yet.
View 1 Replies View Relatedits On My Sons Pc. I Have Tried Going Through The Display Settings But Some Of Them Have Been Disabled (possibly By This) So I Cant Do It.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIt got infected with Windows Police Pro. After disabling that, there are several 'remnants' left over. The only way I can run any spyware/malware removal programs is to install it fresh. The program(s) will open, then it'll shut down 2 seconds into the scan. It even shuts down my registry cleaner as soon as it begins to clean (after it finds all the errors). All these programs simply terminate themselves. It does this in SafeMode as well.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy computer has been running really well for the longest time. I've had no problems at all. Then just like 2 days ago my computer started running really slow. Whenever I open up a messenger it hangs and then freezes. I ran my spybot detector and there were a few things but I got rid of them. My virus scan was clear and I also ran my disk defragmenter. I'm not sure if I got a virus somehow. I deleted all my cookies and files.

But when I boot up my computer, I find that I am still in Selective Startup even though I checked for Normal.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have tried previously to uninstall my HP Officejet G85 printer from HP Pavilion a1130n running XP Media. There is no Change/Remove button in Add/Remove Programs but the program is there, 150 MB, and the file suggested on the HP website for uninstalling older printers from XP produces a message that it's "unsupported" can't remember exact verbiage, been a while since last tried. Even reinstalled in the hopes that a message would come up to the effect "this program is already installed, do you want install to remove it prior to completing this install," but it just installs the printer again with a number after it ... I'm up to "hp officejet g series - 3."
