I'm not sure what happened, but up til a few days ago when I would boot up my computer, it would go straight to the desktop screen.when I boot it up a window pops up asking me to enter a password. I've never set up my computer to take passwords. I'm the only one that's ever used this computer. So I just click OK and only then does it go to the desktop.

How can I start a program on Windows startup and set the window of the programm always on top. That means that no other program which starts as well on startup, can set his window activ. Just my program should always be on top.Is that possible with a VBScript?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI try to start up, and it doest freeze, but it hangs after I type in my password, I can move the mouse, but my busy light blinks in controlled blinks... either way, It just did this after I removed some old nForce chipset drivers, then reinstalled them. I used DriverCleaner, and updated to my motherboard's latest drivers. My mother board is a MSI K8N Neo4-F (Socket 939)... AMD Athlon 64 3500+, 2gb ram, XFX 7900GS XXX Edition. Before I backup drivers and files and reformat? I have to restart the computer a few times to get it to get past the login screen, and the nVidia BIOS screen will change font sizes, but not by much, after every other restart... But everything runs smooth when I start in safe mode. Also - Once I turn the computer on, the busy light is going on full, all the way untill windows gets to the login screen. UPDATE: Loads have not been as slow, but I cant still log in, unless in safe mode.

Now upon start up everything is in something like wingdings but different. All of the characters are something else, so I cannot type in my password in start up. The hand cursor never becomes a cursor for me to type in passowords to user accounts. I went into safe mode and then into control panel and deleted the passwords for each user acct and now I can get into the accounts but how can I add the passwords again and be able to type them in. We have 3 user accounts on this pc and would like to have them password protected.

Spybot Search and Destroy flashed up and I clicked to allow, or not allow as the case may be, to do something to, from what I can remember, 'WLON' or something similarly named. In any case, what happens now is that I fire up the computer, enter my password, the desktop briefly flashes up for a split second(no icons) and then it immediately logs off and goes to password entry again.

Over a year ago, I got tired of entering my password because I an the only person that uses this computer. I did something so it would boot without the password screen appearing ( I don't remember what, but I think I left the password line blank).
Since the computer boots directly to my account, I am never prompted to enter a password; but if I use Power Options (and the computer sleeps), it wakes to the login screen and I cannot reenter my account. I have to reboot. On the login screen, I have tried leaving the password blank and entering every password I use, but I get an Invalid Password response.
All of a sudden I get a window saying that the Window Installer is trying to run. I do not want this to run. How do I get rid of it?
