View 1 RepliesI would like to know if this can be done in win xp environment. say I have a folder, A, of pictures only and they all have file extensions jpg eg abc.jpg, xyz.jpg. say I have a second folder, B, which contains all the files of A(if you ignore extensions) and more(but all are pictures.) But all the files in B has extensions NEF instead of jpg eg abc.NEF, efg.NEF, xyz.NEF. My idea is to extract all the files from B that has the same the name as A(ignoring extensions) and either move or copy to a separate folder ie if A contains abc.jpg, xyz.jpg then abc.NEF and xyz.NEF will be extracted and moved/copied to a new folder. I'm not sure where to start. is there a program out there that can do this? or there's a special command to type at the command prompt?

View 2 Replies View RelatedPreviously I have been doing work that requires me to unplug my network connection and I need to check my IP address each time I plug it in again. I guess it's not set for static IP.Anyways to do this I usually go into Command Prompt and type 'ipconfig'Now however I just get "'ipconfig' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file".The directory is the same as its always been, I can change it but it doesn't seem to matter what it is.I've checked many other posts and is there something possibly wrong with my PATH variable? I used the command 'echo %PATH%' and it works, the list it gives is very garbled however.

Not good I know. This is a Dell Dimension 4500 with 128 meg of ram and WinXP home.

View 9 Replies View RelatedOkay, here is my story. Around early august, I built a new gaming rig pretty much all by myself. All the parts cost nearly $800. But another guy did a few things for me, and set up the BIOS.Anyway,I installed a bunch of drivers on some cd's I had, and it looked like I was good to go. Anyway, from then to now, I have been through BSoD heck, among other problems.
The USB's killed 2 of my flash drives, and an ipod.I don't know how, but it defidenntly isn't a coincidence all of those things died.Anyway,I get BSoD's in the most random times,it happens a while I start my pc up. I can barely play games like Bioshock because of this problem.the error message that usually pops up on the BSoD is DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
I fix missing task manager and regedit but i dont have boot.ini file when I started my computer but I fonud it any tutorials about modifying boot.ini file and I put code. in system startup boot loader timeout=30default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk ,i still missing stupid ini.file.

It atempts to install until a screen pops up that says omething about needing a cd to install. If you cancel out it tries it atleast 2 more times.
