my computer is running a little too slow for my likeing, I have installed and run hijack-this and here is my log.

I've got win xp, recently it is running very slowly especially when I try to get on the internet. I have run Ad-Aware & Spybot on a regular basis (2-3 times/week), Norton Antivirus atleast once per week and defrags once a week. System boots slowly and when I start just about any application, it seems to take forever for it to come up.
HP Media Center PC psc x876. 2.4 Ghz Processor, 512 MB RAM.
My laptop is running very slow and has been showing signs of hijacks. I have run Ad Aware and also Avast Virus Checker. I have Avast and AVG, Spyguard, Zone Alarm running and on my other machine running the same programs have no problems.

what I'm thinking is that I'm just going to have to pay & get this pc cleaned because after I go thru all the steps to correct it.later it starts freezing and stuff sooo bad that I always have to reset it like you do when you first by the pc because it won't let me estore pc using restore systems. Computer seems to be slowed down, PLUS it seems to slow down its internet connection that is max 10 mips down, to a crawl, then it speeds back up. Cable claims all is okay on their end, and is something on my system. Lately my PC freezes up for virtually no reason. The computer is older but runs just fine besides the freezing up. Not sure if its just time to get a new computer or if its just a glitch. I tired doing a windows update yesterday, computer would not let me perfom the action.
The error message read: Network policy settings prevent you from using Windows Update to download and install updates. This error may occur if the Remove access to use all Windows Update features group policy has been enabled by your system administrator and comes up with a windows error 0x8DDD0003 and have done a lot of the recommended fixes but nothing has worked.

View 4 Replies View RelatedLately my computer has been extremely slow, not just internet slow but onboard slow. For example, if I click on an application from the desktop it will sit there for 10-20 seconds before anything happens. Occasionally I'll click multiple times on something and nothing will happen then 30 seconds later it will open multiple instances of things. This delay has been happening with just about anything I click on, acting like the computer's busy doing something else when nothing else should be going on. I've looked in the task manager and the applications column will be blank

Pages take too long to load, and I now sometimes get the server error message here, server not responding. Any idea what I can do. View 6 Replies View RelatedI ran Ad Aware SE and later Spyawre Doctor and found nothing also clen temp. files on IE/Tools/temp folders then I ran %temp% and deleted all temp files but it gave me an Error File or Folder mon000 that says close any programs that might be using the file and try again. I don' know what file that is. there are two files that were not deleted: mon000.log and one named Dat.File pefib Perfdata Also ran ATF-cleaner

All drives are defragged weekly, the BIOS is set to boot off of the hard disk, and I only have the one OS installed.This thing use to boot to the desktop in 20 seconds.

That's my hijack log. i'm having problems with super slow performance. I installed 1gb of ram so it now has 1.2gb or available memory.
